Anyone ttc at 37?

Anyone on here ttc for the first time in their late 30s? Or has anyone reading this conceived at 37? How long did it take you?
Cycle #1 just finished with an early AF and I'm more disappointed than I thought I would be (Googling statistics about declining egg quality has me panicking). DH is 32... I'm starting to wish we had started trying before we got married! Any advice welcome so I don't lose my mind! Confused

@Pickingflowers sorry to read about your first pregnancy lost! And now, congratulations for the little one! Halo
The waiting is indeed difficult... I'm trying to be more relaxed about it, but can't help to think about it constantly.
Thanks for the advice! I hope I'll have my BFP soon! Smile

Pickingflowers · 11/12/2019 22:21

@Morgane777
I got pregnant cycle 2 but sadly lost that pregnancy early at 5 weeks 2 days. It then took us 6 more cycles to get a second positive and that pregnancy worked out and I have my little girl. We really tried though each month, opks and dtd at least every three days the whole cycle. I found the waiting each month so hard, especially after the mc and got really stressed. But tried to keep positive and eat healthily etc.
We found conceive plus lube a really nice one and felt like it was working with us, if that makes sense? I really hope you get your bfp soon. Smile

Good luck @universal83 I was so obsessed with the statistics of being over 35 but I shouldn't have been. The one thing the doctors tell you to do is not wait too long and get started ttc and you're already doing that.

Hello all!
I'm 38 and TTC for my first baby! I'm on cycle #4 of trying.
I've never been pregnant!
It's wonderful to read good stories about this! Keeping my hopes up!
@Pickingflowers how long did it take to get pregnant? Smile
I thank you @Pickingflowers for coming back to the thread with a conclusion... most of the time I read the whole story and never know what happened next! Confused

universal83 · 11/12/2019 19:11

Thank you for this I am ttc next year and will be 37

pickingflowers · 11/12/2019 10:53

Hello everyone who helped me on this thread. I just thought I'd update... I have a 7 week baby girl snoozing on my chest right now and am so happy.
I wanted to send an update in case anyone else is worrying about ttc later in to their 30s and sometimes it's nice to see a happy conclusion to these threads. Smile

Thank you. Was sorry to hear your story as well. My friend said to me that as soon as you get pregnant you become a parent and so the loss is very hard no matter the time at which it happened. Loads of people said but at least you know you can get pregnant but the reality is you wanted to the baby you lost. If you gives you some hope it took me another four months to conceive again. Still early days so not getting my hopes up! Happy to share thoughts on the process!x

perfectpanda · 07/09/2018 20:08

Sorry about your mc. My story is mixed. Ive been pregnant 6 times since i was 35. Unfortunately I have had a few miscarriagws but also have gone on to have 3 lovely babies. And dc3 was born just befire my 45th birrhday!

ShowgirlnamedLola · 07/09/2018 19:57

So sorry to hear about the miscarriage. I know saying 'it's good that you can get pregnant though' is cited as one of the things NOT to say to women... but for me, it absolutely was something I could take heart from too. It's absolutely true that some people cannot get pregnant at all - and you now know that you can which is a huge positive. I'm keeping everything crossed for you and hope you feel able to keep us updated x

So sorry to hear @pickingflowers. And @Eleosto, exactly the same here, MC in April. Here’s our 35+ TTC thread if you want to join www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3341281-35-TTC-1-Thread-3

@Pickingflowers So sorry for your loss. It's so hard and gut wrenching. I am 36 and also had an early loss in February this year, however conceived again two cycles later and now I'm expecting a little boy in December so don't give up hope x

Eleosto · 07/09/2018 11:53

New to this thread but have been lurking for a while. Just wanted to join in as I am 36 and also had a miscarriage in April. I don’t think anyone really understands the stress of all this unless they are in the situation!

Pickingflowers · 07/09/2018 10:17

Oh thank you so much @LaurenSteph hearing positive stories about next pregnancies going well does help so much.

I will keep you posted, hopefully have some positive news in the future xxx

Hello, so sorry to hear that you miscarried, but if you can, do try to take comfort from the fact that it's obviously all 'working'. I know three people that have had miscarriages in the past year. Two are pregnant again (and going well), third not ready to try again yet.

Keep us posted!

Take care
Stephanie

Pickingflowers · 06/09/2018 20:31

Thank you @brokenharbour sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I'm so glad to hear you were able to get pregnant so quickly afterwards x
I'm feeling quite raw still (we only lost the baby a few days ago) and today my BIL announced their pregnancy on the family WhatsApp group. I'm so happy for them but sad for us. There are two family weddings coming up the next two weekends and we would both have been pregnant.

It took me nearly two years at 33/34 but got pregnant the first month we were trying at 37 (ended in m/c) and got pregnant again three months later. So positive from here!

Pickingflowers · 06/09/2018 19:26

Hello everyone who helped me in this thread.
A quick update is that I got a BFP second month of trying, but sadly I miscarried early at 5.2 weeks.
Taking heart from the fact we could get pregnant and getting ready to try again xx

I got pregnant 1mth before I turned 39 after 4/5mths of trying. My gorgeous squishy 8mth old is currently cuddled up fast asleep next to me.
Hoping to try for a sibling for him at the end of the year - we’ll be 40 and 42.

Funkyemzie · 30/07/2018 19:30

I'm 37, just got my BFP on Saturday. I do already have a daughter but not consented about the 10 year age gap as she has asked Santa for a brother or sister every year!

I had MC in March, skipped April and so properly trying for 2 cycles. Good luck lovely! X

Pickingflowers · 30/07/2018 18:58

Thank you so much for these stories everyone and for your good lucks. @Melamine fingers crossed for you this month, will have a look on page 2 for the 35+ thread. Feel like I might be able to relax a bit for the second try this cycle Smile

Since* starting trying again that should say!

Melamine · 30/07/2018 18:24

I’m 37 & trying for first! Unfortunately my first pregnancy resulted in MMC at 11 weeks in April but it didn’t take too much effort to actually get pregnant, in fact the first month we actually put proper effort in. I’m in my second two week wait until starting trying again, left it 2 cycles to heal and no joy last month but fingers crossed (for you & me)! I think the 35+ thread will prob be on page 2 as not super active but we’re a friendly bunch!

Kintan · 30/07/2018 15:33

It took me 3 months aged 38. Good luck! :)
