@justrying1 definitely, maybe start plonking the data into an app and you’ll get to know everything so much more x

JustTrying1 · 13/10/2018 14:08

@sunshine1987 no I came off the pill in March and don't take any vitamins / any form of medication that could make them irregular. No idea what it could be. I'm just glad I'm ovulating! When I got the two lines on the test last week I was so happy because I when ttc before, the doctor said it didn't look like I was ovulating.

sunshine1987 · 13/10/2018 13:51

@justtrying1 it’s so much harder to work it all out when your cycles aren’t regular. Have you come off the pill recently? Or taking any vitamins that might be making it random? That’s the good thing about OPK’s or temping, it gives you more info about what’s going on x

JustTrying1 · 13/10/2018 13:48

Ooo yeh @sunshine1987 that would make sense. I think I was just panicking based on say, 27 day cycle - then it would be early.

I'm glad I've got the ov strips now because it will probably make sense of my cycles a little bit, and I can check the luteal phases. That way when we do eventually go to the doctors I can go packed with all the information they need.

So basically I should wait until next weekend to test.

I do wonder why I'm having such random cycle lengths though

sunshine1987 · 13/10/2018 13:43

@justtrying1 if you got your positive last Friday and say ovulated last Saturday, today you would be 7 days post ovulation at day 30. If day your longest cycle was 34 days, if you had that again this month you would have a lutheal phase of 11 days which is totally fine x

JustTrying1 · 13/10/2018 13:26

When I got the positive on the ov strip I was worried that would mean I have too short luteal phase to get pregnant and wrote it off. But now I've just sat down and gone through the dates I came on over the last few months I know it's going to be difficult to work it out based on when my cycle started.

sunshine1987 · 13/10/2018 13:22

@justtrying1 welcome 😊 would leave it until about 14/15 days after your positive OPK just to be safe. So if you got your positive last Friday I would wait until next Friday to test xx

cupcakesandglitter · 13/10/2018 13:21

@summer28 congrats ❤️ xxx

JustTrying1 · 13/10/2018 13:19

Sorry didn't finish my post, phone kept going funny.

So basically, no idea where I'm at. Don't know when to estimate dates AF due!

I've told DH I'm not going to the doctors until next year though. I don't want any stressing or pressures of tests etc just yet.

JustTrying1 · 13/10/2018 13:17

Can I join please??
I'm 32, trying for our first but for me the is the 2nd attempt at ttc (ex and new husband).

Had consultation for ivf in previous relationship due to my low progesterone levels and his low motility.

I'm currently on day 30 of my cycle, expecting AF any day soon... Although my cycles have been speradic between March and now - 27, 34, 27 and 29 days - this one being 30 so far.

First month of opks this month showed I ovulated last Friday.

.

MrsC87 · 13/10/2018 13:03

AF got me today, cycle day 1 for me.
How are you doing @Lougg have you tested yet?

ValidUser · 13/10/2018 13:01

Congratulations @summer28!

sunshine1987 · 13/10/2018 12:34

@crossfitgirl yeah exactly that. So now worried the tests will be done at the wrong time in the cycle. I think I’m going to call Monday and just see what they say. But at this rate instead of having them Tuesday I should have it Thursday/Friday x

Lougg · 13/10/2018 11:44

@rosti hold out if you can. You risk getting a false negative if you test too early. If you can wait you could save yourself some unnecessary disappointment

Lougg · 13/10/2018 11:35

Congratulations @summer28 what wonderful news!

rosti · 13/10/2018 11:32

And congratulations @summer28!!

rosti · 13/10/2018 11:30

Hi all. Do you think it's better to do an early test if you suspect pregnancy or wait until the day your period is due to avoid potential disappointment? Obviously no right answer, just wondering what you would do.

I have one expired pregnancy test (oops) in my possession and so I was going to wait until the missed period to buy more so I don't get my hopes up. I'm 11dpo, af due Tuesday or Wednesday.

Crossfitgirl · 13/10/2018 11:08

@sunshine1987 haha no it didn't sound shirty, it's just sods law isn't it the one month you need it regular! Are you having day 1 / day 21 tests? I'm having that, and I'm worried the timing won't be right as I don't ovulate til cd17... and i have heard you're meant to have it around 7dpo but GP wouldn't believe my OPKs and insisted I must ovulate cd14 as I have 27 day cycle. so it's prob gonna fall around 4dpo x

sunshine1987 · 13/10/2018 10:46

@crossfitgirl sorry that last post sounds shirty reading it back lol, wasn’t meant to be. But I know you’re right and could be anything, just a bit frustrated the one month I needed it regular lol x

sunshine1987 · 13/10/2018 10:45

@crossfitgirl no I can’t be certain but my cycles are regular and this month just happens to not and coincides with taking it. Normally wouldn’t care but have blood tests booked that have to be taken on certain days during my cycle x

Crossfitgirl · 13/10/2018 10:43

Thanks @fivexfive that's really good advice. I have asked to be supported on a stress management course, so I think I've decided that unless they agree to that, I'm just going to withdraw my application. Need to choose life over work!

@summer28 yesssss called it! Haha. What were the symptoms again? I can't remember it seems ages ago now! How did OH react?

@sunshine1987 can you be certain it's the pregnacare? Lots of things can affect your cycle, not just vitamins, and also sometimes your cycle varies for no reason at all. Maybe try it for a couple of months before deciding? My cycle hasn't changed much since taking vits, it's been 1 day longer this last 2 cycles, but then it's been getting gradually longer since coming off the pill anyway, so could be anything Xx

FlapJackered · 13/10/2018 10:41

OMG @summer28 congratulations!!!! Such good news!! 🎉🥂🥂🎉

@Crossfitgirl oh no that doesn't sound very kind of your DH, but good that you know that he likes the direct approach and that you managed to get the job done 😂
We had success too, DH is much better with morning sex as he is already standing to attention when he wakes up. It was a really good one actually and I woke him up with a massage which he said he really liked.
Flashing smiley today so no messing about now!
Have a lovely time in Italy 🇮🇹 xx

Does anyone else find that all the sperm just seems to fall out after sex? I can't see how any of it gets where it needs to go when it's coming out for the next few hours.

FivexFive · 13/10/2018 10:34

@Summer28, Woooo!! Massive congratulations :)

@Crossfitgirl, if your gut is saying the new role isn't worth it, I'd say listen to it to be honest. Unless there's a Big incentive (pay etc) to power through. Especially if they'll let you slip back into your old role (where it sounds like you were happier) without too much issue. I had a similar thing in my last job; was pressured into taking a team leader position. It was a bit more money, which was nice and of course it was a bit of an ego boost to be wanted etc, but overall it was just waaayy more stress for not much reward. But, I should stress, that company wad all kinds of F'd up, hence why I'm no longer there! If your company can offer you some support while you get used to the new responsibility, it could be worth powering on? Anyway... enjoy your holiday! Eat lots of pasta, take lots of pictures :)

MrsC87 · 13/10/2018 10:10

Congratulations @summer28 💕

sunshine1987 · 13/10/2018 09:24

Whoever advised not taking pregnacare as it increased their cycles I should have listened to you, first month taking them and should have ovulated today but not even a slight second line on an OPK. Bloody annoying 🙈
