Age 35
DD age 2
TTC number 2

This is our first month trying I'm on CD15 and no smiley on OPK yet. I'm still sort of bf'ing toddler usually twice a day sometimes once so hopefully that's not preventing ovulation.

Had 2 chemicals before conceiving DD1 so expecting the same again this time round.

Hi all, not sure if this thread is still active but thought I'd provide an update in case it's useful to anyone. I got my BFP yesterday, on cycle 3. It's still very early but am relieved!

It was my first cycle using OPKs (the cheap One Step ones recommended earlier). I wish I'd starting using them from cycle 1. I think I ovulated on CD11, so a good bit earlier than the standard CD14. I also feel like I was a bit stupid because I was blindly following the fertile days days that the Ovia app was telling me. I think the app had decided I ovulated later, around CD19 because I had had some bloating around that time. Which obviously turned out to be completely wrong!

So just to say that if you're using an app to track ovulation I definitely recommend using OPKs too, unless of course you're having regular sex throughout the cycle anyway. This was difficult for us, mainly because of 2yo DD, but also because we've had a lot on recently in terms of work travel etc.

Also, in case it's useful for anyone - I was very careful about the way I used the OPK. Because the darkness of the line is key, I tried hard to make sure thay my urine was of a similar concentration each time I tested, and I tested around the same time every afternoon. I basically didn't have a wee or a drink after around 1pm and then tested around 5.30pm.

Also found the OneStep pregnancy tests useless, at least for early detection. Have had positives on both ClearBlue and FRER but nothing yet on those. They're probably fine if you're not impatient like me!

I found this rollercoaster of TTC quite tough, even though I know it's not been that long really. So, I just wanted to say keep going everyone and baby dust to you all!

Hi, this is ScarsAndAll. Name change failed before, I will be Bitsandboobs from now on!!

ScarsAndAll · 01/11/2018 10:07

Hi. Can I join? After 5+ years of thinking we didn't want a second we have changed our minds!! So here I am. Currently on cd26 so expecting period imminently. I had the copper coil in until cd21 this month, had sex cd22 but doubt anything will come from that obviously. So after this period will be the first month trying. I fell pg first cycle with ds, but I was 6 years younger then!!!

RubyRedUnicorn · 01/11/2018 09:14

Hey yes, we been tracking everything 😔 nothing is working it seems. It is so hard just makes me think it'll never happen 😭

scrolling123 · 30/10/2018 22:27

Thanks @mrstaylor18! I will let you know!
@RPC28 - its so hard isnt it? and so emotional! Have you been charting / opking? xx

RPC28 · 30/10/2018 22:00

Hey,
My dd1 is now 5
And have been trying for second baby for nearly 2 years 😔 mc 1st November last year. But no luck since. 😔

Mrstaylor18 · 30/10/2018 21:58

Yes that definitely looks like a nearly positive to me hopefully will be darker tomorrow! Xx

scrolling123 · 30/10/2018 21:40

thank you - its hard isnt it? we saw that line, and rushed out and got the clear blue and saw the 'pregnant'. And I know it was super early, but you work out dates and all that....and then not only do you have to tell yourself (after hours of googling 'can I have a very late implantation bleed', and dealing with increasingly unpleasant bodily functions) but telling Mr Scrolling was gutting.
However....I do believe there is some progress on the opk side of things....

Mrstaylor18 · 30/10/2018 21:18

You don't need to be anything about it! You should deal with it in whatever way you need to, this whole process is so intense, be kind to yourself xx

scrolling123 · 30/10/2018 18:02

I will do. Yeah I'm ok. Im trying to be grown up about it. We've got a beautiful little boy and I'm truly blessed with him. If anything it's made us both realise how much we want little brother or sister. Neither of us are getting any younger so it's focused us if anything xx

Mrstaylor18 · 30/10/2018 17:35

I'd keep testing for a couple more days it might just be a bit delayed. Yeah I would count that as day 1.
Hope you're ok, I had a false positive a few months ago and it absolutely did me in. It's really tough xx

scrolling123 · 30/10/2018 16:46

Normally 28/29 days. Do feel like something is gearing up...maybe I just need to keep testing? Would you count first day of CP bleed as cd1? Xx

Mrstaylor18 · 30/10/2018 16:33

How long are your cycles normally? It could be the CP. have you had any other signs like ewcm? X

scrolling123 · 30/10/2018 15:45

Testing early and late afternoon. Had some very light lines. Nothing anywhere near positive though xx

Mrstaylor18 · 30/10/2018 15:28

Have you had any near positive? What time of the day are you testing? Xx

scrolling123 · 30/10/2018 14:26

Hi all,
Well I got my opks and have been dutifully testing twice a day since cd11. Now on cd14 and nothing.
I did have a CP last month so I guess I could be a bit skewed by that but really thought I might have seen something by now.

