Hello and welcome@wearytree, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Pop over to this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/pregnancy-loss-thread-27-BFPs-are-coming as this one is full x

Wearytree · 05/12/2018 03:10

Hi ladies,
Can I join? Ttc cycle 6, one mc at 5:1 and just had bloods done for LH and FSH. My FSH was higher than the GP wanted at 9.1.

Has anyone got experience of this?

Dimblebimble · 29/11/2018 08:23

So I took an frer and I can actually see a faint line, which came up quickly (see pics) after the mc I tested with an internet cheapie and it was blank, but I used one again this morning and it was still blank, so maybe it wasn't picking up low levels of remaining hug? There is a very slim possibility it's a new pregnancy as it's 10 days since we first had sex post mc but I've been taking ovulation tests (again, internet cheapies) and I've had no sign of ovulation.

Got a gp appointment for half 10z

Yukka · 28/11/2018 19:35

Hi Ladies - started a new thread as we only have 12 posts left. if you can pop in and roll call then we'll be all set xx

@ceallaigh I also had a tfmr at 17 weeks earlier this year. It was absolutely heartbreaking as it took me and DH over two years to get pregnant.

@tinypaws it was my due date just last week as well. I still feel really sad thinking about the baby I lost. Hope you get good news with your ivf soon.

I am treading on eggshells at the moment as just got my bfp today. Af is due tomorrow so just keeping everything crossed at the moment and praying for a sticky bean

Tiniestsky · 28/11/2018 18:06

Hey ladies, so finally had a scan today after bleeding 2 weeks ago and had it confirmed it was a mc I had, totally gutted of course as a part of me hoped against all odds that baby bean might have made it.
I'm also, believe it or not, grateful that it happened fairly early, quickly and painlessly as I know a lot of you here haven't been as lucky.
Now to wait for AF to come along and try and get back into a routine, can't make heads nor tails of when that'll happen as still have hcg lingering about.

I feel like the second time round is going to be a terrifying experience 😩😭

MakeLemonade · 28/11/2018 16:31

Thank you for the warm welcome and sorry you’re all here too but glad to have found you.

I’m tracking my cycle from this month and have some cheapie ovulation sticks that will hopefully do the trick. Like you say, it makes me feel like I’ve got some control over all this.

I’ve had reflexology this morning which I absolutely love, it was recommended on a few blogs re baby loss and it’s really helped relieve some headaches I had been having. I’ve also thrown myself in to gym, yoga, personal trainer etc to make sure I’m in the best shape I can be for TTC in the new year.

It’s really dull. I really want to drink all the wine and eat all the yummy Christmas foods.

@TinyPaws waiting on IVF outcome and what would have been your due date sounds like a really tough day/week. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a BFP for you!

@Dimblebimble I’d get checked out, I’m not 100% sure what MVA stands for but it’s not something I’ve experience or read about and I had a surgical TFMR which I think might be the same thing?

Lilimum5 · 28/11/2018 16:30

@Dimblebimble that's a good idea just to be on the safe side hun. It could be nothing. Also a negative hpt is a good sign. Please let us know how you get on tomorrow.

Dimblebimble · 28/11/2018 16:26

@Lilimum5 @DayDreamer1707 that was my inclination too, that maybe there's something left. They did the mva with an ultrasound though, so surely they would have seen it? I had a negative pregnancy test by 2 weeks after the scan, although I was only using internet cheapies which aren't very sensitive. Can't phone epu now as in work and don't want people to hear, but might queue up for gp in morning...

DayDreamer1707 · 28/11/2018 16:04

@TinyPaws I'm so sorry you are feeling that low and down. And i'm so sorry today is your due date, send you lots of hugs, you must be finding it very difficult. It's crazy how long you have to wait for some actual help. I hope this IVF does work for you but maybe hold out on testing as long as you can. I'm only 2DPO and the TWW is killing me so I will probably be the biggest hypocrite if I have any form of any symptoms I will want to test early x

TinyPaws · 28/11/2018 15:54

Feeling a little fed up today. It's my due date.

