Rivera implantation? I've never had this personally. Do you usually start AF suddenly or with spotting?

Fingers crossed it's the start of some good news. It's so hard (for me anyway) to tell after mc.

Rivera1985 · 17/11/2018 14:44

So just an update.. yesterday had some bright pink blood only when I used the bathroom. Have not bled since but still have on and off cramps.
AF due the 20th. Could this just be her messing with me lol

Thank you so much for the support. I think I'll go to EPU on Monday and get bloods done as offered.

I'm trying to tell myself the lack of progression is down to using a 25miu/ml after a 6miu FRER and expecting a darker line on the less sensitive test.

I guess I'm struggling as I don't really 'feel' pregnant. Previously my breasts have been massively tender and that's not the case now. I feel a bit tired and (sorry) gassy/constipated, but I think that might be me reducing my caffeine intake.

hopefulforarainbow I have one digi left. I might use it on Monday to contin my fear of getting a negative hpt in EPU and looking a bit mad. I'll try not to expect or hope for progression.

CurlyTwirlyTwos you're right of course. I know objectively that my hcg could be sky-high and the pregnancy could still fail, and that stressing about lines won't change a thing. You're right about hydration too, I have been pushing myself to drink water much more in the last week.

Miami81 thanks for sharing your struggle with the 3+. You're right I need bloods, I was resisting this but I think this was because I assumed I'd have lost the pregnancy by now.

Have a great Saturday ladies. I'm going to have a pregnancy test free weekend Smile

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 17/11/2018 09:12

Ahh - thanks @Miami81!

Can you send the link? I hate this first trimester (even after 2 positive scans) it would read - I’m only 1/2 way through it at 8 weeks 😩!

I’m so worried that things will change.

Totally not TTCing anymore either.....(and keep butting in on the thread, despite me saying goodbye 😂)!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 17/11/2018 08:26

Thanks @Miami81. I have ventured over already though was a bit nervous to do so. It still doesn't feel real!

Miami81 · 17/11/2018 07:59

Good advice @CurlyTwirlyTwos.
Lines on tests are very much reliant on time of day, quality of test and consistency of dilution of urine. So not scientific. If they were the doctors wouldn't bother with hcg blood tests.
Anyway just popped on to say that in this pregnancy I had blood tests with really good hcg numbers at 5+2 and 5+4 (or something like that) which were well above the threshold where I should have had a 3+ on the digi. But I didn't, I never got the 3+ and I am now 23+1.
@SerenaOverjoyed can you persuade your gp to do blood hcg over two days for you? I honestly found it so much more helpful. It can feel like such a long time to get to the first scan.
@CurlyTwirlyTwos and @Hopefulforourrainbow there are a good few people in first trimester on the pregnancy after loss thread, you will be in good company whenever you decide to come over.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 17/11/2018 07:41

That's much better advice @CurlyTwirlyTwos. Ignore mine! This is the only pregnancy I have been obsessed with line progression. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 17/11/2018 07:19

In the kindest possible way, I’m going to tell you to step away from the tests. In my experience they mean nothing! Like you I’ve had 4 mc in a row.

I can only give you my own experiences. I was still getting positives A MONTH after medical management for missed miscarriage, they were still fairly strong after 2 weeks.

The CB didgital went up perfectly from 1-2, 2-3, 3+, then I only found out at early 8 week scan that I had t progressed past 6 weeks.

Faint lines can be dependent on ANYTHING and WILL be different depending which time of day you are testing or how much liquid you have had, even if testing fmu.

The ONLY way to really know what is going on is to go for a scan as soon as you can. Please step away from the tests, they stress you out and don’t give you proper information. They only confirm hcg in your system.

Under ‘normal’ circinstances that’s fine, but for us that suffer rmc - it really doesn’t confirm that anything concreate will develop.

This preg I only tested once on a boots cheap one at 5 weeks, and called EPAU. It’s a stresssful, and horrid time. I know. But after doing what you currently are, I finally realised that agonising over lines is a waste of time!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 16/11/2018 08:55

Different tests have different lines. I'd try another digital in a couple of days. I was a bit obsessed with line progression and kept doing digitals til I got 3+ too. Try not to worry. Sending lots of love xx

SerenaOverjoyed · 16/11/2018 08:25

I'm having a bit of a line progression freak out this morning. On Monday I tested with a FRER and a cb digital. I had a good line on the FRER. This morning I tested with a superdrug test (25 sensitivity), and while the line is definitely there it's not as bold as I was expecting 4 days after a positive test. I've convinced myself that this is failed pregnancy #5.

I wish I hadn't taken that test. If I can beat today this would have been the furthest along I've been. Sad

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 16/11/2018 08:12

Are you going to join it @hopefulforarainbow? I feel I have to hunker down until I get that 12 week scan (or 20, or 36)!

