@Ameliel - I had thin lining - 6.8mm on natural cycle and 9.3mm on first IVF cycle which failed. Prior to this second cycle I had acupuncture every other week for a couple of months and drank raspberry leaf tea - lining was 12mm and the cycle has worked! I can’t recommend acupuncture highly enough - it also lengthened my LP from 10 to 12 days.

CritterTamer · 19/10/2018 11:39

Clinic called with beta HCG results - 597!!! So a very strong BFP 😊 I honestly thought I would never get to write that here!

They said that it’s such a strong result for 9dp5dt there’s no need to retest to check levels are rising - I just need to manage and monitor the OHSS now as if my blood gets too thick the embryo(s) might be harmed so booked in to scan the ovaries and see what’s going on on Monday. Also have daily blood thinning injections to do.

Providing everything continues well we will find out whether or not it’s twins two weeks on Monday (now that it’s actually happening I’m completely terrified at that prospect!)

Dinah99 · 19/10/2018 11:39

@Ameliel walnuts are meant to be good for thickening lining and eating the core of a fresh pineapple... yep the core.... something to do with bromin x

Cleozeta · 19/10/2018 11:26

Ameliel - apparently raspberry leaf tea in the 1st half of cycle is good for that

Ameliel · 19/10/2018 11:11

And fingers crossed for you @CritterTamer too!

Ameliel · 19/10/2018 11:10

Ooh, congratulations @Rose68 , fingers crossed for a sticky bean! Xxx
Also fingers crossed for you @Russkispy !

Over here, my temperatures crashed this morning... promptly followed by very slight bleeding, red blood... so at least I've now had my period, finally, and can start charting properly. Trying to stay positive but I feel quite gutted as I had convinced myself that I was pregnant, with all the symptoms last few days! The power of your own mind - I was nearly sick yesterday , several times!

I know when I o'd and we had dtd lots of times around the date; but still no success... I'm wondering if my lining is too thin??. I read that a long time on the implant can thin the lining and it will need time to build up. The period I'm having is certainly very slight, some blood this morning and that was it..
any advice on how to encourage the uterine lining to build up??

Cleozeta · 19/10/2018 10:43

Possibly a virus then? Especially if its seems to be clearing up now. Still a good sign though! Fingers crossed

Russkispy · 19/10/2018 10:25

@Cleozeta don't even know what to think. With my both pregnancies never had that! Also never had any symptoms! That's why always been surprised to see the BFP . Really strange this time around. I'm just going to get on with it. Blood test on Tuesday which will be cd12

Cleozeta · 19/10/2018 10:19

Dsid - maybe go back to gp for more tests? Are you are sure when you ovulated? Good luck

Did anyone else see the fertility doctor on this morning yesterday? He was very positive about pregnancy over 40, it was quite reassuring! It seems the meghan markle pregnancy anouncement has sparked a few debates, even though she is only 37 she is still classed as 'geriatric'

Cleozeta · 19/10/2018 10:15

Congrats rose! Fingers crossed this is it for you.

Russkispy - how strange! Does ot feel like possible pregnancy? Or could it have been a virus? Our immunities are often lowered in very early prengancy too

Rose68 · 19/10/2018 09:50

When can you test @Russkispy?

Russkispy · 19/10/2018 09:44

Thank you @Rose68 . Still feeling queasy here. Looking at food makes me feel sick. Haven't eaten since Wednesday night. Just drinking water

Dinah99 · 19/10/2018 09:24

Ooh exciting @Rose68 xx

CritterTamer · 19/10/2018 09:00

@Russkispy you’re so lucky to be on progesterone tablets - my clinic make me use the pessaries which are truly gross!

Rose68 · 19/10/2018 08:45

Thank you @Russkispy & @CritterTamer, I am wishing the best fo you today Critter and for you Russkispy in the next couple of days. I think I’m 11dpo today, AF due Monday, or possibly Tuesday. I will test again then. x

Russkispy · 19/10/2018 08:36

@CritterTamer , I've been taking progesterone tablets since IUI day. And with all my IUIs but never had any reaction to it. I'm not a symptom spotter and yesterday just felt out of ordinary. Blood test to do on Tuesday and Thursday providing Tuesday is positive.

CritterTamer · 19/10/2018 08:25

@Russkispy are you on luteal progesterone support? If so don’t read too much into any symptoms - weird symptoms come and go all the time with it! Disappearing symptoms isn’t necessarily a bad thing 😊 When is your test date?

@Rose68 congrats! Fingers crossed it’s a sticky one for you 🤞

Russkispy · 19/10/2018 07:57

@Rose68 tentative congratulations! What dpo are you now?!
As for me, went to bed at 8pm, totally drained! Slept till 2am and just woke up. Diarrhea stopped yesterday lunch and I had solid stool in the evening. Sick tummy stopped some time around 4am. Think I'm back to normal?! What was that all about then?!

Dsid · 19/10/2018 07:22

Hi - I have done prolly a dozen tests. I have an irregular cycle but normally AF shows up within 40 days, its day 45 now. No sex since last 26 days (since my fertility window as per clearblue). Last time this happened, I tested positive on Day 60, miscarried a month later but at that time I was sexually active so might have even ovulated and conceived later. Even my GP isnt 100% sure about the answer. What should I do? Could I be pregnant at all ? Maybe a blood test? Argh this is annoying ...

Rose68 · 19/10/2018 07:06

OMG I have a faint bfp! Shock

Orchid222 · 19/10/2018 06:05

Critter how exciting! Keeping everything crossed for you!
Russkispy sounds promising, keep us posted!
Lets well done for going ahead with the clinic abroad and forget the past and the NHS, as we've all discovered many doctors have no sympathy for us oldies. Concentrate on the task at hand and good luck!
5 months to conceive for me according to ava....what a load of bs! 🙄
I too have been looking into fertility clinics and was going to go for it in Nov but I've probably run out of time for the next cycle since ov is around the corner...I'll keep you posted.

@Critter sounds like very positive new and congrats @russikispy!

@Booseymom how are you doing?

All results now sent off to IVF Clinic and waiting on what next, decided with a Clinic Abroad as options around me didn't fill me with confidence,

I got my Hormonal results from two years ago from my GP as I requested a copy so I could compare with now, my GP also printed off letters received from the Consultant at the hospital (the one who was very abrupt and nonchalant) saying she had discused Clomiphene with me and IVF, I can categorically say she didn't discuss Clomiphene at all (I don't even really know what this is) and when I asked about IVF she went got me a leaflet and told me at under 2% chance I would be better off not!

I am not sure if there is any point discussing this with my GP now as the course I am taking is independent of the NHS but just feel so let down by all the mistakes that have been made over the course of the past few years! so so frustrating that this happens!

weasledee · 18/10/2018 23:38

8 months..... hmmmm my bfp doesn't seem to be aware of this, nor has it checked out that website!!

Chatbash72 · 18/10/2018 22:07

@Cleozeta within 6 months for me..

Dinah99 · 18/10/2018 22:04

Cleozeta, mine was 9 months - well I'm month 7 of 9 so I'll cling onto any hope Smile