Had a phone assessment from the local NHS psychological therapies service. I can wait a month for a face to face assessment, then if they decide to offer me a service it will be a 4-5 month wait. I've already waited over a month for phone assessment.

9 days until I find out if this IVF cycle has worked. (Although who am I kidding, I'm totally going to test early).

Ceallaigh · 28/11/2018 15:45

Thanks @DayDreamer1707

Lilimum5 · 28/11/2018 15:23

@Dimblebimble have you had a negative hpt yet. I don't mean to up set you but it sounds similar to what I had and I had retained products. It might be worth speaking to a doctor or midwife just to put your mind at ease.

DayDreamer1707 · 28/11/2018 14:36

@Ceallaigh welcome and so sorry to hear what you have been through. I'm sure you will find lost of help and support here x

Ceallaigh · 28/11/2018 14:19

Hello, hope you don’t mind if I join you ladies. Recently had a TFMR due to fatal fetal abnormalities at 15 weeks so I’m back on the ttc train. This is our first so we’re jumping right back into it in the hope that we’ll have our rainbow soon xx

DayDreamer1707 · 28/11/2018 13:58

@Dimblebimble Don't worry about asking questions, this is technically what we are all here for. I didn't have MVA surgery so i'm not sure if they said any of the above symptoms that you have had as a side effect? Personally because things are causing you pain I would say call the EPU or your GP it's always better to be safe than sorry. x

Dimblebimble · 28/11/2018 13:27

Hi everyone, sorry it's me with a question again (sorry feel like I'm asking lots of questions and not giving much advice so far!)

I mentioned last week that when dh and I had sex for the first time after my Mva surgery for missed miscarriage (just over 2 weeks after) it caused pinky red discharge the day after.

Well last night we had sex for the second time and it was fine, but I was woken up in the night by terrible cramps, like did done 2,000 sit-ups and my muscles had spasmed! It was awful, I really struggled to move but when I got into my side the pain eased and I went back to sleep.

I feel okay today though. Since the miscarriage I have been having mild to moderate pain (I think in my cervix but hard to tell) when I really need to wee or poo/fart, and occasionally general twinges at random times (sometimes when I lie on my side in bed).

Does this all sound normal? Or should I go to the gp? I wondered whether my cervix is just sensitive still?

I've been doing opks (though just internet cheapies) since I stopped bleeding and I don't think I've ovulated.

DayDreamer1707 · 28/11/2018 08:18

@Yukka, thank you I will keep on top of tracking, kind makes me feel like I have some control 🙂 do you think it's best to continue testing with the OPKs throughout this cycle? I am hoping for this cycle to go well and be back on track.

@ratherbeshowjumping I was too and we did technically try but I didn't test on OPKs or anything so don't really know if I ovulated at all. I didn't want to use any test either because I know you can get a lot of false positives with all the hormones left in your body, which can make you drive yourself even more crazy. I was secretly praying not to see the negative but when I did and then got AF it can gave me the kick up the ass to be like 'right I know what I want now'. But it kinda gave me something new to focus on too. I know it's so hard but don't put too much pressure on yourself, DTD wants the bleeding has stopped but also be prepared for AF but try and see it as a fresh start x

ratherbeshowjumping · 27/11/2018 23:04

@DayDreamer1707 this is the thing - I'm keen to just dtd as much as possible, I really don't want to have to go through another period, I think in my current mental state, another sign that I'm not pregnant will just be a huge kick in the teeth.
I'm aware that we were really lucky that it happened so fast last time, I just hope we experience the same luck this time.
I can't imagine seeing a BFN, the midwife advised me to test a week after I stop bleeding 😢 I just find the "moving on process" really tough.

