@Realitysucks I dont know why they would say thisunless the6 just want more money out of you. All my DHs results came back normal and the clinic advised us not to bother with ICSI which is mainly for when there are issues with the sperm. First cycle we did had 100% fertilisation rate so they said definitely no need to do ICSI on second cycle. I am the same age as you....

Realitysucks · 15/11/2018 18:42

Guys can I just ask a question -sorry my head is spinning with so much info at the moment.

So I have been advised by the clinic to do ICSI on the basis I’m 40. Now bearing in mind no scan done yet ( sorry I’m not used to all the abbreviations yet) they have just gone straight in for ICSI, partners test was fine more than fine he has supersperm 🤦‍♀️ So I’m wondering why they are saying this?

Cleozeta · 15/11/2018 17:08

Presh - when do you need to stop the progesterone?

Presh12345 · 15/11/2018 13:10

@shell yes I have bloods at 9am Saturday. I'm not expecting any success to be honest as I think how I feel is down to the meds. I just want to stop the meds so AF can come and see if we can get another IUI cycle in before I head home for Christmas. (Don't live in UK)

Shellster52 · 15/11/2018 10:33

Presh, wish there was something I could say to make this easier for you. Does the clinic have you do a blood test on a set date?

Shellster52 · 15/11/2018 10:29

Nice to meet you Cleo. See, just when I am saying I'd love to forget it and just have sex without counting days and temps and checking CM, here you are 5star with a story about not being obsessed and giving up when it happens for you!! I'm so happy for you, just wish I could adopt that mindset.

Presh12345 · 15/11/2018 09:27

@Cleo yes it was medicated. Had Femara for 5 days at start then monitoring then trigger shot then iui. After iui I have taken progesterone tablets twice a day, baby aspirin and progesterone gel.

@shell yes my cycle is 24 days. However according to all apps, I was supposed to be ovulating earlier. With taking the femara and the trigger, I was only ovulating around CD 14.

Head is pickled. I feel so ill and tired, like my body is giving up. I've no energy. I'm assuming it is the tablets doing this.

Last night I felt like I had done 100 sit ups.....I hadn't!!!

Congrats to @five-star lovely news!!xx

5fivestar · 15/11/2018 08:36

It only takes 1 !
We did nothing different this time, if anything we were worst than usual, pickled it in gin and cigarettes poor thing. It seems to be pure luck

Realitysucks · 15/11/2018 08:34

@5fivestar congratulations there is hope ! I’m hoping for a surge (at 40) in eggs 🤣🤣🤣 as they say just that one perfect egg will do me.

5fivestar · 15/11/2018 08:30

Thought I’d pop on and give you a nice positive story. After 6 years of not doing anything to stop it and tbh giving up, finally we are pregnant at 43 & 43, first baby for him, 5th for me 😱

Cleozeta · 15/11/2018 08:03

Presh - did you have a medicated iui cycle? Fingers crossed its just a late bfp

Shellster - I am trying for number 3 too. I've also had those feelings but have decided sod it, who's business is it anyway! This is what we want for our family, this is what we'll continue to try for.
Minime - I worked out I was pregnant last cycle (chemical unfortunately) because of raised rpr on my ava. Fingers crossed for you!

Shellster52 · 15/11/2018 07:59

Hi minime. Just joined this group. I'm quickly being reminded of what TTC is like when I read your post!! Knowing when you ovulate, counting down the TWW, paying attention to all details like elevated RHR. I truly want to not go down this path, but I don't know how not to with a monthly cycle to live by.

Shellster52 · 15/11/2018 07:56

Sorry Presh. I didn't notice your last comment when I typed above. So AF was due Tuesday... 10 days past ovulation... is that normal for your cycle?

Shellster52 · 15/11/2018 07:02

Okay, so Sat was ovulation day Presh..Got it. So if day 14 is ovulation day, then day 29/first day of missed period would be 18th. I've had a few transfers with IVF and every hour that passes takes so long when you're waiting.

