@mrsR16 Fingers crossed it's a good sign! Keep us updated! X

Teachermummy83 · 30/09/2018 18:18

Thanks @CrossFitgirl. Been trying for about 18 months but had to miss quite a few cycles due to being on other medication, hubby having an operation and also actively avoiding landing in the ‘too pregnant to fly’ time for our trip to Oz next weekend (the irony! 🙄) Feels like FOREVER though!!!!!
Sound more positive @Mrs20118 x
Fingers crossed for you @MrsR16 x

Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 18:00

@MrsR16 could be in with a shot hun, keep positive ❤️ x x

Ladies, I'm super confused now. I started spotting this morning at 12 dpo. Am I clutching at straws and could this be IB or is this AF on her way 3 days early?

mrsof20118 · 30/09/2018 17:32

Thanks @crossfitgirl. Couldn't test as said too early and wouldn't give a clear answer at this point.
Bleeding has settled a bit today and more brown hardly any red. I'm still expecting the worst but treating my body as if I am until I know things are back to normal too. Long wait until sat ish to test to check it's a negative. Resisting the urge to order some cheapies from Prime! X

EssJayyCee · 30/09/2018 17:18

@crossfitgirl I will get some then!
That's good that your cycles regulated after being on the pill! Maybe mine have too and I just have a longer cycle than most. I can't really tell as like I say this is only my second cycle since being being off the pill! Maybe 45 days is my regular cycle length. In which case, according to my fitbit I am just in my fertile window!
calls DP Grin haha.

Oh, can you do that?
I've always wondered if you can request blood tests for things like fertility or

No I haven't really thought about it.. I'll Keep going as I am for 6 cycles and see what my cycle is like before going back to the doctors.

I am really reluctant to go to the doctors because they never seem to want to help me.
I rarely go to the doctors but for the last 8-10 months I've been getting alot of water infections that i can't get rid of on ny own and they don't like giving anti biotics for them. In July I got one and left it trying to fix it myself it got worse and worse went to the doctors in early august and he told me to just t ake ibuprofen so I did... I read online you shouldn't take ibuprofen because it makes it worse. Low and behhold it got worse and went back a week later and was finally given antibiotics. and it cleared up. Now it's back again.

I just seem to have problem after problem. I'm sure I'm just broken!

Sorry for rambling! I obviously needed to get it out of my system!

Crossfitgirl · 30/09/2018 17:01

@essjayycee I mean now that you're ttc xx

Crossfitgirl · 30/09/2018 16:45

@EssJayyCee yeah that's a good price! I get the one step ones from Amazon it's about £5 for 30, but I have prime so it's dead easy!
Totally get you with that, I have PCOS and was put on the pill for years and years to regulate me. However, after coming off the pill in Feb, I have been regular! so I've just thought I'll see what happens, might not have any problems after all. I also know it can take a year even if youre healthy, and its taken 6+ months for most of my friends so ive tried to stay as realistic as possible and try not to get too down or worried.
I am, however, going to the docs tomorrow just to see if they will check my hormone levels.
We've only been trying since may, (condoms til then) but I'm going to say we started trying in Jan or Feb I think. I just want to check that it's not a pointless exercise moving forward or if there is something up they can do something now to optimise my chances.

Have you thought about going to docs about irregular periods?

EssJayyCee · 30/09/2018 16:10

@crossfitgirl i am only worrying so early because I've always had irregular cycles and always thought deep down that I was unable to have kids. Now it's coming to TTC and being unsuccessful it feels like my body is just confirming my thoughts! I went to the doctors about my irregular cycles and without testing for anything their immediate response was to put me on the pill. Which just masks the issue if there is one. so I'm still none-the-wiser!
I'm not going to do any pg tests anymore. I'm going to get some OPK's do my thing and just wait it out. I need to be strong for myself so I don't end up driving myself crazy. Which I have managed to do this month!

I've been looking at OPKs on eBay.. is 50 for £5.45 A good price?

Kescilly · 30/09/2018 13:14

I can see the benefits in waiting to test and I generally didn’t test except for this last cycle where I could feel something was different. And I’m a nervous wreck about my BFP, but I’m also glad that I know. It means that I can alter my behaviour and stop taking meds that could be potentially harmful.

