Hi I've been lurking for a couple of days. Really encouraged by your good news @delilah7. I'm ttc #1. At due August 6th-ish

CookieWaffle · 27/07/2018 16:27

Well @AmyRhodes gather all your stats for this month and if it looks a bit odd by the end you've got your evidence for the doc. This whole TTC lark has taught me you can't worry about what you don't know :)

Will be keeping finger crossed that AF stays away @
BambiOnIce80! Love the 1/4 of a cat!

My ovulation predictions have been a bit weird, FF says I will ovulate on Monday and another app is saying tomorrow. Either way hopefully we can get another attempt this weekend!

BambiOnIce80 · 27/07/2018 14:53

Welcome @AmyRhodes and @ValidUser 🙂

Cats: 0.25. He's not ours (no idea who's he is!) but he visits every night after work and sits on the sofa with us and watches TV 😸

I took your advice @RanchoRelaxo and ordered the IC early tests to help with my to drink/not drink G&T quandary 👍 Have a sinking feeling that AF is going to rock up tomorrow anyway despite the BFP OPK on CD15, implying it shouldn't arrive until Monday (CD30) 😒 Ah well, at least I'm figuring out how long my luteal phase is now.

AmyRhodes · 27/07/2018 13:41

@RanchoRelaxo

My app reckons I'll ovulate on CD22 which doesn't give me the ten days I need before AF on CD30.

Makes me a bit worried.

RanchoRelaxo · 27/07/2018 13:35

Hi AmyRhodes and ValidUser!
Just to add I am 25 and have 2 cats Grin
I ovulate late, generally around cd20/21 and with that I've got a short luteal phase (about 8/9 days) however last month it went up to 10 days so I am hoping its finally getting longer Smile

CookieWaffle · 27/07/2018 13:23

Oh yes and Cats: 0 for me too! Though if TTC doesn't work...

AmyRhodes · 27/07/2018 13:19

@CookieWaffle

Here's my chart! I see no rhyme or reason in it at the moment and I don't know whether to look for a drop in temp or a spike? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The dotted line is my app's prediction. So here's hoping. But it looks like me and my other half are going to be on a long haul flight exactly when time comes to dtd!!

Edit: Mean old mumsnet won't let me post a picture because I'm new!

ChaosMoon · 27/07/2018 13:17

I'm 34 and have no cats...

Welcome @AmyRhodes and @ValidUser!
AmyRhodes has the reading on the opks been getting stronger? Or have you had a close reading at any point? Could be you've missed the surge, (it doesn't last long) or that you've had a slightly shorter luteal phase. I've never had a positive opk, though I've got close (I'm on cycle 3). I find temping much better, but then I've been doing it for over a year, so plenty of practice.

CookieWaffle · 27/07/2018 13:10

Welcome new ladies!

@AmyRhodes I'm the opposite, mum and sister had troubles so that left me panicking! Very hard not to :) I'm so obsessed with the charting, I've learned so much! From what I've read it's your luteal phase length that's important, tracking will at least let you know. If its really short I think you can take things to regulate it (under 10 days). You can also get blood tests to tell when you ovulate.

OPKs don't work for everyone, I've never had a positive one, I get a slight line then gone! I track my temperatures too, when it goes up I know I've ovulated. Added my May one to show you what I mean, all neg OPKs but temps definitely changed! You might find that you already have ovulated. Temp tracking can be awkward too as you have to do it as soon as you wake up and around the same time everyday. But it's definitely interesting! I've let my OH know I do it but I don't go on about it. He just checks with me when it's time and away we go!

@ValidUser @AmyRhodes I don't think you ladies realise how a lovely message can make my day when I haven't told lots of my family about it yet. So nice I can talk openly about it!

ValidUser · 27/07/2018 12:34

@Delilah7 followed your story on the last thread. Couldn't be more thrilled for you!

AmyRhodes · 27/07/2018 12:32

Good luck validuser!

Me too for number 1.

Age: 32
Cats: 1

ValidUser · 27/07/2018 12:29

Hello all! Cycle one, day 3 here, TTC number 1.

