Yeah thats why I have to use the preseed once the ewcm has dried up until after temps confirm ovulation. It's hard to get motivated though!

Dinah - definitely continue with opk's until you get a positive or until they start to go lighter or you may miss the boat.

Dinah99 · 08/11/2018 16:04

Thing is @Cleozeta and @Ameliel you're much more in the mood when you have ewcm when it's all gone I'm ready to go- "right that's it for a couple of weeks"- lazy I know but without the hormones kicking in it's harder especially after you've put in a week's run. Will have to summon the inner sex goddess Confused

Ameliel · 08/11/2018 15:53

Hi all, sorry I've disappeared for while; have been madly busy! Fingers crossed Rose, hang in there!
Cleozeta im finding what you said about ovulation after EWCM has gone, very interesting. I think that's just happened to me in this cycle. I had EWCM and positive OPKs two days in row, but temps only went up 2 days later! So I could be anything from 7 to 9 dpo at the moment. I think we messed up timings too, pretty sure I'm not lucky this month.. nil symptoms.

Dinah99 · 08/11/2018 15:51

@Cleozeta I wish I'd known about the Ava bracelet sooner, would've saved a lot of wondering, a bit late for me now. See I give up on opks when cm stops maybe that's where I've gone wrong.
x

Cleozeta · 08/11/2018 14:22

Dinah - I do cheap opk's, cbfm and temps (ava bracelet). I find that on the day of ewcm I get a mid-light line on opk and high on cbfm, then ewcm dries up after a few days and the line gets darker. Usually my 1st or 2nd day of peak on cbfm is ov day based on temps, but I have a slow rise.

Dinah99 · 08/11/2018 13:44

Hi @Cleozeta interested in what you say re ovulation, i wonder if I'm the same as I get flashing smiley faces and no peak when have cm, how are you checking ovulation -opk's or temps?

@Rose68 hang on in there, not long, they do say spotting is very normal try not to fret too much - easier said than done. Good luck tomorrow.
X

Cleozeta · 08/11/2018 09:46

Mimosa - I find I ovulate about 2 or 3 days after ewcm has dried up. So an average cycle would be ewcm on cd 11 & 12 and ov on cd14 or 15. Both bfp's this year have been after using preseed the day before ov. We can only dtd every other day so timing can be tricky!

Taxgirl - did he test you for high nk cells? Or did he just advise based on chance? Sounds interesting and he may have a good plan for those with that issue but I'm guessing his tips probably won't benefit those without nk problems?

Rose - it's a really good sign that the spotting is staying as spotting and not progressing to heavier bleeding. I would have thought it would have done that by now if it was over. The fact that its staying as just spotting suggests it may very well be fine. Fingers crossed for tomorrow, bet it can't come soon enough!

Russkispy - wow I've never heard of any of those things! Sounds like your doctor knows her stuff and you are in good hands

Russkispy · 08/11/2018 08:26

@Cleozeta I'm taking inofolic powder, progesterone pills 3 times a day. Estramon patches every day for lining growth. Prednisolon for implantation and till testing day. Vigantol for supporting implantation. All these were given by my doctor. I follow her lead

PetraRabbit · 07/11/2018 23:53

Taxgirl- sounds exactly like my story. Pretty easy conception with baby #1 born just before I hit 42, but a MMC and no luck since then....it's frustrating because you just don't know if that first one was just a fluke, or did your fertility plummet in the year you turned 42....or is it just random rolls of the dice and we'll get luck soon!!?? Hoping for the latter!
So interesting about the EWCM. Thanks!

Rose68 · 07/11/2018 23:11

Thank you @Taxgirl1, I’m so sorry for what you went through. The spotting continues, I just wish it would stop.

@DabofRouge - yes I took cassanovum for one month, the month I got my bfp.

Taxgirl1 · 07/11/2018 22:32

Rose, try not to worry -it's hard I know. The worrying won't help. Lots of women have spotting in early pregnancy.

Mellon - great news on your scan. That's lovely to hear that everything is going well

Taxgirl1 · 07/11/2018 22:29

Petra good luck with the less pressurised month. I always feel that I can be really chilled when I've got my proud and then when i feel that the fertile window is approaching I'm like a woman possessed!

