Too early for a September bus?

I've (intentionally) missed out on an August BFP due to planned holidays but I'm crossing my fingers for a 7th September BFP/AF! Not sure if there's a September thread already?

Age: 27
TTC: No. 1
Cycle: 1

Getting my coil taken out this coming weekend and really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones whose cycle goes straight back to normal! I haven't had a period for years but have been tracking my bbt for the past month.

Also wanted to add that I've not gone any ovulation sticks in stock this time round ... last time I recall finding them a bit confusing and kept forgetting to do it at the right time of day. Just going off cycle day and cm .... are others peeing on ov sticks?

CornishFairing · 17/08/2018 16:32

Hello all,

Hopping back on just in time ! I had to hop off the bus for a couple of weeks as my dd has had a terrible cold / ear infection / sleep regression combo and literally nothing has been getting done.... no sleeping, cleaning and certainly no ttc!!

Until last night , dtd on day 16 of 31 day cycle. Hope not too late ... cm very egg whitey yesterday and loads of it (tmi sorry!).

Can't decide whether to come on to DH again tonight or save it till tomorrow !

Catching up with all the updates - mooncup thing is fascinating. Does that really help! I've also seen the word "syringes" but haven't managed to find the post containing the context yet.

Good luck everyone !!

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 15:22

I used my mooncup this time as needed to put it in with my daughter around So syringe wasn’t the easiest I then still did the lie down bum up.

cupcakesandglitter · 17/08/2018 14:27

@ImpatientMammy @Moo8879 ooh Thankyou!! I must say, it sounds super clever - I DETEST the leak after 🙄 sorry tmi but I can't stand it 😂😂 xx

Moo8879 · 17/08/2018 14:16

Soft cup are used to 'hold it all up there' so to speak to 🙈 we used them for the first time last month but no sucess, however they were a really good method and means there's no legs up for ages you can just carry on with your day.
I think the opks vary from person to person, some get there peak around midday but some might get them in the evening. I never get a peak on clear blue with first morning urine so always test again around 12 after i get the first flashy day as other wise I am likely to miss it

KinCat · 17/08/2018 14:10

@kmcneil91 after saying that about using opks between 10am and 6pm I just tried one now (9pm here) and got a positive so not sure the timing is that important!

ImpatientMammy · 17/08/2018 13:57

@cupcakesandglitter I think it's the cups people use during their menstrual cycle but I've heard some people use them after sex to keep the sperm where it should be. X

cupcakesandglitter · 17/08/2018 13:07

Hi @Moo8879 sorry I have zero idea what a soft cup is! Xx

Moo8879 · 17/08/2018 12:59

Hi all
Cycle 11 coming up next week, known donor insemination. Anyone else with me? Anyone using soft cups?

KinCat · 17/08/2018 11:55

@GreatestShowWoman sounds confusing and annoying. I can't remember if you said, is this your first cycle of trying? Are you temping so you can at least see retrospectively how the timing was? I guess at a festival temping might be a bit temperamental (unless you're glamping?!)

OP posts:
GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 10:24

I wonder because I tested on Tuesday morning and got nothing, then at lunch time for flashing smile. Out of sticks now and at a festival for the weekend so won’t be testing again Confused

cupcakesandglitter · 17/08/2018 10:13

@Jxtina86 I'm good thanks! I might download it, I need to start clearing my head and chilling out I think 😂

@KinCat I'd never go back on it!! It ruined me - I hate condoms with a passion but I'd rather that than go through crap again 😩

KinCat · 17/08/2018 08:51

@kmcneil91 I read somewhere that opks are best done between 10am and 6pm so probably not fmu. I think the reasoning is that the LH surge is usually during the day so you're more likely to miss it if you use fmu. Probably not worth stressing about it if fmu is more convenient though, see how it goes and if you don't find your peak then maybe try at a different time next cycle.

