🤞🤞🤞@CritterTamer @hmm123 we don't automatically follow our mother's paths with af or menopause.. both my sis and I have produced after my mother hit hers.. and she had really heavy ones before she had her last one at 38.. ( 32 years ago) I'm 45 and regular as clockwork with no heavy ones.. but whilst your still ovulating its all still possible.. xx

Rose68 · 09/10/2018 09:14

@BooseysMum - Definitely ignore her, she has no clue what she is talking about. I haven’t told anyone that we are ttc because I am scared of their reactions.
@hmm123 - I am sure you will be fine, but have you had your day 3 and day 21 blood test done? It might help put your mind at rest.
I am now in the two week wait (again).
xxx

hmm123 · 09/10/2018 07:58

Thanks shiny. No rush ., I'll leave it to you

I am now stressing that I've left it too late. My mum went through menopause at 43 and said it started with her periods becoming irregular. I've one really long cycle last year( 47 days) and one 17 day one, and now nothing on day 40. Every other month has been ok. I hope it's just a blip and they will kick back in

CritterTamer · 09/10/2018 06:52

Thanks for your good wishes all - I can’t believe how nervous I am - don’t remember being this nervous last time! I think it’s because I understand better this time just how easily it can all go horribly wrong.

I really hope there are at least two decent quality embies still going strong today 🤞

With the DHEA conversation, just a word of caution - I haven’t tried DHEAsupplementation but did use testosterone gel for a month prior to this egg collection (under consultant supervision) which I think is more or less the same thing just a little stronger. It did cause horrible hair loss which was distressing for me as I have fine thin hair anyway, but after a week on the gel I was losing huge clumps every time I washed it and now have the beginning of a little widows peak! Thankfully it stopped about a week after coming off the gel but it was really unpleasant. It also did horrible things to my skin which still hasn’t cleared up. Whether or not it was worth it I will find out today when I find out what the embryo quality is like 🤞

Yes, I'm still here, I'll update the list once I can get on my laptop - probably at the weekend so happy for hmmm to do it if needed sooner. I think the last one had all the BFPs on it but there are some new ladies - Evug, Lulujakey, Dab, Rose, Pelican, Jenbot - welcome to everyone.

Good luck for later Critter!

MATTSMAMMA · 09/10/2018 05:04

Ladies - on the pregnancy pages on mums net chat there is a lady who has just found out she’s pregnant naturally at 49 Grin she had her last at 42. A little bit of extra hope and positivity for us all Smile xx

MATTSMAMMA · 09/10/2018 04:52

Good luck CRITTER x

Evug1234 · 09/10/2018 03:22

Good luck critter..... I'll keep you in my prayers.
Booseysmom.... Please don't pay any attention to what people saySmile

Orchid222 · 08/10/2018 23:14

Critter good luck!!!
As for DHEA I'm happy to give it a try. I've been taking ubiquinol for over a year with no effect so time for something new, going with 50mg once a day, I figured that if they make them so strong there's no reason not to take it just once a day along with my other vits.

Just looked and shiny blackdog normally does it. Shiny are you still on here?

hmm123 · 08/10/2018 22:49

Yes good luck critter

Can we have an updated list, including those who have had BFPs .. that will cheer us up. I'm happy to do it

weasledee · 08/10/2018 21:56

Good luck critter!! We'll be thinking of you! Keep us posted Smile

Chatbash72 · 08/10/2018 21:45

@BooseysMom how rude of that lady, she can keep her opinions to herself.. sending lots of positive hugs..
welcome all new ladies
@DabofRouge Me too but I'm on 2nd month if ubiquinol x

Rose68 · 08/10/2018 21:42

Good luck for tomorrow Critter! xxx

shlink · 08/10/2018 21:24

Critter just popping to say best of luck tomorrow. Whatever happens, traffic jam, bad hair day, whatever, don't get stressed. Stay relaxed and happy. Then when you get home, if you can possibly just lie around for 48 hours eating nice food then do! Have a great transfer day.

DabofRouge · 08/10/2018 20:21

I think I’m too nervous to try DHEA, although it is tempting. I wonder how much more effective than Ubiquinol it is.

BooseysMom · 08/10/2018 19:25

Just checking in too ladies.

Welcome LuluJakey1 who asked to join a few pages back on the old thread.
Also welcome Evug1234
Good luck for tomorrow Critter xx
Re cycle length.. scarily mine are shortening and each AF is coming 5 days earlier than usual. A friend who is 49 said she has AF every 2 weeks!
Also I remember reading about pms worsening as you age and mine is most def getting evil!! It's always been bad and I've tried everything but the implant and obv not on anything vaguely hormonal now due to ttc. So I just suffer it every month and dread it coming. A friend advised me to try the coil and i confided that we're ttc no.2 and she said don't try and be happy with our DS. Her opinion is there's no hope in this world for future generations. I used to think like that but then I had DS! And anyway she has 2 kids herself! Shock honestly some people!!

Chatbash72 · 08/10/2018 18:53

@CritterTamer nor did I, @Orchid222 told me... good luck for tomorrow

Ameliel · 08/10/2018 17:42

Hi all, re-joining the new thread!
I had two very light OPK positives yesterday!! Negative again today... not sure if it meant I o'd yesterday or if my hormones are just all over the place... I've just come back from a trip to USA, gave up temping while there due to time difference and jet lag... so no idea what the temperatures would have shown for the last week. I'll start again tomorrow..
I bought some 25mg DHEA from US, it seems to be standard off the shelf stuff there...I've taken one tablet but skipped it today as I'm bit scared of the side effects! I'm thinking maybe starting with 25mg every other day, or do you think I should go for it properly??
Have been dtd lots with DH recently, fingers crossed the OPK + yesterday was real! I will keep you posted! Good luck for tomorrow Critter!! X

CritterTamer · 08/10/2018 17:27

Hi all, didn’t realise everyone had moved over already - been wondering why the other thread was so quiet LOL.

@Rose68 - your FSH will be correct - mine was 5.4 when tested a few months ago 😊

Welcome @Evug1234

Embryo transfer day tomorrow - so nervous already! Haven’t heard anything from the clinic which means at least a couple just be still hanging on in there 🤞

Chatbash72 · 08/10/2018 16:54

🤦‍♀️🤣🤣🤣 thanks @Orchid222

Cleozeta · 08/10/2018 16:32

From reading online most people take 75mg spread throughout the day at mealtimes

Rose68 · 08/10/2018 14:58

He didn’t specifically say, but he did say you need to take enough to make a difference. I said I was considering 50mg a day, and he seemed to agree, but didn’t actually say that he agreed (if that makes sense). Do you think you would take 50mg in one go, or 25mg in the morning and 25mg in the evening?
He also said it would take 2-3 months to make a real difference.

Cleozeta · 08/10/2018 14:50

Did he give you an idea of how much you should take?

Rose68 · 08/10/2018 14:31

I asked my acupuncturist about DHEA - he said to definitely take it unless your testosterone levels are high. He seemed to suggest that if your testosterone levels are high you might be quite hairy. Smile
I intend to start taking it as soon as it arrives! x
