@Crossfitgirl unfortunately they'll never realise how much goes into this... because they're men. Be kind to yourself lovely x

sunshine1987 · 28/08/2018 21:22

@Crossfitgirl I think it's more gutting to put yourself out there too to get knocked back. It hurts. Be kind to yourself, it's all so consuming for us that it's so shit when you gear up all month and it doesn't happen x

Crossfitgirl · 28/08/2018 21:16

Thank you @sunshine1987 maybe tomorrow will be better. Today has been awful as our mortgage fell through, and we've been battling with solicitors and estate agents all day. it was all fine in the end but it has been a stressful day.
But we went for a run together and he seemed in a good mood after so after a shower I thought... hey you.
But yeah I guess it's still pressure. I'll try talk in the morning. I won't see him all night tomorrow!

@delilah7 thank you. I'll make sure when AF comes smack bang on our holiday, I'll let him know he could have avoided it had he just had sex with his wife that can ovulation day!!

They just don't have a clue. If only he could see this group and how much of our souls we put into this!

@Crossfitgirl sorry lovely that doesn't sound much fun at all... my DH hasn't got much of a sex drive either so it's difficult when the time is right to baby dance!

Delilah7 · 28/08/2018 21:10

@Crossfitgirl I'm so sorry you've gone through that today. It makes you feel like why even tell them when you are yet you should as it's their journey too?! If I'm honest I don't anymore. It's easier. He knows when I'm doing it it's for a reason so 😂😂 as I'm not always up for it when he is too. I'd be upset too. And I don't think you're overreacting. It's an emotional mental rollercoaster for us ladies and the men don't get it. Sending you lots of love darling keep that head held high. When he wants it next turn him down... sometimes they need a taste of their own medicine!! Xxx

sunshine1987 · 28/08/2018 21:07

@Crossfitgirl so sorry love. I've been there and it sucks, I just had to keep reminding myself that for me it's all I focus on all month but for them it's just not on their radar as much. Maybe tomorrow when you've both had some time to think you could have a conversation about it and work out how he's feeling too. Maybe it's just a bit too much pressure on him? Men in my experience aren't very good at communication and instead just get moody/defensive and then shut down x

Crossfitgirl · 28/08/2018 21:06

@delilah7 I just feel like we were on the same page and all of a sudden, he makes out like its just me that wants a baby, he doesnt expect me to give him sex on tap so how is this any different just cos hes not in the mood. Hes completely missed the point, and it makes me feel awful. Im out this month already- I don't even need the tww to tell me that.
I'm probably overreacting but I just don't want to be left like this every month. Just in the hands of when he's in the mood or not - I've definitely had to "try" to get myself in the mood - i mean bloody hell I'm rarely in the mood and most of the time it takes me a while but I can easily be made in the mood- why can't he try a little the same for me - especially when I've literally told him a couple days before it's my fertile week!

I even told him I ovulated today and this is our only chance now til next month. It's pointless cos it ain't gonna happen now anyway. I'm too upset .

Fucking men. Bloody ttc.

They don't realise we've been mentally ttc far longer than they have!

Feel like what's the bloody point in all these tests and temps and shit. Feel like chucking them all in the bloody bin!!

@Crossfitgirl I'm so sorry Hun. Men can be complete arseholes when it comes to stuff we want. He knew how important this time in the cycle was so that must make you question things. Does with my OH too. We understand they're stressed but they don't always seem to get it or what we are bothered about. It's so sad to hear how upset you are. Don't go to bed upset or mad it's a horrible way to sleep ( or not sleep in my case ) ! We are here for you and go through the same struggles Hun. It's heartbreaking when they don't want to do it when we know it's most fertile. :( xxx

Crossfitgirl · 28/08/2018 20:45

I haven't had time to catch up but just need a vent 😥
DH was too tired last night to DTD, I got my positive OPK yesterday so thought oh well, I'll ovulate today so just DTD today instead.
Tried this evening and he just said straight out no, he wasn't in the mood.
I have cried all evening since.
I was so happy when he said we could try this month, but it feels like since I told him this week was a good week, we DTD on Sunday then he's just said no since!

I know we won't be able to tomorrow, so that's it for this month. 1 lot of sex 3 days before ovulation.

I told him what had upset me and he seemed to just brush it off saying well I'm stressed and not in the mood, I don't want to do it if I'm not in the mood... I don't want it to feel like a chore.

Well then why did you agree to try? If we only ever had sex when we were in the mood, it'd be back to a handful of times a month!