If I didn’t drink alcohol or caffeine, didn’t have any medical conditions, etc., then I would have waited longer to test.

FivexFive · 30/09/2018 12:57

Think of the money we'd save on tests!! X

cupcakesandglitter · 30/09/2018 12:43

@FivexFive I think that's a really good idea - I've read on threads that women whose AF never turns up, are advised by the doc to wait until the next cycle anyway.. if AF hasn't turned up for me in the next week I'll definitely consider not testing! Although I may still do OPKs in case I ovulate again? FRERs do bring stress too!!!! Xx

Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 12:25

@FivexFive @Crossfitgirl I don't think I'd hold out that long hahaha but defo could hold on maybe another week xxx

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 30/09/2018 12:16

@fivexfive that's a really good idea with the deal, cos then he's making the effort when you want it, and you're making the effort when he wants it. You're both thinking about each other then. I love it! Might suggest that next cycle!

@delilah7 I think what Five is suggesting is a good idea, saves the potential heartache of a chemical, but waiting all the way til the next due AF seems a long time doesn't it!

FivexFive · 30/09/2018 12:12

@Delilah7, ok so this is going to sound weird but stay with me... I talked to a friend who is older and already been through the ttc game. She advised me that early detection tests cause loads of extra stress. Apparently the best way is to time it as best you can, but then TRY to wait and not test. If af is late, she actually recommended waiting until my NEXT one is due before testing! That way, the result will be more accurate and you're past some of the most dangerous time?? Now this advice was given with best intentions, but obviously also with benefit of hindsight. It sounds impossible, but also I see the logic?! Just thought I'd share, would be interested to see what you ladies on here think? Xxx

FivexFive · 30/09/2018 12:04

@crossfitgirl, hope your manager is supportive on Tuesday! Good luck :) I've handed a load of my original duties over to a new girl to focus on doing accounts. It's exciting but scary, the admin side was my work baby so handing it all over feels like a loss of control! It'll all be good in the end though :) I still have some smiley sticks left, so will probably use them to try and get my ap up to date with accurate info. Then I can just use that to track it all, hopefully! We have a deal: I make more effort on non smiley days and he steps up when we get a face!! Xx

Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 12:00

@Crossfitgirl no af still. Normal cycle before miscarriage was 28 day's. Cycle after MC was 30. And this one is now 32 days. Yep. I took two really early the week I was due. And one literally a few days before AF was due... I'm just so confused hahaha. I just want it to come if it's coming.... 😘

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 30/09/2018 11:43

Ok here goes next lot of replies!

@delilah7 still no AF? How late are you? Could be that your periods are just a bit thrown off since MC still? Your last cycle wasn't a normal length was it? Hate this waiting game! Any symptoms??

@essjayycee yes use OPKs and totally worth it. I use cheapies and I think I prefer them to clear blue as the clear blue missed my surge this cycle but the OPKs are cheap enough to use 3 a day!
(Ok... sometimes 4 🙄)

Welcome @teachermummy83 it's a slog isn't it. How long have you been trying etc?

@cupcakesandglitter maybe just count them all as you're tearing at the same time, and make a note of your sleep pattern, and see what it says? I personally find interrupted sleep doesn't seem to affect my temp but that's just me, I know it's not the same for everyone.

@feverbee NO!! Don't do it!! You won't believe the test anyway! Step awayyy from the stick. Away!

@delilah7!!! 3 digitals?? Come on now, you're a bad influence on poor @feverbee 😂 although you're late so I'll let you off. Sorry for BFN though. Eugh I just want to know for you!!
Also sorry you're feeling shit, do you have chocolate available? It's Sunday, take a nice bath or something maybe, relax? You have all of us to vent to anyway:-) we're here for you.

Welcome @summer28 :-)

@validuser I've had a runny nose for a few days so my SSP is back. I also don't feel pregnant at all, so obviously I'm one of those people that doesn't get symptoms so I must be pg!! Not due on till next weekend how about you?

@mrsmcntobe you know what I had the same thing 3-4dpo. Could be the egg travelling down the tube or implanting? That's what I'm going with!

