Hi everyone well I have been off here for a while - was trying to de stress about while situation but now can I ask for advice as really confused! My second postpartum period was due 17 September and this day I started spotting ( had a +hpt but string negatives after so presume I was 1% chance of false positive!) anyway spotting continued not enough for a pad except for an hour one day until cd 14 2 October which then became heavier started having clots etc but was light still some in bowl when wee , so I thought as fed up of bleeding would take soy ISO for 4 days so did after I was heavier , bleeding stopped 8 October. I don't know when to say cycle day started was it from spotting it when I was heavier? Also I am now if you count heavier bleed as cd 1 cd 15 I am so hungry all the time feel sick and certain smells make me feel more sick! I am really confused and don't know when af will be expected! Please does anyone have advice ? Sorry to ask and hope makes some sense! Xx

Hope we are all having a bit too grotty Monday... in the one week wait x

Orchid222 · 06/10/2018 21:19

Ok ladies, I've created a new thread. We still have some space left on this one (I think another 69 messages/2 more pages) so we can finish it up and move to the new one afterwards, I just wanted to make sure I post the link before we run out of space here. The link is: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3386745-Over-40-ttc-Autumn-baby-dust-for-me?watched=1. I'll do my best to post it again when we're on p. 40 and closer to the end of this thread.

Orchid222 · 06/10/2018 14:58

@Critter - it all sounds really promising! Still keeping everything crossed for you.
@Jenbot78 - I also don’t use any cycle tracking devices, but my cycle is very regular and I get ovulation pains. I am using clear blue ovulation tests now though, just to make sure.
@Littlemimosa - My acupuncturist said alcholol should be reduced, but conception rates are higher among those who drink something compared to those who drink nothing. I am still having the occasional glass. xxx

Cleozeta · 06/10/2018 09:40

Jenbot I have an ava bracelet. It is useful for knowing your fertile period and checking temps to confirm ovulation without the faff of actually temping.plus the daily data for those who love to obsess is great. It's expensive though. But faff free, so in my opinion - worth it!

CritterTamer · 06/10/2018 07:40

@Littlemimosa - yep if there are any ‘spare’ embryos of good enough quality the cost of freezing them for one year is included in the cycle fee. After a year you get charged annually to keep them frozen.

Meant to mention that we also had the endo scratch done this time as I’m sure I have a problem with implantation. Given the fertilisation rates we have had both cycles it’s the only explanation really for the fact that I never even achieve CPs, despite often getting strong impantation pains.

@Jenbot78 I’ve never tried any of those devices, manly because I find the Clearblue ovulation test kits work really well for me 😊

Jenbot78 · 05/10/2018 21:30

Critter brilliant news on eggs. Last cycle we got 6 eggs and 3 made it to day 5. One was our daughter, one was a cp and waiting till early next year for other one (thyroid I issues to sort out) In the meantime TTC naturally. Am going to do some of what you did over the next few months! Forgot about raspberry leaf tea, will start that up again. So ladies, quick question: I keep getting an advert for Ovusense flashing up on FB (clearly they can see my obsessive googling about TTC 🤣. So, are these devices (Ovusense, Ava bracelet) any different really from taking ovulation tests and watching body signs etc?

Cleozeta · 05/10/2018 21:15

Weirdly I found my alcohol tolerance vanished after my mc. Strange.

Cleozeta · 05/10/2018 21:14

I don't drink anywhere near as much as I used to. I find my hangovers are so bad these days after just sniffing wine that it puts me off. But I do still have a few in social situations. And I do love a drink.

Floofsquidge · 05/10/2018 21:05

I'm still lurking here @littlemimosa! I pretty much stopped drinking after chemical pregnancy month before current BFP other than the odd Friday / weekend drink so probably about the same as you're doing now. I have now gone right off wine (hormones probably), so don't miss it and I normally absolutely love a glass of something red and full bodied.

littlemimosa · 05/10/2018 20:48

Critter great news on the eggies! Presume you'll freeze some if there are more than 2 on day 5. Is that part of the 'package' or do you pay extra for the freezing if so? You have made some fantastic changes too, well done, very impressed.

Out of interest how much alcohol does everyone drink? I drink very little, average 2-3 units a week, some weeks none even, but i just love me a glass of something red and expensive, yum:-)
And what about the ladies with bfps (if you're reading!)......

CritterTamer · 05/10/2018 18:13

I just hate the taste of it - all alcohol tastes like listerine to me 😁

Chatbash72 · 05/10/2018 17:57

@CritterTamer I haven't touched a drop since January ( well maybe a couple ) but that's it... not that fussed about missing it

Cleozeta · 05/10/2018 17:35

Wow good work critter!! Afraid I cannot say the same.....

CritterTamer · 05/10/2018 17:27

@Cleozeta I haven’t drunk alcohol since I was 21 😁

Cleozeta · 05/10/2018 16:33

Wow thats a lot of changes critter, sounds like its done the job though! Did you completely cut out alcohol?

CritterTamer · 05/10/2018 15:41

@Cleozeta - yes to be honest I’ve made a lot of changes in the past 3 months and I’m sure many things have contributed:
Acupuncture
Daily fertility yoga
Meditation
Lots of exercise
Lost 3 stone since May
Maca powder
Spirulina and increased protein intake
Raspberry leaf tea
Vitamin D spray
Changed protocol this cycle to include a month on testosteone gel and a different mix of stim meds this time
Changed job and went part time to reduce my ridiculous stress levels

Chatbash72 · 05/10/2018 15:00

Fab news @CritterTamer 🤞🤞

Cleozeta · 05/10/2018 14:15

That sounds amazing critter! Do you think anything you did led to the better outcome this time? Fingers crossed it's successful!!

I actually enjoy by herbs. Weird I know. Looking forward to getting bald & spotty with a bit of dhea now. The things we do...

CritterTamer · 05/10/2018 13:51

I had 2 transferred last time. I know what you mean - haven’t tried TCM herbs but have been choking down maca and spirulina powder hoping it’s worth the suffering!

Orchid222 · 05/10/2018 13:45

Did you have 1 or 2 transferred last time? I'm 13dpo, waiting for AF and will be booking ivf for next cycle early next week, hoping the awfully expensive and disgusting herbs are going to improve my egg quality before that...

OP posts:
CritterTamer · 05/10/2018 13:21

@Orchid222 yes I hope so - last time we had 6 and 4 made it to day 5, although 2 weren’t good quality. I’m just hoping that everything else has improved so much this time that maybe the quality will have improved too 🤞
