After all that desert sand, we are in serious need of slightly damper place...

This one is a hamam, complete with essential oils and thick Turkish towelling bath sheets. Mosaics on the floors, marble pools. You get the picture. It still needs some decorating though.

We have had a few graduates (OK, quite a few), which is good, but time to dust off the old Hut for those of us who are still barren.

oh scorpio, im sorry. its shit isnt it?!

Impatience · 11/06/2007 17:12

Scorpio, bring the language on: ds is at parroting stage so I am a suppressed swearer!

Even though we KNOW we shouldn't be jealous, it is very hard when someone just gets something so easily you're trying for so very hard. And even though we KNOW it's undesirable to be judgmental it is very hard not to be when someone seems to be being irresponsible (read: putting the cards in favour of a bad outcome..?). Put the two together and it's painful.

TTC after 6 weeks does seem a bit dim. What a kick in the teeth.

scorpio1 · 11/06/2007 12:14

its shit isnt it? the bloke she is with i know, he is a 100% lovely bloke, but he has never had his own child before.....deciding to have a child in 6 weeks is nuts imo.they're not even living together yet...she has just got a house. i just get so pissed off that here ia mwaiting with everything 'right'. sorry for my language too, im so rubbish today [cry]

duchesse · 11/06/2007 12:11

Oy.my.god, scorpio... No wonder people end up with ex problems, if they can make such enormously life-changing decisions so very quickly. Poor kids... I always used to be amazed at the number of 11-13 year old I taught whose surname changed from one day to the next, sometimes several times a year, depending on who their mum was bonking at the time. It certainly does not make for cohesive family groups...

duchesse · 11/06/2007 09:04

Well, here I am on day 28, just waiting for the inevitable period. What fun.

Impatience- you might be. Might take a few more days before a positive test though. Am crossing everything there is to cross for you.

Impatience · 08/06/2007 22:25

I'm too miserable to even reply.

Doh.

duchesse · 08/06/2007 22:16

I think we can go for pragmatic Middle Eastern. With alcohol, yes.

I need putting down too, Ipatience. All I've done all day is mope around the house. We went to the pub before and I even cried there because there was a woman with a tiny baby boy AND I WANT ONE.....Dh cooked dinner, bought wine, waited on me hand and foot, and all I can do is obsess over what I havn't got.

Now is a good time to get that Champagne (although that is surely for celebrations...?) and I've got strawberries and chocolate too. Duchesse? Not very middle eastern I know, but I'm wrapped in a soft robe, with a delicious masseur rubbing my feet too.

(No,sorry, my,mistake, its just dh...

lissie · 08/06/2007 21:11

oh impatience, you really are going through it arent you? its not fucking fair is it!

i know i have a son. and i know that there ae lots of women who dont have that but it doesnt mean that it doesnt hurt.

Impatience · 08/06/2007 20:19

Nice weekend for you then Scorpio if you've done your exam! Here's another age-related assumption then: Surely in your early 20s you don't need to try to shag like rabbits Or does parenthood cripple you whatever age?

I am turning into a seriously miserable bitch. Have had a few pregnancy announcements recently, and have found them all tough. Now someone has just announced their engagement, and I've taken it the same way . Turns out I'm just bitter about anyone else's happiness . Dp predicted a pg friend is pg with twins and I became furious at the prospect: It's not enough she conceived number 1 and number 2 while I've been trying, that now she's going to stab me in the eyeballs by being uber successful at it. Someone just put me down now [mangy dog emoticon]

Seriously, without being too dramatic, I am struggling at the moment: A real trough of a few days. Have been incredibly short-tempered with ds and crying all over the place. Nice friend (albeit homophobic and with 'perfect' pregnant wife...) just called me out for a drink. Don't think I could bear either bursting into tears or shouting at him down our local. If I weren't bleeding and wracked with period pains I'd suspect I was pregnant. And then sob for the stupidity of the idea.

Crikey, bet you're all really pleased I've come back...

impatience - i have just finished revising [wahoo!] i did my exam on thursday - in Social Policy. good luck with yours!

Lissie - thats ok, i just need to make the point sometimes that teenage parents are not ALL bad. i was pg as soon as i left school at 16, again at 19.my babies were and are my world. i understand though when you are faced with a high number of girls who are pg and not so sure about it, it must be heartbreaking, especially in our situation. i still dont understand why girls dont know about condoms, or not sleep with so many people unprotected! IMO anyway, not wanting to start a debate.

Kensgirl - bloody periods! im cd6 and mine has just finished today.

So, my cycles have been 41 days and then 43 days last 2 times - when roughly do i ov and when shall i shag like mad??

Impatience · 08/06/2007 18:27

A never-ending glass of champagne would be nice, Kensgirl! Gotta revise all bloomin' weekend. Now I'm such an old A Level-er I'd better do it in style

kensgirl · 08/06/2007 18:25

hello scorpio, sorry to see you here.. cd 1 for me

lissie · 08/06/2007 18:24

sorry, scorpio, didnt mean to be insensitive. its just that i know 4 people who are under 18, pg and didnt want them. two of whom dont know who the dad is. am just feeling v bitter and sorry for myself today.

scorpio1 · 08/06/2007 17:29

i had babies in my teens and wanted to get pg! now im early 20's and want one now too its not easy, even at that age.

kensgirl · 08/06/2007 17:24

Sorry Lissie, the computer crashes half way through that post, but I do know just waht you mean. Hi Impatience, Sods law about the exam eh? At least you wil probably score 110%. Hope the Turkish delight is tasty, personally I'm finding the raki more useful today. What else can I bring....

Chocolatedays · 08/06/2007 17:23

Evening all - I felt brave (or bored!) and had a rumage elsewhere on MN and found this - a true classic
Cxx

Impatience · 08/06/2007 16:05

Absolutely ladies. Thanks for the Turkish Delights, Kensgirl. Welcome!

I'm doing some A Levels in a couple of weeks for job reasons. Do you think sitting here revising and doing mock papers will kid my body that actually I'm 18 again, and make me all superfertile again?

Probably not. Probably I was never even remotely fertile.

Pah.

Guess what's in my Biology syllabus: Fertility, conception, the whole blooming hormone cycles, even a BBT chart! Just rub it in why don't you.