I feel very nervous and anxious sometimes, and absolutely/confident fine at other times.

It’s like everything is out of my hands again, all I can do is take prenatal vitamin tablets and my body do it’s thing (and pray it does)!

It’s a seesaw of emotions!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 15/11/2018 19:50

There's another thread called fresh start for pregnancy after loss @CurlyTwirlyTwos. A lot of the ladies from here are on it

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 15/11/2018 19:23

Definitely do exercise if you are up for it @SerenaOverjoyed - it’s the only ‘me time’ I have! It’s better to be yourself as much as possible, not exercising will make you feel bleugh (if that’s what you are used to). It honestly doesn’t affect pregnancy - keep it low impact like swimming or Zumba which is what I’m doing atm (which I drag myself to - mainly because I’m knackered).

As for sex - DEFINITELY too tired for that, ha ha ha! We’ve only done it a couple of times since bfp. I’m starting to miss it though.

I’ve only bled once after sex during early preg which led to mc - but I honestly think it was going to happen anyway. I think its best to try and be as ‘normal’ as you can.

My own coping mechanism each time I pregnant was to ‘pretend’ everything is normal - then read this thread for support.

As for me, I’ve arranged my booking appointment today (it’s not for another two weeks) and they’ve also organised my 12 week scan in a months time. I might buckle and get a scan before hand but I’ll try not to. I’m pretty sure this will be my last pregnancy, so I’m going to try and enjoy it - especially after the process of getting here.

I really hope this is the one - it’s the furthest I’ve been since DD over 4 years ago!

It does seems appropriate to sign off the thread for a while, but I’ll keep lurk in the background for a bit and chip in if there’s anything I can offer to help!

(I’m sure you won’t miss my essays - I always write so much)!

Rivera1985 · 15/11/2018 18:52

@ SerenaOverjoyed thank you. I'm trying to stay positive for this month.

@ Hopefulforourrainbow congrats!!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 15/11/2018 18:34

We haven't had sex since bfp. I'm still not keen on the idea to be honest. Will wait til after 12 weeks I think. I'm terrified of bleeding!

SerenaOverjoyed · 15/11/2018 18:30

hopefulforarainbow Amazing news!Flowers

CurlyTwirlyTwos what a pleasant suprise for you. It must be funny to think the problem has been having a womb that works a bit too well!

Riveria1985 I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to lose your little one at 16wks. Fingers crossed your symptoms turn into some lovely news for you

So my EPU do reassurance scans from 5wks 6d but only if you walk-in. They suggested because of my 'history' (hideous phrase!) I come in for bloods to check hcg levels, but I feel a bit reluctant to take 2 or 3 mornings off work for the sake of discretion. Maybe I'm being a bit short sighted?

If I'm still pregnant on Monday I'll start campaigning for the antenatal clinic to give me an early scan. Pushing services doesn't come naturally to me but I must try!

Can I ask what your views are on sex and exercise? I think a bit of gym time would clear my head but I don't want to risk it. I also feel very cagey about sex, bit it's possible I'm not so rational on this one. So far poor dh has quietly accepted his temporary celibacyHmm

norbert23 · 15/11/2018 18:16

@Hopefulforourrainbow that's brilliant news, so exciting! X

Lauraliverpool · 15/11/2018 17:36

@Hopeful wonderful news!! 😘

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 15/11/2018 16:36

Ahhhhh ..... @hopefulforarainbow! I’m so so pleased!!!!! I kept glancing at the clock all morning! It’s so nerve wrecking isn’t it? Even for others in the same position!

So happy for you, congratulations! Wow! 10 weeks!!

Laney79 · 15/11/2018 15:43

Fantastic @Hopefulforourrainbow so pleased! Xxx

Hopefulforourrainbow · 15/11/2018 14:43

Must have posted at same time @CurlyTwirlyTwos. Good news for us too!

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 15/11/2018 14:39

Any news @hopefulforarainbow?

I’ve been thinking of you, post when you are ready xxx

Rivera1985 · 15/11/2018 14:24

@Hopefulforourrainbow thank you!
I havent been to a fertility clinic in a few years. In a way I felt that if and when the times right, it'll happen. I was originally told by 2 fertility doctors that I'm not able to conceive so when I got pregnant last year I was shocked and surprised. Unfortunately I had the MC and that took an emotional toll on me but have since been trying.
I had surgery for my endometriosis about 5 years.
I know the doctor said it does come back. I don't think I'm pregnant but I've had a few symptoms. Though it could just be AF.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 15/11/2018 14:17

Good news for us too! Very wriggly baby in there measuring at exactly 10 weeks! I still can't believe it xx