@dovegreylove see my last post for DH problems, we all have those issues sometimes, and mine downright turned me down in the whole ovulation week last time !!! They just don't get it and sometimes need repeated education on actually TRYING to concieve.... yes DH that means having sex when you aren't always in the mood!
Alternatively, me, @flapjackered, @delilah7, @cupcakesandglitter and a few others (sorry prob missed loads of us!! But that's all I can remember!) have discussed the many ways in which we force sex upon them 😂 And there's many many ways. The best one seems to be just getting naked and straight to the point... hehe!

@mrsof20118 have they not scanned or anything or would it be too early? Thinking of you today, fingers crossed it is something and nothing, and it it's not a sticky bean we are all here for you xxx

@lougg catching up is a nightmare isn't it! How's the house stuff?? Nice to see you back xx

MrsR16 · 30/09/2018 11:40

@Crossfitgirl thanks Hun, but as I suspected it was a BFN! Had some spotting this morning which was weird but had nothing since!

Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 11:15

@Teachermummy83 bare in mind i took one like Thursday or Friday! X

OP posts:
Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 11:15

@Teachermummy83 it's annoying as I've took a digital but they aren't as sensitive. Or it could just be I'm not pregnant! But it's weird for me to to be honest.... I'm not expecting it but I keep going to the toilet as I'm abit watery down there lol so keep thinking it's AF. Boobs are tender too!

Good idea. Have a relaxing holiday hun. When you don't think about it it'll probably happen! xxx

OP posts:
Teachermummy83 · 30/09/2018 11:11

Oh @Delilah, that’s so annoying! It’s the ‘am I, Aren’t I’ waiting that I find most frustrating!! Will keep everything crossed for you - this thread is due some good news!! x

I’ve decided I’m gonna try and not even think about babies or TTC this month, as September has been such an emotional rollercoaster for us. We’re away on holiday next weekend so hopefully that’ll take my mind off my empty uterus (and I can drink wine and lounge in hot-tubs to my hearts content! -That’s the only up-side to this months TTC disappointment!) I just need a wee while off - hopefully relaxing might help xx

Crossfitgirl · 30/09/2018 11:03

Ok ladies, catching up! some of this is very late so if my replies have already been answered, it's cos I'm copying and pasting my replies as I go along and haven't got to the last part of the thread yet!!

@essjayycee lots of the symptoms you had - tingly nipples, headache, dizziness etc and spotting can all be normal parts or your cycle as well as pg symptoms. For me I've found they aren't the same each month - one month I have sore boobs, next month I don't, next month it's sensitive nips, next month it's dizzy spells. I think mother nature tries to confuse us bit also we are so much more in tune with ourselves when ttc!

YES I feel like something is wrong with me, I'm on cycle 6 and sure it's me. Cycle 2 though, I wouldn't worry. It's very rare it works first time! Also, TOTALLY with you on the DH not being up for it thing. A few of us have issues with DH not getting on board, not being in the mood... we've had some right discussions on here about how best to basically rape them 😂😂

@cupcakesandglitter @katbecool @delilah7 I think internet cheapies OPKs all the way as I can waste as many as I want! I find CM monitoring really hard, cos once I've got it and have sex, I then don't know if it's more EWCM or if it's just sperm still coming out for days after!

@mrsR16 good luck on the testing this weekend xx

@wildcatseverywhere 6 days late!! What's going on, fingers crossed for you that it's a BFP eventually! Sometimes it appears much later than your period is due so I've heard.

@fivexfive thank you, I'm getting better at saying no and I do need to learn to delegate! I worked all night Friday and worked all day yesterday and prioritised my to do list, I plan to go to my manager when I'm next in on Tuesday for some advice. Hopefully I can offload some things maybe. How are you? Are you OPK-ing this month?
I am with you on DTD in non TTC time too, got to make them feel needed... haha even though technically it's just their sperm maybe 3 days a month 😂

@senorasurf 👋 hey!

Ok got about halfway down. Gonna try read a bit more and reply to some more!!

Delilah7 · 30/09/2018 10:38

Still no perioddddddd. 😭

OP posts:
EssJayyCee · 30/09/2018 09:53

@stormtrooperjulien Ahh thank you. I work long days mon-fri so wouldn't be able to do it multiple times as I wouldn't be able to do them at work! I have 2 hours at home in the surge time slot!
