New thread ladies! @PastaSauceHoarder @Goostacean @Barker26 @crazychemist @DoveGreylove @springsummerautumnwinter can't remember who else to tag.

I know @cupcakesandglitter has linked us to a new thread but I'm not sure I am strong enough to be surrounded by those TTC already!

@ValleyFire thanks for the welcome.

Yeah I’ve been very fortunate and skiied since I was small, as we were stationed in germany with my dads job when I was young. Its our last time skiing probably until our kids are old enough to ski too.

I understand the fear of skiing, I had skiied with no fear from 4ish then suddenly at 12 i lost all my nerve and was petrified like a total beginner. But its not as scary as it appears, and the scenary, feeling of skiing down the mountain and all the hot chocolates make up for any iffy parts haha!

When are you hoping to concieve. Will you take any conception vitamins or anything?

ValleyFire · 09/09/2018 20:36

Hi @manycatsandallthegin, I'm new to this thread too! Welcome!

Skiing sounds like fun, have you been before? I always think I'd be too scared to go for it!

ValleyFire · 09/09/2018 20:34

Thanks @dottydally and @McHelenz! Hope you both have fab holidays that are worth the wait!

My Dr told me only need to wait 6 months if dh has any zika symptoms, otherwise it's 8 weeks for men too? Will definitely have to wait until June if he does get any symptoms!

Plan is to cover both of us in mosquito repellent every day 😂 - I've trailed through so many of our hotel's reviews on trip advisor and quite a few say didn't see any mosquitoes there so fingers crossed!

Manycatsandallthegin · 09/09/2018 20:28

Can I join in with you lovely lot?

Me: 27 (28 next week)
DH: 29 (pushung 30)
TTC: January 19
Reason for waiting: we have a skiing holiday booked Hmm plus ive been on the pill for 8 years so want to have a few months after this current pack for my body to sort itself out.

I have no reason/family history to be concerned but I am still worried about being able to concieve - has anyone had this fear despite having no reason to think we would struggle?

I literally cant wait to start TTC and then to have a little one to add to our family!

Good luck to you all!! Grin

McHelenz · 09/09/2018 20:09

Hi @valleyfire

If you're travelling with your partner to a Zika area it's a 6 month wait!! That's why I'm having to wait until Feb.

@dottydally I keep obsessing over Cossattos....

dottydally · 09/09/2018 19:43

@Pinkroseuk look on the bright side - you still have internet!

@ValleyFire welcome! Zika seems to be the reason a lot of us are waiting. I'll also be waiting until February I think, but fortunately for us it's just me travelling (not DP) as I think it's 6 months for men?

If it's any help, my cycles went straight back post pill. I've had a couple of wacky cycles where I've been a bit late but nothing compared to what some deal with!

Hi everyone!

I've been stalking this thread for a few weeks now and finally getting the courage to send a message! Can I please join?

Myself an dh are 29, like some others of you got a holiday booked in a zika zone in December and will need to wait until Feb to ttc. This will be our first. Been getting super broody lately and can't stop thinking about babies/pregnancy and starting to worry about my biological clock so Feb can't come round quickly enough! Although I've decided to stay on the pill until after our holiday to make sure I don't get my period while we're there, so it might be a little while after Feb when my cycle gets back to normal 🙁

Hope everyone's had a good weekend! 😊

Pinkroseuk · 09/09/2018 18:37

@dottydally we have been looking recently too- browsing is so tempting to buy though - especially when there is a good offer on!
We're currently getting blown away at 40mph winds in our tent!

dottydally · 09/09/2018 17:34

@McHelenz that's really good!

I'm not doing well today, I've spent my time looking at prams and car seats... does anyone know what they might want?

OP posts:
McHelenz · 09/09/2018 09:34

@dottydally we joke about having kids (we went to B&M and he was messing with the toys and he was saying when we have kids they'll have this etc etc.) I also had to admit to him how skint I am and he's made a plan to clear my overdraft and when to start saving! He's the more sensible one. He's also talking about us trying to loose some weight and it's one reason I've decided to start CBT.

I wanted to go to do the German Christmas Markets this year and he won't let me because I should be saving!

I was googling accupuncture last night 😂. That was my next part of my TTC plan!

dottydally · 09/09/2018 09:25

@McHelenz it will be amazing! You'll look back and be pleased you did it I'm sure. We keep talking about doing one last holiday but won't have time before we want to ttc. So there's a chance I could go pregnant! A bit nervous though as this is no. 1 so I've no idea if I'll be sick etc!

No no not at all. I draw the line at buying clothes though. Might buy the odd thing when we ttc but don't want to jinx it! How is your DH about it all?

OP posts:
McHelenz · 09/09/2018 09:17

@dottydally I just keep trying to think it's going to be an amazing holiday and something I'll never do again.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who trawls baby clothes/ items. I get a bit embarrassed by it 🙈

dottydally · 09/09/2018 09:10

Welcome @McHelenz @bubblegumunicorn & @Nesscous

@McHelenz zika is rubbish! I have extended our wait by 2 months because I'm travelling to a zika zone Sad you'll have a wonderful time in Mexico though.

