Hello, we’re trying ttc #1 Cycle 2. I’ve just ordered the ovusense as I have PCOS and irregular periods. Had a check up and bloods done and I seem to be ovulating so fingers crossed it happens naturally 🤞🏻

Patapouf · 30/07/2018 22:47

I’m using Kindara but I haven’t found it to be very accurate because it’s got years worth of data dating back to when I was on various iterations of the pill which sent my periods haywire. Since I’ve started my periods, times when I’ve been off the pill, and since coming off at Xmas I’ve had a very regular cycle and using OPKs has shown that the app isn’t incapable of even accurately telling me when my period is due! I saw Clue recommended on an old MN thread and have downloaded it today, hope to plug the last 6m of data into it.

Flowers for those with AF

CrystalBlaze · 30/07/2018 22:09

Ah I'm sorry @Bambi and @Rancho. Pink gin does sound excellent though.

I'm CD 11 and absolutely no sign of ovulation according to OPKs. I think I'm just being impatient but it's frustrating.

ChaosMoon · 30/07/2018 20:00

Bugger, sorry to hear that @RanchoRelaxo. I'm glad you're spoiling yourself today.

@EarlyBird123 I think you're remarkable to cope with him working away under normal circumstances. It must be so hard while ttc!

Happy anniversary @Smileyface32. I hope this craziness hasn't distracted you from having fun.

I hope everyone else is ok.

RanchoRelaxo · 30/07/2018 18:50

BambiOnIce ah yea I remember you saying now, to be honest I don't like tonic so I only have it with lemonade (or bitter lemon for a proper treat 😂) but I really love this gin, yeah Gordons, I had it when it was on special offer and can't resist a glass when it's sat there looking all lovely 😂
CookieWaffle thanks Smile keeping my fingers crossed for you and everyone else this month!

BambiOnIce80 · 30/07/2018 17:48

@RanchoRelaxo I'm also going to be having a nice long bath when I get home - can't beat it! I indulged in the gin cocktails last night, but DP is going to be cooking me dinner to finish off the disappointment treat 🙂 I haven't tried the pink gin yet (Gordon's?) - is it any good? 🍸

CookieWaffle · 30/07/2018 17:28

Ahhh @RanchoRelaxo :( sorry to hear that. A bath and some chocolate sound amazing tho! xx

RanchoRelaxo · 30/07/2018 17:05

Ah sorry BambiOnIce80 pregnancy tests seem to have a way of bringing on periods don't they? I've just had a lovely bath and I'm going to let my hair dry naturally (sounds daft but goes nice and wavy when I do this, just don't have the time normally!) Might have some pink gin and chocolate later too Smile what are you doing?

BambiOnIce80 · 30/07/2018 16:22

Sorry to hear that @RanchoRelaxo 😔 Mine too yesterday, probably about 3 hours after the BFN 😒 I swear that my cycle is so regular that not even nuclear war could stop it!

What are you going to be doing for your "disappointment treat"?

RanchoRelaxo · 30/07/2018 15:57

Well af has arrived this afternoon 👎 good luck to everyone else still in with a shot

CrystalBlaze · 30/07/2018 15:13

Fingers crossed for you @Smileyface, that would be lovely timing.

I'm just using Flo and OPKs. Find them really useful

Smileyface32 · 30/07/2018 13:16

Thankyou @BambiOnIce80 and @CookieWaffle I’ll try and wait if that’s the case. I was going to give it until the weekend and I need to remember this was our first cycle trying and it doesn’t always happen on the first try. I’ll keep my self occupied for the rest of the day 😊

CookieWaffle · 30/07/2018 13:10

Happy anniversary @Smileyface32 :) Yes I know its hard but try and wait if you can xx

BambiOnIce80 · 30/07/2018 13:06

@Smileyface32 the early tests aren't very accurate until about 12 to 15dpo, so you might get a false negative. If that doesn't bother you though, you might be lucky and get a BFP.

Happy anniversary, by the way 🙂

Smileyface32 · 30/07/2018 12:52

I feel like caving in and testing today. I’m going to pick up a cheap test. Any recommendations? I’m on 10 dpo so don’t know if this is too early. If it’s positive it would be the perfect news as this is our 1 year anniversary

veeboo · 30/07/2018 10:24

Hi @earlybird123 I'm on second month of using opks. My bf doesn't work away but we do struggle to dtd every other day as advised so I am finding them useful in getting the right window and my bf seems to be okay with it too. We've been ttc probably since April meaningfully but I think this month was the first we caught the right days. I bought cheapies from amazon and they are easy and reliable. AF due 6th August. Fx! xx

EarlyBird123 · 30/07/2018 09:00

Thanks @delilah7 and congratulations! I have just ordered some ovulation tests anyway just so i feel like i am doing all i can :) with DP in the forces is soooo hard!

Delilah7 · 30/07/2018 07:28

@EarlyBird123 all i worked from was flo app and I'm now 4 weeks pregnant. I didn't use anything else x

CookieWaffle · 30/07/2018 07:01

Totally up to you @EarlyBird123, as long as you're timing it in the week before you're predicted to ovulate (for a 28day cycle that's day 14). Some do ovulation tests, some take their temperature every morning. Personally I do both as I've found it really interesting and it's made me feel less helpless in trying to get pregnant!

EarlyBird123 · 30/07/2018 06:50

I am using Flo app to see where i am more likely to get pregnant, but you are right, from reading the previous posts it seems that i need something more scientific than that ;)

CookieWaffle · 30/07/2018 06:45

@Hofty technically you're not even pregnant yet so it is early, the tww is such fun... FF says I'm 3dpo so we're gonna be test buddies it seems! Smile

Hey @EarlyBird123 same here, since April. I didn't realise how normal it is not to get pregnant in the first month. Have you been charting your cycle?

BambiOnIce80 · 29/07/2018 22:25

Hi @EarlyBird123 and welcome 🙂 It's all quite overwhelming when you're starting out and I think we all just assume we'll be pregnant after 1 or 2 tries without any effort whatsoever... sadly a lot of us find it's not so straightforward 🙄 Other than DTD, have you tried any kind of tracking your cycle yet?

EarlyBird123 · 29/07/2018 21:51

Hi, can i join please? We have been trying since April and nothing :( i am trying to be cool about it but DP is going away for work for six months in Nov and i feel like i am running out of time... Maybe we are doing something wrong?

Hofty · 29/07/2018 21:20

I posted this on the August bus thread too, but ah well.

I’m 4 days post ovulation now, we’re away celebrating FIL’s birthday, so I’ve been having a few Wine. I’m pretty relaxed about that though as it’s only cycle 1 of ttc #1.

I’ve had a horrible taste in my mouth all day that I can’t get rid of, and (tmi alert) creamy cm. I hardly ever get cm, barely even during ovulation. I’m trying not to drive myself mad by overthinking these as pregnancy symptoms! I don’t think it’s too likely, we missed my two most fertile days. We DTD 4 days before ovulation, 2 days before, 1 day after, and 2 days after.

I think it’s going to be a long tww.

Hofty · 29/07/2018 21:19

@Delilah7 if it were me I’d tell him Flowers
