After all that desert sand, we are in serious need of slightly damper place...

This one is a hamam, complete with essential oils and thick Turkish towelling bath sheets. Mosaics on the floors, marble pools. You get the picture. It still needs some decorating though.

We have had a few graduates (OK, quite a few), which is good, but time to dust off the old Hut for those of us who are still barren.

i keep saying it, but the irony is that we spend our late teens and early twenties trying NOT to get pregnant. if i hear about one more aquaintance whos "knocked up" and doesnt know who the dad is, its all a bit of a surprise and they dont know if they want it, im going to scream!

kensgirl · 08/06/2007 13:36

hi kensgirl. life is truly shit isnt it. you just know that if you were 16 and out shagging strangers every night you'd have at least 4 kids by now [grr]

Hello, Ladies. Please can I come in and look aound...? Today is cd 1 for me, and I have to say I'm feeling completely crap. I don't think it is ever going to happen and I am doomed to be the infertile one that there is in every family and group of friends. My cycle is averaging out as only 23 days after the miscarriage, with the odd one a couple of days longer. I think I ovulate around day 10 or 11, as I had pains around then, and cm a bit pink. So, I don't think it is lp problem, but am scared there has been some damage done after the erpc, or just that I've left it too long.I feel such a complete failure, and dh just repeats "It'll happen soon" like a bloody parrot. An this was my last chance before my due date too - 1st July. I'm thinking about staring acupuncture next week too, but just keep sitting here and drying, feeling very sorry for myself. I know lots of you have had it much harder than me, so hope you don't throw me out of here. I've brought Turkish delight and raki........?

Hello, I'm still barren too. Do we get masseuses in here? Bring on the essential oils: Not like I'm going to need to avoid them.

lissie · 08/06/2007 08:42

ikwym, you have to constantly push them and convince them that youre not just some hysterical woman who wants a baby NOW.

glad im not teh only one whos happy and a bit sad about the graduates tho.

Docs not interested in the slightest. Bloody Devon. Staffed by MCP fifty year old physicians.

Shall make appointment next week to have my thyroid sorted out; shall see nice registrar GP who is v hard-working and v knowledgeable. I shall demand they do something. Have not felt right for years, and am very pissed off they are refusing to treat me. According to any research I've read, the only way is down for my thyroid, so why not treat me now, while I am still young enough to get pregnant?
Probably because as soon as I'm on thyroxine, 1) I'd get free prescriptions* and 2) for ever more, as you never get off thyroxine.

*Actually I don't think I should get free prescriptions for everything. I think it's absurd. For the thyroxine yes, but for aspirin or antibiotics should I need them? Ridiculous.

How are you anyway?

I have to say that I am glad about the Hut dwellers who have made it, but there's no doubt that the successes make one feel even more left on the shelf. And I know that they will occasionally poke their heads round the door and cheer us on in a non-chirpy way.

oh shit! im sorry. is there nothing the docs can do?

duchesse · 08/06/2007 08:24

Crap. Hauling myself stolidly towards my period. Again. For the 45th time since stopping contraception (plus 3 months being pregnant) Can't be bothered to temp. Don't even want to shag any more. Am pretty much about to throw in the towel. No pun intended.