Age: 28
Cats: 3

On my vitamins, baseline bloods good, started using OPKs last month (because I'm obsessive).

AmyRhodes · 27/07/2018 12:19

Congratulations Delilah! So exciting!

This is my first post. TTC #1, Cycle 4, CD 19.

I always hoped I'd get pregnant right away like my mum and sister, so I'm trying to keep the creeping anxiety at bay. My partner and I initially decided we would be super chilled, no tracking, measuring etc. Just all the shagging!

But now that I'm on Cycle 4 and no positive, I'm getting proactive- and I'm glad I did! Turns out I must ovulate waaaay later than I thought. My cycle is bang on 30 days and I've been using OPKs for the last week and still negative on CD19! Anyone else ovulate late? Should I be worried?

Anyway, I'm on mucus watch!

Good luck everyone!

Delilah7 · 27/07/2018 11:52

@CookieWaffle thank you. Honestly. You girls have been amazing. I couldn't of done it without you lot. I'm going to keep you all updated on everything. I'm super excited.

CookieWaffle · 27/07/2018 11:47

Ah @Delilah7 this is your time to relax now, the work has been done! You're probably going to be feeling lots of weird changes but remember you've got everything positive going for you, you're young, healthy, you conceived within 3 months which is great. There's nothing to imply anything bad is going to happen now :)

Delilah7 · 27/07/2018 10:04

@Simplethings121 thanks lovely!! just worried now every pain I'm like am I miscarrying and all sorts x

Simplethings121 · 27/07/2018 10:02

OMG @delilah7 Amazing amazing amazing!!!! Congratulations!! I honestly cant wait for that feeling.
I completely understand feeling worried about losing something you've waited what seems like forever for but all i can advise is try to enjoy it!
@cookiewaffle @chaosmoon thanks for the replies ill be there waiting with all you guys!
Just frustrating i have nothing to track yet! Aww well, time will tell i suppose. Fingers crossed still for all of us! Xx

ChaosMoon · 26/07/2018 22:53

Don't apologise @BambiOnIce80. Didn't you say this was the first time you've used opks & the first time you've ovulated that late? Could be you just have a slightly shorter luteal phase. I found that when I started temping. Natural Cycles & Clue agree on af but not on ovulation because clue only uses averages.

@RanchoRelaxo I think we were. Smile I agree, the people you'd want to support you if it doesn't work out are probably worth telling early. I'd keep the numbers small though.

Delilah7 · 26/07/2018 20:49

@RanchoRelaxo yeah I think that's true....

@BambiOnIce80 well I had a cheeky Chinese. I know I've got to be careful with certain stuff but I only had abit!

@Patapouf I guess it's all new to me so I'm abit confused what to do!! I'll tell more people the closer I get to my scan.

@italianwifey thank you!! Hope you're well xxx

italianwifey · 26/07/2018 20:31

@delilah7 just wanted to say congrats I remember you from previous threads!! Happy you got your BFP :-) xx

Patapouf · 26/07/2018 20:22

Thanks cookie I’m glad I’m not alone!

Huge congrats delilah!! I think it’s probably fairly normal to worry about risks early on, I know that as soon as I’m lucky enough to get a BFP I’ll move from worrying about fertility to miscarriage.

I think I would probably tell my DM and DH immediately but wouldn’t share it with friends that I would expect support from until at least the first scan.

BambiOnIce80 · 26/07/2018 20:14

@RanchoRelaxo - that's not a bad idea 💡😃 IC's purely to safe guard against gin and tonic guilt! I'm off to hit Amazon Prime!

BambiOnIce80 · 26/07/2018 20:09

And @Delilah7 - I hope you're still going to have some Ben and Jerry's tonight, just in celebration rather than commiseration?! You can totally get away with it - you're eating for two now 🍨😉

RanchoRelaxo · 26/07/2018 19:59

@Delilah7 I think if it went wrong for me then I would like the support from my close friends and family, so I would definitely tell them before 12 weeks, just wouldn't go telling everyone