ImpatientMammy · 17/08/2018 08:48

@GreatestShowWoman how many chances of insemination do you get a cycle? Hope you get your static smiley soon.
I've only got 6 sticks for my clear blue left so hopefully I ovulate in the next 6 days 😂🙈 d

Peonie89 · 17/08/2018 08:46

Jumping on the September bus as AF turned up this morning! Hi everyone (Waves)

Age: 29
TTC: 1st
CD: 1
Cycle: 4

hoping this is the one for us, DP's family are all born in July so we have 8 birthdays then already and want to avoid a 9th, so we have sworn off DTD in October just in case Smile

GreatestShowWoman · 17/08/2018 08:30

Still on flashing smilie this morning which is weird as tonnes of ewcm and I never have a cycle over 28 days 🙄. Going to inseminate again this morning and keep fingers crossed

kmcneil91 · 17/08/2018 08:20

Hi all,

Can I please join?

26
TTC #1
Cycle #3

AF due 11th September. Currently on CD8 hoping to try SMEP this month along with tracking my temp. Done the OPKs last month but don’t think I done it correctly. I’m using clear blue digital and planning on using FMU is that ok?

Really hoping for this month! Keep dreaming of the day I get a BFP Blush

KinCat · 17/08/2018 06:33

@PeanutButterJellyTime2 I'm pretty sure it was just gas 😂 it felt a bit different to usual though, much more stabby.

I've tried to record all possible "symptoms" on fertility friend to prevent symptom spotting but it hasn't stopped me clearly!

OP posts:
PeanutButterJellyTime2 · 17/08/2018 06:05

@KinCat I'm totally oblivious to those types of cramps - I wish I did get or feel them so I had something to go on. I'm forever symptom spotting and it always turns out I just need the toilet or I've over eaten.
Story of my life!

KinCat · 17/08/2018 03:17

I had really bad cramping pains on my left after we dtd last night, haven't felt anything like that before. Hopefully a nice big egg getting itself ready!

@Jxtina86 I agree with you on the subtle at the time but retrospectively significant effects of hormonal BC. Since getting the coil out I feel so much more measured and able to deal with life. It's hard to disentangle it from the positive effect of moving forward with life and trying for a baby though (something I've wanted for years so would naturally be happy about).

I'm not sure I'll go on hormonal BC again even though I loved the lack of periods. In hindsight it did affect my moods quite badly.

@cupcakesandglitter I'm good thanks! You?

Headspace is good - it has a basics series to get you going and then there is a number of free sessions you can use before you have to pay a subscription I think. I've only done the free ones and find it's good to just switch off. I feel a lot calmer after I've done a session. But then again I feel a lot calmer since coming off the pill - it's weird, I realised how numb and irrational I could be in equal measure on the pill but only after I came off it. My poor husband has put up with me like that for 10 years!

ImpatientMammy · 16/08/2018 18:14

@em254 I think I remember we where in sink on the lost board. Unless I've got mixed up with user names. Anyway CD10 here too hopefully your ovulation holds off long enough to give you a chance this month x

em254 · 16/08/2018 18:08

@GreatestShowWoman unfortunately the dates really didn’t click with me until this morning and at 5:30am I just didn’t have it me! 😂🙈 I’ll be sure to jump his bones as soon as he steps off the plane! 😆

cupcakesandglitter · 16/08/2018 17:52

Hi @Jxtina86 how are you? X

I've not done the yoga before, so can't comment sorry!! Is the headspace app good? I definitely need something to calm me down, it gets a bit overwhelming and I have zero patience xx

Jxtina86 · 16/08/2018 17:45

Hi ladies - hope I can join in! Recognise a few names from the waiting to conceive board!

So I'm 31, Cycle 1 and TTC#1. I came off the pill in July, had my withdrawal bleed and then a 38 day cycle to my first natural period (which seems to be coming to an end 4 days in). I'm tracking my temperature and using Flo. Planning on DTD every other day to begin with as I'm still a little unsure of my ovulation pattern (Flo seems to chop and change it's mind!)

Saw some people mention fertility yoga on YouTube? Is there anyone particular who is recommended to follow? I've also started using the Headspace app to keep focused and calm about the whole process - determined not to get obsessive but that didn't pan out last month when AF took her time to arrive!
