After all that desert sand, we are in serious need of slightly damper place...

This one is a hamam, complete with essential oils and thick Turkish towelling bath sheets. Mosaics on the floors, marble pools. You get the picture. It still needs some decorating though.

We have had a few graduates (OK, quite a few), which is good, but time to dust off the old Hut for those of us who are still barren.

sorry, just found out that my cousin is pg 2m after having her dd and wants a termination. coz it "not the right time"

lissie · 27/07/2007 22:18

really losing faith/hope/whatever fast. i cried today as i took my test partly coz i was so scared it would be a bfp and partly coz i was scared it would be a bfn. i didnt think it would be this hard and that i would fail so spectacularly. all i want is to have another baby. but im terrified of getting pregnant again,

i know im being selfish, i have one ds, im lucky to have him... but every other day i hear about someone else who's pregnant "by accident" and im so lonely.

duchesse · 27/07/2007 22:10

Oh Lissie. Wanna talk about it?

bit pants tbh.

mslucy · 27/07/2007 19:29

I actually feel a bit pg but then I can feel sick before AF.

Next tests have to be taken on cd2-5 and are for fsh, lh etc.

Just want to get them over and done with.

How are you feeling anyway?

lissie · 27/07/2007 18:56

know that feeling! i tested today too, even tho i dont feel pg at all and af's due on sun, suppose its habit! whats the next test?

mslucy · 27/07/2007 17:37

hello there ladies.

Hope you are all well.

Just did something I haven't done for months - took a pg test.

it was negative - don't worry, I'm sure I'll be here for a good while longer. It was a proper one so I can't kid myself it was too early etc.

basically I need AF to appear so I can have the rest of my tests. I had the most violent cramps on Tues/Wed which made me think uh-oh, here comes the old witch.

My cycle is 27/8, so I was expecting her Tues/Wed/Thurs.

No show.

And I feel sick.

But test was negative and I bought a First Response, which says you can test 4 days before AF due.

I think my body is just taking the piss - when I need AF to appear for the tests, she goes all shy and retiring on me!

Hi Huttees,

Have not been on for awhile so have just been catching up with everyone.

Ms Lucy, we have something else in common, no fillings! well almost in my case I do have one teeny weeny one which I had at 33!

Glad your results are coming back ok, was going to ask how the dreaded HSG went but don't think you have had that one yet?

I rang up to book mine with great trepidation yesterday but they can't fit me in for this cycle and coward that I am I was more relieved than anything else!

I was scared just getting the swabs done cos my last smear hurt, that was ok until she pulled the thing out and then it did hurt!

So DH and I are still seeing a Gynae consult on 23rd August but when we see her I will only have had my day 3 blood result and the swab results and DH sperm results. There does not seem to be any obstacles in the way of DH and I going for it this month around the crucial time so I live in hope that can avoid the HSG!

One thing I do not have in common with you is an aversion to retail therapy, that works every time for me! sorry about burglary by the way.

Hi to everyone else, sorry to turn my post into a chat with Ms Lucy but i have made her my ally cos of having things in common.

I am just recovering from stomach bug which last sunday night was foolishly hoping was morning sickness, have not eaten much all week and going to use it to kick start a diet. I am not fat, just have growing amounts of middriff fat which is compounded by full time sedentary job, no exercise and a normally massive appetite!

last time i dieted i got really skinny and then got pregnant so hoping it will work like that again!

lissie · 27/07/2007 09:46

great start, whats next?

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 24/07/2007 19:03

Well thats a good start mslucy

mslucy · 24/07/2007 14:44

lissie · 24/07/2007 08:35

TSM, ikwym. ive been avoiding all my old ttc threads like the plague. not feeling generous enough at the mo.

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 23/07/2007 23:59

Good luck tomorrow mslucy

I cant face the ttc thread AF arrived early on Sunday so there goes another month and a newbie who I only put on the thead this morning got a BFP I felt like crying which is stupid I am being a git to my DH really moodie and feel like I am under a cloud AHHHHHHH and read half of Harry Pottie and like an idiot cant sleep as keep having nightmares yes like a 10 year old

oh this is rubbish

Sticki · 23/07/2007 21:32

mslucy - really really sorry to hear about the burglary. absolute bast**ds
Good luck with the probe! (if you are going for a scan it'll fine as long as they warm the lube!)Good luck for the other tests anyway.

mslucy · 23/07/2007 21:05

hello fellow gloom mongers.

Was burgled on Sat night - an absolute shitter.

fortunately no one hurt - ds, dh, cats, me all ok.

taken my mind off all this stuff, which can only a good thing.

Also went to dentist for the first time in ages and still have no fillings, even though I'm nearly 37.

My womb/hormones/ds's sperm whatever maybe a bit rubbish but my teeth are bloody marvellous.

Now who'd have thought a trip to the dentist could have put a smile on my face?

Off to hosp tomorrow with a pot of spunk and the joyous treat of a vaginal probe.

Bring it on.

lissie · 23/07/2007 16:06

totally understandable duchesse. it must be very liberating. wish it didnt have to be like this tho. x

duchesse · 23/07/2007 16:04

Hi all, Just popping in to say that I'm having a month off by design. First time in over 4 years. Plus I'm away from home for these precise couple of days mid-cycle. I just don't want to spend half a month wishing and the other half wondering, just for once. It's very liberating. I think I may be becoming reconciled to not having another child. Which is bittersweet in many ways. But hey- no temping, no agonising. It's got a lot going for it.

I am actually getting to a place where I don't think I'd mind much any more whether it happens or not. I just need to stop trying, and if reckless disregard is the only possible way forwards, then so be it. I'm not sure I'd be overjoyed to do a Cherie Blair though, I must say...

Attila- thanks, but im ok i'm always like this after i stop contraceptives! i havent long had a mirena out.when i last stopped conctraceptives it took about 5 months to get regular again, and then i got pg.the same the first time too!obviously if it takes a year or more to get pg, then i will seek help.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 21/07/2007 15:34

Scorpio,

If your cycles are like this (28,13,41,43,34) I would have a blood test done to see what your hormone levels are like because this is certainly an irregular cycle.

A "normal" cycle is a cycle day of between 21 and 35 days or with less than 4 days of variation from month to month. Also any cycle over 35 days is more likely than not to be anovulatory. It is quite possible to have periods without ovulating.

Hormonal imbalances are often to blame for such problems; these can be treated but you may need to seek out a gynae rather than your GP to do this. Your GP should refer you to such a person. In this regard too a condition called polycystic ovaries is a common culprit. Another possibility is thyroid problems.

First and foremost though you need a diagnosis.