My husband would not want to go down the IVF path again so I'm just hoping for one of those 'oops, I'm pregnant' moments. I would really love to just forget it as I feel stress is a big factor for me, but it's hard to forget when you get a monthly cycle and know that in the middle of the cycle you need to be baby dancing while your ovulating... how is one supposed to forget??

minime2017 · 15/11/2018 06:49

Presh its a horrible waiting game, but you arent out until you're out. Im tempted to look into IUI mainly due to age. Im cd 21 today, bfn but could only be 8/9 dpo. Few symptoms that could be normal pre af, a bad cold starting or by some miracle a possible pregnancy...who knows 🙄 my main reason for having a little hope is the elevation in my rhr on the fitbit. It stayed pretty static at 64 until 6dpo (higher than ususal anyway) then has climbed up yesterday and today and is currently 67 which it never has been before. Now I know its unlikely to be anything preg related and more likely to be due to the actual cold but its making this 2ww interesting.

Presh12345 · 15/11/2018 06:29

Oh and AF was due last Tuesday but due to progesterone gel and tablets twice a day, I think that's what is delaying it.

Presh12345 · 15/11/2018 06:28

@shell no specific medical condition just age factor. I know I had trigger on Thursday 1st November 9.30pm with our Saturday 3rd 10.30am. He did a quick scan before on the Saturday and I hadn't ovulated but was very close. I just feel horrendous at the moment.

Shellster52 · 15/11/2018 05:58

Presh do you know what day you actually ovulated? How long is your cycle naturally... would AF normally have arrived by now? Was IUI to overcome a specific medical that is hindering you conceiving?

Thank you Chat Wow, number 6! I would think having 5 babies previously would be an advantage to trying to conceive again. Are you trying naturally?

Presh12345 · 15/11/2018 04:06

@chatbash I had iui on Saturday 3rd. Do we count the day of IUI? If so 13dpiui. If not then 12dpiui. I Feel awful. I Feel like bursting into tears all the time. I am absolutely exhausted. I'm totally overwhelmed with work as well. I just want to sleep.

Chatbash72 · 15/11/2018 02:50

Welcome @Shellster52, I'm trying for number 6 and have experienced no judgement at all... you are in the right place.. x @Presh12345 what day are you ?

Presh12345 · 15/11/2018 01:17

Another morning, another test, another BFN. No AF (could be progesterone tablets), still feeling shite, still feeling tired, still nauseous.

Shellster52 · 15/11/2018 00:47

New here. Mind if I join you lovely ladies please?! Gave birth to my 1st just before I turned 34. The second took 5 years and many IVF cycles to achieve, due to both male and female fertility issues. I got Depo injection in November last year and no period since. But a few weeks ago I had twinging on my ovaries then a week ago I had period cramping... but no period followed. Same thing happened a few days later. I convinced myself I was pregnant as I had the same cramping early on with both my pregnancies, but yesterday a test gave me a BFN. But that started the fantasy of me wanting to be pregnant, especially because everyone says when you forget about it you will conceive, and you hear so many stories of that being the case. I'd love to just forget about it and if it happens then great and if not I should be grateful for the two children that I have. I realise some of you my be wanting to conceive your first and I hope I don't offend by wanting a third.
Breastfeeding went pear shaped with both my children and I really felt like I missed out on that bonding of motherhood that I'd really love to experience, and I can't help but want it.

Chatbash72 · 14/11/2018 23:52

Sorry about af @Ameliel
Good luck everyone xx

Cleozeta · 14/11/2018 23:05

Mimosa - what cd are you now? Maybe you are about to ovulate!

Orchid222 · 14/11/2018 22:51

Thanks ladies for your good luck wishes- I'll need all the luck I can get! I'm slightly terrified but also relieved that I'm finally progressing and maybe there's a light at the end if the tunnel.
Mimosa- glad to hear you're feeling better!