He's just been a complete and utter arsehole about it now too.

I'm so upset.

@BabySquid hi darling welcome back ❤️

BabySquid · 28/08/2018 19:56

Hey thanks for adding me, didn't even realise you had! (I'm useless!!)
I'm 29, married last year, TTC month 4, possible MC last month but I didn't actually test, just a very strange clot to go with a stranger AF! Currently 1dpo!! Very excited for this month, feeling very good and positive🤞🏻
(Just about to read the rest of the thread so sorry if I've missed anything from the weekend!) love and baby dust to all xx

Delilah7 · 28/08/2018 19:34

@Patapouf thanks Hun! Get cracking ;) xx

purplestar9 · 28/08/2018 19:05

Welcome back @ValidUser 😊

How are we all? I'm feeling good today except I've got back ache! AF is due today but no sign as of yet so I'm hoping that's a good sign along with the CM I've had the last couple of days. And my temp hasn't dropped either.
I'm off work this week with DH so we have painted our bedroom today and cleaned the house! Exciting times haha! And even better, bake off starts tonight!! 🍰🥧

Patapouf · 28/08/2018 19:03

I hope you can get to the bottom of what’s going on soon delilah it must be a nightmare to not know what your body is doing.

Welcome back valid and commiserations. SMEP seems fairly low demand in terms of the number of times to BD in one cycle but I have felt a bit stressed out by the pressure and was more than a little bit upset when we couldn’t do it on one of the days we ‘had’ to. I hope you fare better, it will be more fun than a syringe at any rate.

starkid I think the hormone that OPKS detect is stronger later in the day, I check when I get home at 5ish and tend to have a reliable result.

This is today’s OPK, it’s a stronger line than yesterday so I guess I’m going to Ov tomorrow which will be CD15 of a 27-28 day Cycle. AF is due on the 11th so I’m going to have to try really hard not to test 4days before then Grin

TTC first baby... mega thread!
Delilah7 · 28/08/2018 17:22

@ValidUser i wish I had your stamina girl. We missed ya! X

BambiOnIce80 · 28/08/2018 17:17

@ValidUser, welcome back 👋 I hope you don't put your back out with all the SMEPing 🍀😉

ValidUser · 28/08/2018 16:39

Hello everyone! Been less present lately (probably because the tww is over!) but still reading with interest.

Doing SMEP this month, so the sperming begins on Saturday!

Delilah7 · 28/08/2018 15:29

@starkid wwww thank you 😘

starkid · 28/08/2018 15:24

@sunshine1987 that's genius, I'm going to have to come up with something like that!

@Louegg Oh that'll be useful, could at least use those in morning then the cheapies when I get home and at the weekend.

@delilah7 Hi, thank you :) I've been thinking about you xx

Delilah7 · 28/08/2018 15:14

@cupcakesandglitter I don't Hun unfortunately xxx

@starkid welcome back hunny xx

sunshine1987 · 28/08/2018 15:10

@starkid I have a little pencil case (😂) at work that I have the pot and OPK's in that I keep in my drawer. Then I pretend I'm going to a meeting and take my pencil case and notepad with me and sit in the loo with my test lol. Else I just take the pencil case, put it back in my drawer and check the test in my drawer 10 minutes later 🤷🏻‍♀️

Lougg · 28/08/2018 15:10

@starkid I work from home most of the time so no advice about pee containers (our bathroom is littered with them 🙈) but you don't need to wait 10 minutes. Result normally comes through in a few minutes.

I actually prefer the clear blue ovulation tests though as you can use FMU so you wouldn't need to worry about doing it at work

sunshine1987 · 28/08/2018 15:08

@purplestar9 fingers crossed for you! x

cupcakesandglitter · 28/08/2018 15:07

@CookieWaffle I'm hoping that if I track them all properly then the next TWW I'll know which symptoms are normal for me :)

@Delilah7 you can check the graph on flo! Do you temp? X

starkid · 28/08/2018 15:06

Hi everyone! Hope all doing OK.
Still officially waiting until Sept/Oct to TTC, but have started not preventing it this month. Am on CD14. Been taking OPKs all bank holiday weekend twice a day as haven't got a clue when I ovulate still and want to be tracking it for when it all gets serious. Just got a basal thermometer in the post too to start using, see if that sheds any light at all.

But just wondering how you all go about doing OPKs during work hours. Do you sneak off to the loo with a container to pee in hidden up your sleeve?! Don't know how to do it subtly, also with leaving the stick somewhere for 10 mins! Blush Grin