@PastaSauceHoarder I can ice skate well as I used to compete when I was little, but that was a number of years ago. I forget I'm not as good now and got a bit cocky and fell over. Very bruised bum!!

How was the hen do? I've only seen a stripper once but as others said he focussed on the bride to be so I was safe!

@Barker26 you got bunnies???? So so cute! How are things in the barker house? (I can't remember how long you've got to wait).

I had been doing so well. But it's pouring here and that woke me at 5am so I've been browsing baby clothes for the last 4 hours Blush

We did the west coast tour 4 years ago. It was so good!

Nesscous · 08/09/2018 19:25

Hey Ladies! Hope I can join, this is my first post on here, been a quiet onlooker the past week or so and it's great to see so many women in the same shoes!

When TTC: new year (2019)

I've just removed the Mirena coil of 5 years a few weeks ago and we want to start trying as of next year - don't have a concrete start as we will see how we feel once Christmas is out of the way. We are in the same boat as others; want to do that final trip as just us (thinking about road trip west coast USA) I'm relieved to see your stories of similar goings on and gain more insight!

Barker26 · 08/09/2018 14:39

Hi all sorry for being AWOL! Been settling my two bunnies in.... grins
Just going to catch up on the thread hope everyone is well! X

Pinkroseuk · 08/09/2018 07:50

Thanks @PastaSauceHoarder and @dottydally
Lovely to see so many new people joining the thread :)

Hope all goes well tonight @PastaSauceHoarder - it wouldn't be my sort of thing either!!

We're off up to Edinburgh this morning (well it will probably take all day actually!) for a weeks camping - got all the tent in the car just trying to pack up clothes and food! I always seem to pack too much!

bubblegumunicorn · 08/09/2018 07:49

Age 27
TTC #1
Waiting till November - going to Orlando don't think that's an ideal place to be when pregnant!!

Hi guys thought I'd join in here as the wait is killing me!!

McHelenz · 07/09/2018 22:06

It did, it was like booking our wedding all over again haha.

2 weeks all inclusive 😊. It's for my 30th!

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/09/2018 20:33

I might have to! I guess I'll just have to see what tomorrow night brings. 😂

Wow so you've certainly been waiting for this holiday! Two weeks there sounds amazing, are you all inclusive as well? I bet it felt bloody ages away when you first booked it haha.

McHelenz · 07/09/2018 20:06

Oh god! Maybe go to the loo at that point. But I'd assume they'll target the bride!!

I'm going for 2 weeks. Really excited 😊. It's been booked for 18 months!

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/09/2018 19:57

@McHelenz oh yes definitely! I've not been to Mexico but I've heard great things. Smile How long are you going for?

I've not met 90% of the girls I'm going out with tomorrow night so I'm not sure how its going to go. An older and far more experienced lady I work with told me that I mustn't shy away from the strippers otherwise I might get picked on by them. Blush

McHelenz · 07/09/2018 19:35

Thank you :)

Its disappointing about the wait but I'm just trying to believe that this will be the last big holiday we will have together so need to enjoy it!

Oh no! I've never seen a stripper either, I dont really know how I'd cope haha. I think I'd just have to have a couple...I've found hen parties can be hit and miss, depending whose planned it!!!

PastaSauceHoarder · 07/09/2018 19:07

Hi there, McHelenz! It sounds as if this is the thread might suit you well. I'm sorry to hear that you're having to wait longer than expected due to zika, how disappointing. ☹ It sounds like you've been going through a lot, this thread is a good place to unload if you need to. Flowers

I know what you mean about pining for winter, @dottydally! I am SO DONE with warm weather. Its been pretty cold here today which has been nice. Smile
Ice skating sounds great though!

Well my weekend should be eventful. Its my soon-to-be sister-in-laws hen do tomorrow night, and a couple of months ago her head bridesmaid told everyone to pay a certain amount for a ticket to a show. Well naive little me thought 'ooh lovely, I love a good show' and scraped up the money.
Turns out its a bloody male stripper show isn't it. Blush
I am the absolute last person to go somewhere like that, I'm such a little human mouse. I've never been on a hen do before so its all new territory!

McHelenz · 07/09/2018 16:54

Hi Guys,

I've been stalking these forums for a bit but I've only just found this thread and am wondering if it suits me best.

basically I'm 30, 2 years married and desperate for a baby. However we are flying to Mexico a week on Monday for a dream holiday - thought I'd only have to wait 8 weeks to TTC and was devastated to find out it was 6 months :(. (bloody zika)

April is well and truly circled in my diary! Is this the right place to chat?

Im trying to use the next 6 months as a positive to save some money, loose some weight and work on my mental health (I am just about to start CBT after accepting help for anxiety and low self esteem.) The self esteem issue has caused pretty bad low moods and has made my sex life none existent.

Would really appreciate somewhere to chat, I dont really have anyone to talk to!