Yes I have one little boy. I had him just before I turned 42. I was lucky - it was all very easy and happened pretty quickly. This time has been a different story 😱

DabofRouge · 07/11/2018 22:28

I’ve been looking into supplements for egg quality other than DHEA and ubiquinol. Does anyone have any experience with cassanovum (cassava root extract)?

littlemimosa · 07/11/2018 22:27

Mellon great news:)

Rose it’s all sounding positive.

Cleo so are you saying your most fertile time is in fact before or after ewcm?

Taxgirl1 · 07/11/2018 22:25

Cleo, I think I'm going to start tracking ewcm. I'm quite liking the days from the ava. Something very reassuring about seeing it all! Mr shehata is a consultant who Treats women with high NK cells - his theory is that your immune system basically goes into overdrive and rejects the fetus. So he uses steroids to suppress the immune system. It's not scientifically proven and it seems most of the medical profession think it's total rubbish but he does seem to have a lot of success... Who knows but I thought I'd see what he had to say. The pills he suggested weren't specific to me - just general advice. I guess the aspirin is to help with sticky blood but I haven't actually asked him that.

BooseysMom · 07/11/2018 17:37

Chat...sorry to hear AF struck!!

Wishing... sorry to hear about your chemical. I think I recall it happening.

Taxgirl...sorry to hear about your mc.

Mellon... good news about your scan.😀

Cleo..I have been mainly going by ewcm and I reckon the same as you..I keep missing the boat! Dtd 2 or 3x over the fertile phase just aint enough!

CritterTamer · 07/11/2018 17:03

Great news @Mellongoose, I’m so glad your scan went well 😊

Cleozeta · 07/11/2018 16:21

I track ovulation obsessively and have discovered a few things recently, one of them being that by the time I'm most fertile, ewcm has already been an gone, so I have to use preseed to compensate. Had I of dtd based on ewcm, the boat would have been missed.

mellongoose · 07/11/2018 15:34

@PetraRabbit they said that if I come back high risk then I can get it on the NHS for "cost price" which is £275.

Thanks again for the kind words ladies.

@Rose68 thinking of you and hoping all goes well on Friday.

Can't remember who asked but my BFP came when I dtd outside normal ov window. I think I ov a couple of days early.

Chatbash72 · 07/11/2018 14:57

@mellongoose fantastic news xx

Chatbash72 · 07/11/2018 14:56

Yes @PetraRabbit deffo throughout the month and especially on non ewcm days... my bestie conceived on the day her period finished.. and she's in her early - mid 40's.. I often throw out an early day 5 egg.. Mother Nature gets cheeky.. I don't use ov test strips either.. x

PetraRabbit · 07/11/2018 13:12

There's some really detailed advice here. Thanks for sharing! When you say don't wait for fertile times, do you mean plenty of TTC outside of EWCM days? I don't temp. Started with OPKs last month but don't really trust them. It seems all rules are different once you get over 40.
Mellon- that's wonderful. Heartbeats are the dream for all of us here! Did you consider a NIPT or Harmony test for peace of mind? They are really expensive. I wish the NHS did them for over 40s (or at least from 41 or 42) because paying nearly £500 hurts!
Rose- keep us updated. Hoping for you!
Taxgirl- have you already got any DC? Sorry wasn't sure. MC does take it out of you. It took me a couple of months to feel more stable too.

Cleozeta · 07/11/2018 12:22

Mellon great news about your scan! Step away from google, yoy've had the confirmation that all is fine, don't stress yourself unnecessarily. Enjoy it!

Rose - same to you, stop stressing abput what might go wrong and enjoy the fact that you are currently pregnant Smile

Russkispy - yes I would trust the doctor too! And it makes sense as you are taking other things for progesterone. What other things are you taking for implantation etc?

Russkispy · 07/11/2018 12:15

@Cleozeta , when I started taking DHEA it was cd5. I took it up to IUI day, cd11. And asked her right away if I needed to carry on with it. She said no! Restart if I get BFN. Separately I taking progesterone pills and other pills to help implantation and for a bean to stick. Guess I don't need to take DHEA after all. I trust my doctor 👩‍⚕️

Rose68 · 07/11/2018 12:09

Great news Mellon! Step away from google, perhaps I should take that advice too.

I know I shouldn’t have, but clear blue digital was back up to 3+ this morning. I’m still not confident for Friday though. What will be will be I guess x
