Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Bodies do weird things, don’t they Cupcakes? I’m never sure if these things are actually new or maybe we just become more aware of them as we symptom spot more and more. I’m laying off TTC for good in the new year. I’m 41 and I’ve been trying for DC2 for over 2.5 years so I think it’s time I accept it.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 04/12/2018 10:49

We are quite cross and sweary here sometimes so FP just seemed so much better.

Chooklass · 04/12/2018 10:09

Welcome @cupcakesandglitter!

FP is Fucking Period! Some Yammers a while back felt that AF was too twee and annoying. I like FP, it reflects how I feel about it better!

Hugs to you @SparkwoodAnd21

Thanks @SparkwoodAnd21 I'm just pissing fed up of every month my body doing something new and weird. I'm CD8 now and still spotting which is so fucking irritating!!! Do you think you're going to lay off TTC for a bit? (Also what's FP?)

SparkwoodAnd21 · 04/12/2018 09:44

Welcome cupcakesandglitter! Rant away.

FP got me yesterday. One last cycle now and I’m out. I’ve had enough. I started on antidepressants yesterday so it’s probably time to quit before I totally lose the plot.

cupcakesandglitter · 03/12/2018 14:23

Hi all, can I join please? I'm 23,TTC #1, Cycle 6 (or 8 if you count the couple I tried last year). Waited bloody ages to be able to TTC, and I'm just getting pissed off really - need somewhere to rant. Appreciate it's not a long time to be trying, but I started AF at 5DPO last cycle and yet every month wishfully convince myself this could be it. Queue comments from my mom about relaxing etc and how she doesn't think the issue is with me, and first cycle friends boasting about how easy it was to get pregnant at the first go. I feel like I'm becoming a miserable jealous cow and I'm just spending my time waiting to be pregnant 😩

impatientmammy · 02/12/2018 22:11

Sorry FP's back @Chooklass it's never really easy though. Glad you got some well deserved time away though. X

Chooklass · 02/12/2018 21:23

Hey Yammers, just been trying to catch up on the thread. Been away from the internet for a week or so in the remote wilderness (it's been bliss!). FP arrived today and I've spent the last hour or so crying in the shower. Forgot my contact lenses were in when rubbing my eyes so just spent 10 mins fishing them out from the back of my eyes. Feel sick now!! I've been feeling fine about the ttc thing this month so I'm surprised how shit this period has made me feel.

Sorry some of you have been having a rubbish time, and welcome to any newbies in the past week xx

@Si1ver yep good idea!

@impatientmammy 12th 13th....I'm about 6 dpo so wouldn't have even implanted yet hehe

impatientmammy · 02/12/2018 16:37

Aawwww @Owlpatrol I truelly hope these are pregnancy emotions and not just the stress of ttc. When's you AF due? X

Si1ver · 02/12/2018 12:27

Get him a cooking course for Christmas @owlpatrol

Owlpatrol · 02/12/2018 11:06

Lol I was hungry @impatientmammy made me laugh though. Well I had a good cry just now, made a coffee and feel a bit better! What's everyone's plans today? X

impatientmammy · 02/12/2018 11:04

😂😂😂 @Owlpatrol my oh would be amazed if he mentioned he fancied eggs and I just went and made them. He's a lazy cook too though I hate it that they just assume your gunna make something x

Owlpatrol · 02/12/2018 09:56

@impatientmammy @RC1985 it was over cooking. Dp cant/won't cook yet expects me to russle something up nigella style every single day. I know it sounds petty but I was seriously annoyed. Like this morning woke up and he said oh fancy eggs for breakfast? Then proceeded to sit and stay in bed....till I made breakfast. Argh! Anyway trying not to get mardy its Sunday after all! I'm either pregnant or hornones all over the place.

How's everyone else doing today?

RC1985 · 02/12/2018 09:50

@owlpatrol hope you are ok this morning. It’s very frustrating isn’t it? Sending hugs your way.

impatientmammy · 01/12/2018 23:02

@Owlpatrol I hope your ok? Xx

Owlpatrol · 01/12/2018 22:22

I've just been sitting here all evening, the universe must be teaching me something. Must be patient. So I've been practising patience tonight with dp, just sitting there doing nothing. It's helping. I'm sure I must have learnt my lesson now, I'm two years down the line!

impatientmammy · 01/12/2018 20:27

Thank you @Boboelephant
And congratulations @Si1ver x

Si1ver · 01/12/2018 09:07

@RC1985 no that was my one and only cycle. I came out pregnant with two good frozen embryos.

Honestly, I found IVF very hard and I won't be doing it again. I'm obviously delighted with the outcome, but if neither of our frozen embryos work out, this baby will be an only.

Boboelephant · 01/12/2018 08:58

Ah we were typing at the same time. @Si1ver congratulations!!

Boboelephant · 01/12/2018 08:55

@impatientmammy I only drink grapefruit juice from about day 10. I hate it so can't be doing with it from day 1! Even with just through the fw I see a difference.
@Owlpatrol hell yes to drinking through few. Drink til it's pink I say. Also in the when we've been trying this long camp...
@RC1985 welcome. Just to let you know maca powder has a very strong taste so I think he'd know! 😂 I keep trying to drink it but cannot mask the wheat germ flavour! I also it my tests done on NHS after a year.

Just chiming in with the IUI/IVF chat. We're going straight to IVF as she said we have a 47% chance with that and about 12% with IUI. If you have more time then IUI can be a way forward. Not ideal for me but I only have the one tube now so keen to bypass that! We don't qualify either on NHS and I have to say Brno does sound tempting! @Si1ver did it work?
Also @Owlpatrol AMH is anti mullerian hormone which is your egg reserve.

RC1985 · 01/12/2018 08:55

@Si1ver lovely to hear you’re 31 weeks. Did you try IVF over here first?

@impatientmammy I had the termination when I was a lot younger, was in debt and just about to start uni, felt it wasn’t the right time but regretted it ever since. I put it to the back of my mind for years thinking i’ll be fine and occasionally what if I can’t get pregnant again. But you can’t change the past so you have to look forward.

Owlpatrol · 01/12/2018 08:51

Gosh yes I bet. I'm going to do some googling about this over the next few days, whilst trying to find the motivation to clean and do Christmas decorations!

Si1ver · 01/12/2018 08:46

@impatientmammy 31 weeks, so I was out there in May. I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant from my first cycle at Reprofit. Technically I'm an ex Yammer.

@Owlpatrol AMH is Anti-Müllerian hormone. A hormone which when read in conjunction with your fsh levels can indicate levels of ovarian reserve. The NHS don't test for it as standard. However it was what was causing my fertility issues.

I wasn't keen on traveling either, but the cost benefit combined with the increased success rates made it a no brainer and I'm pleased we did it.

Owlpatrol · 01/12/2018 03:02

@impatientmammy @Si1ver I'm going to look into this! I'd rather not travel but it seems like a really good option.

And @Si1ver what's AMH? X
