Hi all,

I’m 33, DP is 36 and in second month of ttc#1. (Am fairly new here so don’t know all the acronyms). I have pcos so realise that might be a challenge but have a fairly normal 28 day cycle. I have been totally taken in by all the conception gadgets and have bought a Clearblue fertility monitor and am waiting for the Ava bracelet to arrive... mental I know!!

I find the 20 somethings in other ttc threads a bit intimidatingly young, perky and fertile, but recognise those in the 35 or 40+ threads may have different experiences, so don’t want to be an under-age imposter!

Anyway, if anyone is in the same boat and wants to share their journey (fingers crossed ending up with a BFP!) then post below... xxx

Hi all!

I'm 32 in a few weeks and DP is 35.
TTC #1
Started trying without tracking cycles since December, but properly tracking since April.

Congratulations on the BFPs @inkworks273 and @gebs 💐💐

inkworks273 · 09/09/2018 10:10

Congratulations @gebs!!

Yes, I tracked ovulation. I have a period tracker app that I've filled in every month for the last year and a half so I had a good idea of what my cycle was. I also noticed ewcm so I knew I was fertile. Still wasn't expecting to get pregnant as this is our first month trying.

I hope everyone else in the thread gets good news soon!! Xx

inkworks273 · 09/09/2018 10:07

Thank you. I still can't believe it. I know it's still early. I'm only 3 weeks and 3 days so I'm trying not to get ahead of myself.

gebs · 09/09/2018 10:07

Did you track ov or anything different?

gebs · 09/09/2018 10:06

Congrats inkworks! I think I have my bfp too I'm hoping this is a lucky thread for everyone! Xx

Maximoo06 · 09/09/2018 09:45

@inkworks273 congratulations Smile

stormtrooperjulian · 09/09/2018 07:21

@inkworks273 looks like a great line to me! Congratulations xx

inkworks273 · 09/09/2018 06:55

Oh my god. I just took a test and there's a line!! I feel like it must be some sort of mistake. What do you think?

Hi everyone, I'd love to join :) I dont feel like I fit in when I read all the TTC threads with the under thirties but I also feel I don't quite fit in with the over 35's yet either!

I'm 33, husband is 33 too. We are TTC #1 and in cycle 1. Currently in the "two week window". I'm very nervous about the TTC journey as who knows what it will bring and what it has in store for us.

Lovely to meet you all! X

Maximoo06 · 08/09/2018 18:53

@Lorraine1985 did you know you had endometriosis before or have any signs, I'm due to have laparoscopy soon and I know they will probably say that's what I have even tho hycosy didn't show up blocked tubes.

Lorraine1985 · 08/09/2018 18:37

@AmyinNLondon I had several Dr appt and gave bloods etc. Then referred to hospital for ultrascan they couldn't see any reason so had a laparotomy in may and they said I have endometriosis not badly though because my Cycle was getting longer they said clomid is next option for me I'm on 50mg this cycle but he said to double up too 100g if not successful first time. If this doesn't work I have to go for ivf. Crossing everything.

BeautifulSlang · 08/09/2018 13:18

@AmyinNlondon Thank you. I was heavy bleeding, with painful cramps. I passed a clot and after that the pain stopped so I just knew. Went to the GP to confirm. The silver lining is that because I conceived she said I will again. Just sadly CP's and early miscarriage are sadly, quite common.

Maximoo06 · 08/09/2018 09:43

@AmyinNLondon yeah I have also stopped drinking this month and trying to cut down on caffeine too

AmyinNLondon · 08/09/2018 09:34

The symptom spotting is the worst. I totally convinced myself last weekend because I felt a bit nauseus and was tired, but it was because i’d had one too many wines at the weekend... (have now stopped drinking this month!). Was so disappointed when AF arrived...

So sorry to hear about your experience @BeautifulSlang. It must be an emotional rollercoaster. Have you seen anyone about how it might effect your cycle in the short term? Sending virtual hugs.

@inkworks273 keeping my fingers crossed for you..... let's hope it's our month Smile

inkworks273 · 08/09/2018 09:19

@Maximoo06 Yeah I totally understand that feeling! Technically tomorrow is the first day I can test with a frer as that's 5 days before the start of my period. Like you I don't know if I can stand the disappointment. I'll see how I feel tomorrow morning.

Maximoo06 · 08/09/2018 09:14

@inkworks273 no I'm to scared of the disappointment as deep down I know I'm not Sad sometimes AF can be up to a week late for me so don't think I would test unless I'm 2 weeks late. When are you going to re test?

inkworks273 · 08/09/2018 09:05

@Maximoo06 Have you taken a test yet?

Maximoo06 · 08/09/2018 09:01

Symptom spotting.... it seems like we all do it Grin
My AF is due any day now but as a lot of symptoms are similar to being pregnant I keep thinking is this my month!!

stormtrooperjulian · 08/09/2018 08:47

Hi, can I join?
I’m 31 and on CD1 of cycle 2. Had my implant out in July and I seem to be back to 28 day cycles which is good I guess, I was worried that it would take months for things to get back to normal.

BeautifulSlang · 08/09/2018 08:24

I'm 31, as is my DH. We are TTC1. Had a BFP 2 months ago, which sadly ended a gew days later in a CP. I've never felt such a wave of emotion in a matter of days. Cycles been pretty messed up since.

gebs · 08/09/2018 07:38

My husband and I are both 30, stopped the pill after 12 years end of May. Luckily my cycles have returned though are a little longer than most (34 days on average ish)

The first couple months I did no tracking, and knew nothing about timings, so this month is my first proper trying month. Downloaded flow and bought some cheap ovulation sticks, got a very close 'almost positive' before running out so think i ovulated last weds/thurs. My period is due in 6/7 days, took one of those '6 day early response' tests yesterday but was negative. Don't feel much different to normal other than tender boobs and feeling hot. But any slight cramp/twinge gets my brain symptom spotting 😂

I also have a hormone imbalance - produce too much prolactin which is being treated by tablets, apparently these tablets should help ttc but I am a worrier haha!

mrsof20118 · 08/09/2018 07:15

@inkworks273 hard to not though! I've got a few fr waiting for when I might need them
