Too early for a September bus?

I've (intentionally) missed out on an August BFP due to planned holidays but I'm crossing my fingers for a 7th September BFP/AF! Not sure if there's a September thread already?

Age: 27
TTC: No. 1
Cycle: 1

Getting my coil taken out this coming weekend and really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones whose cycle goes straight back to normal! I haven't had a period for years but have been tracking my bbt for the past month.

Hi ladies! I'm 23, TTC #1, cycle 1!

Hey @NoseringGirl ! I've given up tracking completely, I don't have the routine to be able to, so we're just doing it whenever we can Grin

Smileyface32 · 14/08/2018 13:06

I’ve just read the instructions for the opk strips and it says to allow the urine to reach room temp (20 mins) I haven’t been doing this! I’m such a plonker for not reading it.

Does anyone use the clear blue ovulation kit? Trying to decide which is best to use

Hofty · 14/08/2018 13:03

Hi everyone! I’m hopping on, hope that’s ok.

Age 22
TTC#1
Cycle 2 (or maybe 1, it’s my first ‘proper’ period off the pill, excluding spotting immediately after)
CD2
BFP/AF due 18th of September.

I’m getting married on the 14th, so it would be lovely.

Good luck everyone!

mostimproved · 14/08/2018 11:18

@Newbie21 enjoy!
@GreatestShowWoman I think there are people out there who don't track but they aren't as likely to go on a forum and talk about TTC as they don't need advice on all the tracking methods etc. For me personally, I enjoyed learning about how conception works and what I could do to maximise chances, and I love tracking any data I can get my hands on so it just suits my personality type I guess!

NoseringGirl · 14/08/2018 11:04

@GreatestShowWoman I have PCOS and used to have really irregular cycles so even when I'm not TTC I track everything because I find it stressful not knowing what my body is doing. I think there are people who don't track. There used to be threads on here (might still be?) called 'just shagging' full of people who didn't track!

Newbie21 · 14/08/2018 08:59

@mostimproved thanks! DH will be happy Smile

Newbie21 · 14/08/2018 08:58

@GreatestShowWoman I actually wonder whether that is the best way to be. I got pregnant with my DS by just dtd pretty regularly and having no idea about cycle etc and it happened straight away. Same with #2 but sadly had a mmc when 11 weeks. Since then we've tried for a few months and no luck so I decided to work out what my body does a bit more but maybe the stress of it all is counterintuitive. Will try the calculated way this month and if no luck I'll scrap the opks for a while again.

mostimproved · 14/08/2018 08:55

@Newbie21 yes you start on CD8 no matter what OPK/CB monitor result you are getting, as sperm can hang around for a few days so it ensures if you ovulate early that month you won't miss it.

GreatestShowWoman · 14/08/2018 08:53

It is really interestong to see how straight couples approach this. I presumed you’d all have months of just not really timing it and seeing if it happened before testing etc.

Newbie21 · 14/08/2018 08:52

Hi ladies, so I'm on cd 7. I started testing with CB advanced this morning because my last cycle was only 18 days long when it is usually 27-29. I got the empty circle. I'm considering SMEP this month. Can I just check - even if I am reading low fertility (empty circle) do you still dtd every other day from cd 8?

Smileyface32 · 14/08/2018 08:32

I’m ready to hop on!

Age 32
Ttc #1
Cycle 2
AF due 1st September

This month we’re trying SMEP, temping and trying to get my head around OPK’s. I also had accupuncture the other day pre-ovulation. Good luck to everyone on the september bus!

ImpatientMammy · 14/08/2018 06:40

It's just the the one with the smiley faces but it's good @Chanel05 I hope you get a more standard cycle this month x

Dinosauraddict · 14/08/2018 05:36

Hi All, can I hop on please?

Age: 27
TTC: #1
Cycle: 4

mrss2018 · 13/08/2018 20:59

Ohh how exciting! Fingers crossed you'll have to let me know how you get on!! X

Chanel05 · 13/08/2018 20:41

@mrss2018 started yesterday (cd8). Hope it works!

mrss2018 · 13/08/2018 20:28

@Chanel05
No not yet- CD2 at the mo.. have you??

Chanel05 · 13/08/2018 20:03

@mrss2018 we’re trying SMEP too. Have you started yet?

@ImpatientMammy glad you hear that you’re feeling better. Sometimes it’s easier to vent on here I think, and writing gives some kind of release from the journey of ttc. Hopefully you’ll get your bfp this month. Are you using the clear blue advanced? I’m only on CD9. My app has me down to ovulate Sunday but not sure really. I didn’t ovulate till cd24 last month. Hoping it’s not quite that late this time!

ImpatientMammy · 13/08/2018 19:24

@PeanutButterJellyTime2 I'd definitely take a test of I'd end up one day late for af brimming with excitement and choosing names to pertentaily be slapped in the face with CD1 but that's a personal preference.
@Chanel05 I feel better today thank you so much for asking I ovulate on about the 19th and my other half will be home Wednesday. Clearblue have been confirming I'm not fertile yet too which is a weight off. Where abouts are you in your cycle?
Sorry to see a few of you coming over from the August bus. May is a much better birthday anyway girls ☺️ x

EverythingNow · 13/08/2018 18:17

@malichick, a lovely on the August bus suggested DHA, COQ10 and folic acid.

I already have folic acid and I was taking ubiquinol but have run out. Not heard of DHA before, but I'll do some more googling before I take.

This was the link, I'm a bit sceptical of celeb endorsement and to be fair she is 8 years younger than me. So while its worth ago, I have no idea if it will be successful.

I'm also going to do SMEP, stick my legs in the air as long possible after sex.

mostimproved · 13/08/2018 18:17

@mrss2018 thank you, I'm sorry for your loss as well and hope SMEP works for you! It's definitely worth a try.

mrss2018 · 13/08/2018 17:45

@mostimproved
Sorry for your loss...af arrived yesterday 6 weeks after a mmc at 10 weeks

We're going to give SMEP a go this month! Heard lots of great things about it! Let's hope it works for us!!
X

mostimproved · 13/08/2018 17:14

Hi all, may I join you?

Age: 27
TTC #2
Started ttc in May, got my BFP in June after following SMEP (it works Grin) but had a missed miscarriage, and am now waiting for a negative pregnancy test before starting to TTC again. So I guess this is cycle 1, although not a proper 'cycle' as it didn't begin with a period.

Obviously I'm not thrilled to be here but am desperate to get pregnant again, and part of me is excited to start obsessing over OPKs and charts again - sad or what?!

piglet81 · 13/08/2018 16:53

Jumping on the September bus as AF arrived today. TTC no. 2. Next AF/test date around 10 September.

piglet81 · 13/08/2018 16:51

SMEP is the Sperm Meets Egg Plan - basically you dtd every other day until you get a positive opk, then three days in a row, then skip a day and one more go 😄 Have had good intentions of doing this but we've not managed so far!

GreatestShowWoman · 13/08/2018 16:40

What’s SMEP?
