Hi wondering if anyone is around 9dpo and wants to join me for the agonising wait? I'm trying to hold off from testing until at least 12dpo but it's so hard! I've never obsessed over something so much and I'm only on my 2nd cycle Sad

I'm so sorry that you're feeling rubbish @thethree. I don't think I would like it if my oh worked away. In my work I am regularly away but only usually for a night or two per month. I don't like that very much either! X

Thethreeandme · 16/09/2018 09:28

@blitzen unfortunately not, I've got the three children here and work myself 4 days a week .. plus two dogs lol. I've found it really hard this morning .. I've never had to have him work away and I'm finding it really difficult that I'm not going to see him. Has anyone else done this and how do you cope I'm so upset which isn't what he needs but I don't know how to feel positive about it xx

blitzen · 16/09/2018 09:00

@thethree sorry to hear af showed up. Roll on November. Would there be any possibility of joining your oh away for a few days? X

@lavender, yes not too long in reality but it has felt like an eternity and has probably been one of the most stressful times for me. I am still not counting my chickens either. Just so anxious. X

Thethreeandme · 15/09/2018 20:24

@lavenderlove I don't envy you and that tww.. it's so hard. I didn't test at all this month just waited for it. But my cycles are 34 days now and I'm not sure if tjat means I may not be ovulating.. period only lasts 2-3 days as well xx

lavenderlove · 15/09/2018 20:20

@Thethreeandme yeh it's not easy. Horrible when it bothers you a bit but I'm sure it will happen at the right time for us. I also thought it would be easy. I actually just assumed it would happen the first month as I only missed a few pills when I got caught with my ds. So I think it's been harder to accept that it's taking longer. Thank you I hope it happens as soon as possible for you too! I think I probably ovulate within the last 4 days, I'm currently on CD 15. So I'm probably in the TWW now as af due on 29th X

@lavenderlove no I understand, as it goes my sister is 8 weeks now so it's a but of a kick in the teeth even though I'm happy for her. It's not as easy and quick as I stupidly thought it would be. Well maybe the universe knows it's the right time for you now fingers crossed I'd be over the moon for you.. when do you ovulate this month xx

lavenderlove · 15/09/2018 19:30

Sorry that was in reply to you @Thethreeandme forgot to tag you x

Yeh I try to think that way too. We've had a lot of stress with our house the last few months which got resolved on Friday so I'm hoping the reduction in stress might help move things along lol. And I'm ok thank you are you? I'm just not liking how TTC is making me feel and think. 2 of my work friends told me they have started TTC and my first thought was about how crap I would feel if they conceived before me. How stupid is that! I'm normally a person who doesn't compare myself with others and is happy for them but TTC is taking over my mind! I feel better for acknowledging them feelings though (sorry for the rant) as I could never tell anyone in rl X

@lavenderlove yes it's frustrating. I'm also on cycle 4.. well 5 next. I'm just trying to comfort myself in that maybe it was meant to be this time with oh working so much .. how are you feeling? Xx

lavenderlove · 15/09/2018 19:11

@blitzen not too long then! Although I'm on cycle 4 and it feels as though I've been trying forever haha. Just goes to show it happens when you least expect it!

@Thethreeandme sorry to hear af has arrived for you. That must be frustrating that your oh is working away but i'm sure October will fly by like the rest of the year has!

@spottypyjamas thanks I'm trying my best to keep myself in check haha. I don't have any preg tests in the house either and I am not going to buy any until nearer the end of the month when af is due. I was using the cheap tests a lot too but I've not heard great things about them from other people

Af arrived for me today the cow bag.. and oh is working away this month .. looks like I'm moving onto November lol xx

blitzen · 15/09/2018 18:34

Hello @lavender, it was 6 months. Tried smep the last two but to be honest I didn't think I had even ovulated this month.

spottypyjamas · 14/09/2018 17:48

@lavenderlove good luck with the more relaxed approach! I'm trying to adopt it myself this month. I really want to avoid doing any pregnancy tests. I'm not going to buy any. The cheap tests are just causing upset! X

spottypyjamas · 14/09/2018 17:46

So I think I ovulate next Mon or Tues. I've woken up today full of cold! Typical! There always seems to be something around this time each month! Dunno what to do now. Risk infecting him tonight? Wait til nearer ovulation? Argh annoying!!!

lavenderlove · 14/09/2018 16:48

@Akasia I have a DS who's 6 and I wasn't TTC when I fell pregnant with him so I'm all new to this TTC business!

Yeh I've also found my positive on OPK's usually only lasts for a few hours but a strong line usually stays for about a day. @Squ1ggle

@blitzen lucky you've got one booked in already then. Hopefully you don't have pcos. How long were you TTC?

OP posts:
blitzen · 14/09/2018 11:56

Thanks @lavender. I have a docs appointment at the end of the month, which was already booked in as I wanted to ask about potential infertility. (I still think I might have pcos). So I will just keep that appointment as my docs takes usually a month or more unless it is an emergency.

Squ1ggle · 14/09/2018 10:04

Ah ok @Akasia that wasn't clear from the instructions so I haven't been doing that. I'm clearly new to this Grin

Akasia · 14/09/2018 09:57

@blitzen thank you for your positive thoughts, lovely. It is really nice to have someone to talk about these thing with.
@lavanderlove how old is your dc? Don't know why I thought you were ttc #1 😄
@Squ1ggle all I would say with the opks is try doing it a few times a day as sometimes the peak only lasts for a few hours and might miss it. I tend to do 3 a day at least. When I wasn't I always seemed to miss it. Have fun tonight though 😃

lavenderlove · 14/09/2018 09:40

Thanks @blitzen I'm feeling a lot more positive today! I hope everything progresses really smoothly for you, I'm sure it will! Have you booked in at the doctors or anything yet? Even though I already have a DC I actually can't remember what you do when you get a positive test! Haha x

I love this thread, so lovely to see people get their bfps. This is my first month using opks, have only been doing them since Wednesday as I think I'm due to ovulate on Sunday so I'm just wanting to know if that is accurate. If it is then I probably won't bother using them again tbh. Dh has been away this week but is back tonight so hopefully we'll still have a chance this month

blitzen · 14/09/2018 08:44

Got everything crossed for you, @akasia @lavender and @thethree. I think this thread is a good place to be for positive energy when you might not feel able to talk about it in person. I am really grateful for the support on this thread. Thank you x

blitzen · 14/09/2018 08:40

Hi @Dreamin. Think I am 5+5. Think my due date is around 19th May if it all progresses as I hope. I've been feeling pretty rough for about ten days. I thought it was just the usual pmt. Even had a few drinks on Friday night thinking I was okay to do so after a very negative test on roughly cd 26. Didn't even think I had ovulated as had no luck with opks. Still feel like I have pmt or a hangover with low level cramps when I lie down and Babylons fit to burst. So sore. But I am okay! How are you doing? X

lavenderlove · 13/09/2018 18:19

@Akasia no it's not easy at all. I don't think it's possible to not think about it when it's something you really want. I also keep getting thoughts like "will I ever be" etc and it's driving me mad as logically I know it's likely to happen at some point. Thanks I've been using conceive plus this month so I will let you know how I get on! I'm due af on the 29th sept which seems ages away at the minute! X

OP posts:
Akasia · 13/09/2018 17:18

It's not easy, is it, @lavaderlove. As much as you are happy for them, and I really really am, all it makes me think about is why am I not pg yet, will I ever be etc.
Then I read that when you're not thinking about it and when you're relaxed thats when is happening. But how can you when it just doesn't seem to work?
Read some good stuff about pre seed and conceive plus, maybe give that a go as well.
