Hi all,

I’m 33, DP is 36 and in second month of ttc#1. (Am fairly new here so don’t know all the acronyms). I have pcos so realise that might be a challenge but have a fairly normal 28 day cycle. I have been totally taken in by all the conception gadgets and have bought a Clearblue fertility monitor and am waiting for the Ava bracelet to arrive... mental I know!!

I find the 20 somethings in other ttc threads a bit intimidatingly young, perky and fertile, but recognise those in the 35 or 40+ threads may have different experiences, so don’t want to be an under-age imposter!

Anyway, if anyone is in the same boat and wants to share their journey (fingers crossed ending up with a BFP!) then post below... xxx

Hi. A bit late to the party but can I join? I'm 33 and DH 35. TTC #1. Cycle 7 or 8 (I've lost track). Have a history of horrendously heavy and painful periods but last 5 or so have been very light...had some initial tests but day 3 and 21 appear to be fine. No idea why and it's playing on my mind a lot. I usually track but and cm using a couple of apps. Looking forward to sharing tips and support with you all. Will catch up on the thread during my morning commute 😁

mrsof20118 · 26/09/2018 22:09

How is everyone? X

FlapJackered · 24/09/2018 07:53

Can I join please?

I am 30 DH is 33.
Cycle 4 (started ttc in March) . CD28. 11dpo.
Af is due on Wednesday so desperately trying to avoid testing until then. 🙈

I have massively irregular cycles that have ranged from 29 days to 56.
Ovulation took me by surprise this month as the opks didn't work so we didn't Dtd as much as we should have so I am not too hopeful. 😕
I am charting bbt, taking IC opks and clearblue and taking a truck load of supplements!
I am having a scan to check my ovaries soon and get my 21 day bloods back tomorrow.

Congratulations to the bfps!!! I hope this is a lucky thread!

Claudia84 · 21/09/2018 07:29

Yep going slightly crazy and googling everything to do with ttc and then realising I’ve actually already read it!
I’m 7dpo and I’ve told myself I’m not going to test at all this month just going to wait until AF is here or not. We’ll see. Something tells me I’m out this month so I’m just starting to think about next now. Booo
How’s everyone else doing?

BabyClicks · 21/09/2018 06:41

@Claudia84 How are you doing? I am still going slightly insane waiting to test and I'm only 6DPO. I might try that rain dance you speak of... Can't hurt, right? I'm trying to hold off testing until after AF is due (14DPO) but I will maybe definitely test around 12DPO.

Good luck to everyone testing soon!

mrsof20118 · 19/09/2018 19:55

Congrats @lifechanginglemoncake

thinkpositive2019 · 19/09/2018 08:09

Congrats on the BFP !!!

Implant removal was on Wednesday and af arrived this morning so hopefully my cycle is ready to be tracked

Holly5633 · 19/09/2018 08:03

Congratulations @lifechanginglemoncake that’s great news!!

Claudia84 · 19/09/2018 07:37

Congratulations @lifechanginglemoncake!
@babyclicks I’m 4dpo as well. I mean., what exactly are we supposed to do for this 2ww thingy? There should be some sort of rain dance you do every day to increase your chances Smile

lifechanginglemoncake · 19/09/2018 06:51

I'm sorry but I have become one of those people who posts their BFP two days after joining a group.

Got the BFP last night and confirmed again this morning. Partly I joined the group as I was having some symptoms (cramps, feeling hot, slight nausea) but also aware that I am very good at tricking myself into having symptoms for almost anything at the drop of a hat.

Good luck to everyone else in the TWW. Hope you get your BFP soon too.

Smileyface32 · 19/09/2018 06:28

Congrats to the Bfp so far!
Can I join too? I’m 32 and DH is 34. We’re on cycle 3 at the moment and on 7 dpo at the moment. Just wondering what the normal wait is before you see the doctor?

BabyClicks · 19/09/2018 04:29

@mrsof20118 - That is confusing, but awesome! My cycles were really messed up after the pill too, so it is easy to mix-up O dates. What counts is that nice strong line :) Congratulations again. Send some baby dust my way please, I'm 4DPO and already dreading the rest of the 2WW. We nailed the BD timing, but as I keep having to remind my DH - that still only means a 20-25% chance if everything is working correctly!

mrsof20118 · 18/09/2018 21:02

@babyclicks really am confused about when I conceived. According to my app it’s saying implantation is only just happening now but I’ve had a faint positive on frer test and a 1-2 weeks pregnant on a clear blue digital. So maybe my period wasn’t a genuine one and was just the withdrawal bleed from pill and then who knows when I ovulated?! Very confused!

Holly5633 · 18/09/2018 20:46

This seems like such a positive thread I had to comment. Congrats to all those with BFPs. I’m 32 and my husband is 30. This so cycle 1 of trying properly with OPKs. I’m 8DPO feeling quite crampy and boobs are aching but I am trying soooo hard not to analyse every single symptom as so many of my friends have told me they didn’t feel any different until at least 6 weeks so anything I do feel is probably in my head. Good luck to us all x

BabyClicks · 18/09/2018 07:59

Oh wow Mrs20118, congratulations! I thought we were CD buddies, did you O super early? I think I'm only 2DPO now.

mrsof20118 · 18/09/2018 07:21

Thank you!

Claudia84 · 18/09/2018 07:17

How exciting! Congratulations

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 17/09/2018 22:12

Congratulations!!

gebs · 17/09/2018 20:18

Congrats mrs! StarStarStar

mrsof20118 · 17/09/2018 19:39

Hi all. Been catching up on the messages. Positive thinking.

I also couldn't resist doing a test mega early on Sunday morning. Very faint but very shocked to say the least x

ForTheLoveOfDoughnuts · 17/09/2018 18:47

I really had thought I'd be taking it easy. Enjoying this journey Wink but it's very stressful. The unknown. I'm glad there are others who feel the same and I'm not too crazy! Grin

lifechanginglemoncake · 17/09/2018 16:46

Can I join too? I’ve never joined a message board before but I’m going a bit nutty symptom spotting. Also I don’t know all the acronyms so sorry if I make mistakes.

I’m 33 and my husband is 36 and we are TTC #1.
We are on cycle 4 but only really tracking for the last two.
AF due on 19th Sept so I am well into the TWW and trying not to obsess (failing). Had a BFN last night but could still be early. I would usually expect some spotting in advance of AF by today but so far nothing.

I’ve been tracking my cycle using clue for a while and have a fairly consistent 27 day cycle and I also get ovulation pain every month so I havent bothered testing or charting ovulation so far as I was trying to keep it casual. If it doesn’t happen this month I might start being a bit more scientific.

Fingers crossed for you all.

Claudia84 · 17/09/2018 12:11

I feel exactly the same. It’s that I don’t want the next year to be dominated by charting!
I think we have the same friends lol!

DoveGreylove · 17/09/2018 09:54

Hi @Claudia84 :)

I have been going through a similar thing this year so I really know how you feel. I have had 8 pregnancy announcements this year, a lot of whom are due next month. It's been really tough for me (had to wait to TTC because of visiting a zika country).

You are right we have to stay positive and I have to remind myself that it is totally normal for it to take up to a year to get pregnant. I think my sadness is more for the fear of the tough journey that I am about to embark upon rather than my period starting today. If you know what I mean? It just doesn't help when so many of my friends tell me "it'll happen soon, I got pregnant first cycle!" :(

Claudia84 · 17/09/2018 09:05

And @dovegreylove I totally get where you are coming from. Let’s stay positive together.
It’s totally normal for it to take more than one month reminds self