Anyone had any experience of ovulation after CP?
I mean to be fair I will never done opks before so I don't know what day I normally ovulate on...
Oh it is so confusing 😟
Xx

Mrstaylor18 · 29/10/2018 16:08

@pinkstar01 only symptoms I have is painful boobs and earlier had really bad stabbing in one of them which was pleasant! But that’s neither here or there with pg or af but I don’t think I am this month. Only dtd once the day after I ovulated as hubby was away.
Been to the Drs today, they’ve upped my dosage of crazy pills and referred me to the gyne so hopefully they will find something. One of my friends had a laparoscopy after trying for 3 years and she got pg the month after so they think it must have cleared a blockage or something so might work out well although it’s not very pleasant!

pinkstar01 · 29/10/2018 15:40

@Mrstaylor18 thank you I'm still trying to keep my hopes up because I'm having some symptoms which I can't explain like hunger and excess saliva and my legs are aching too, which isn't normal for me before AF. Mine is due Wednesday/Thursday so let's see! I've been trying for a year this month and scheduled for a laparoscopy in a few weeks to investigate painful ovulation and pelvic pain so hopefully I'll find out what's going on after that either way. I hope AF stays away for both of us!

Mrstaylor18 · 29/10/2018 13:51

I went months ago and had a blood test, we’ve been waiting since August for DH referral, we chased it up and it had been sent to the wrong address so we have to wait all over again. It’s just all consuming at the moment.
I’ve been taking soy isoflavones which is the natural version of clomid but no luck with that x

nikkinoo · 29/10/2018 13:50

Hello all, can I join please.

27years old
TTC #2 (not so little boy is 7)

Just come off the minipill so I just know my cycle is going to be bizarre at the moment 🙈
Anyone in the same situation?

Fingers crossed for us all 🤞🤞

stickytoffeepud2412 · 29/10/2018 13:40

@MrsTaylor18 :( so sorry Flowers have you started anything with the GP? FWIW my friend was trying for nearly 17 months they were about to undergo clomid then she fell pregnant that month. Got my FX for you x

Mrstaylor18 · 29/10/2018 13:19

Broody is an understatement after 16 months TTC 😂😂

stickytoffeepud2412 · 29/10/2018 13:10

@LauraPalmersbodybag

2 is horrendous isn't it! I think that's the major factor of putting my DH off. she doesn't listen, she climbs everywhere, she bites him constantly and thinks the tv is a climbing frame. We call her the devil child, but yet I still want to try again! but saying that you are right as potentially she will be over 3 by the time the new baby is here so every cloud and all that! how old is your DC now?

@Mrstaylor18 yep they are the devil aren't they. She had her front 2 teeth by 8 weeks I thought yes they will be over and done with, how wrong was I. Shes got 3 left to cut fingers crossed they are through before next year her behaviour is ridiculous. Oh never I hate soft play for that esp when your so broody.

Mrstaylor18 · 29/10/2018 12:58

Brought DS to soft play and it’s tiny babies and bumps everywhere 😪

Mrstaylor18 · 29/10/2018 12:33

Hi ladies just catching up, sorry for the BFN @pinkstar01 but it’s still super early you light not be out. I have different symptoms every month and sometimes no symptoms whatsoever AF just arrives 🙄 so I’ve given up trying to track them!

Hi @cracha2412! I remember molars cutting well and my DS is almost 5 now it’s awful for them.

Well I poas today, I don’t even know why but it’s obviously negative 😂. We managed to dtd the day after I O’vd when hubby got home so guess I was just being overly optimistic so just waiting for AF Wednesday/Thursday now.
I’m going to the Drs today to try and move things along with our referral as well as we’ve been waiting ages on tests for DH 🙄 xx