@Yukka thank you. I'm glad it sounds like you are a lot more settled this time around. Sorry if you've mentioned this upthread, but how has the acupuncture helped? I've always been quietly cautious of things like that but am willing to try anything that may help and also give me some peace of mind that I'm doing something to help that may work! 🙈

Yukka · 27/11/2018 22:45

Sorry my feed has only just updated properly. Glad you were negative @Laney79 it is better in the long run for you. I really hope you don’t have a third. Statistically he’s right but it’s not helpful when you ‘are’ in the 1% that’s has 3 or more mcs. Hopeful for you xx

@straweberryr glad you are feeling better and have some traction at least for the future.

@makelemonade sorry to read your story, how awful. Time is a great healer and you will feel ready again. You’re right it’s a different perspective when you realise how fragile pregnancy is. We don’t get taught about the bad parts. I can recommend Dr Lesley Reagan’s book ‘miscarriage: what every woman needs to know’ she runs the specialist clinic at st Mary’s in London and has pioneered the trials and tests for everything that is known today. It’s an informative and useful read xx

Yukka · 27/11/2018 22:33

@lilimum5 really glad yesterday went well. Hope you can rest and you can heal quickly xx

@ratherbeshowjumping really sorry to see you here. Hope you recover quickly emotionally and physically and are able to focus on trying again x

@daydreamer1707 hopeful for tww! Either way you’ve done good tracking your cycle so keep looking for healthy cycle symptoms... a second estrogen surge post ov can produce more mucus again and if you do get af pay attention to what it is like, certain pain, whether af is clotty of flowy etc it will all help you get to know your body better and small changes you can make to improve your cycle quality.

@serenaoverjoyed and @haleyfx glad you are getting early scans booked in. So far so good xx

I collected my heparin testerday, or at least 2 months worth. Boxes of individually prepared injections ready to go. I’m going to gp tomo for flu jab (serena and Hayley get yours too) and to be shown what to do so will starting administering on Thursday morning. Fingers crossed it’s straightforward. Consultant has also booked in first scan for Monday, I’ll be 6w2d so hoping to see a heartbeat but it is early.

It’s weird, considering the journey to get here, this feels like the first pregnancy I’ve ever actually believed in. Like I’m not kidding myself with the risks or over confident but I feel ‘connected’ and balanced. I think the acupuncture and yoga has had a lot to do with it and would highly recommend. I’m going to carry on with both.

@straweberrye how are you feeling Hun? X

DayDreamer1707 · 27/11/2018 21:07

@ratherbeshowjumping I suppose it is, I wouldn’t of know if I’d of ovulated if I didn’t use the ovulation test because I’ve never really taken notice of my ovulation symptoms or anything before. We had the approach of it if happens it happens the first time. Where as now after the MC we know we want a baby more than anything. At first I didn’t want to wait for my first AF but I do think it’s better in the sense that any tests symptoms or whatever I may get I know it’s down to the new cycle, not the MC if that makes sense. Was awful seeing the BFN test and the arrival of AF but it also meant we could move forward. I can’t wait to be pregnant again either ☺️ x

ratherbeshowjumping · 27/11/2018 20:03

@DayDreamer1707 that's really quick, I usually have a 24 day cycle & ovulate around CD11, I think, so hopefully won't be waiting too long. Was expecting people to reply with a good 5/6/7 weeks, out of sync cycles. Fingers crossed.
I genuinely cannot put into words how much I am craving to be pregnant again.

DayDreamer1707 · 27/11/2018 19:51

@ratherbeshowjumping this will be my first proper cycle since my mmc on the 15th October. I don’t know if I ovulated the cycle right after as I never knew before. I used the one step ovulation strips to help me figure out this cycle, currently 1DPO. So this cycle began on 14th of November and I ovulated around CD13 so not too bad really.

@MakeLemonade I’m so sorry to hear what you have gone through, I couldn’t begin to imagine how you just of felt. This is a great supportive group. Once you are able to try again everyone is always here and happy to help x
