Anyone successfully lengthened luteal phase with clomid and got pregnant?

Hi. I've just been prescribed clomid because I have a luteal phase of between 7 - 9 days. I'm due to start taking the tablets in a couple of weeks time and was really positive about it until about 2 days ago when I read that only about 65% of women who take clomid get pregnant. I have ds 2 who was conceived 2nd month of ttc so was really shocked when I discovered my cycle had changed so much. I need some success stories to get me feeling positive again. Also any advice on best time to take tablets would be appreciated. By the way I'm starting on the lowest dose (50mg) and am having regular blood tests and mid cycle scans. Please help

ME ... similar luteal phase defect was ov on day 23

first cycle

50mg x 5 days from day 1 of period

conceived DD

didn't have any tests or scans whilst on it, it didn't bring my ovulation forward at all but patently extended luteal phase sufficiently for me to conceive. I was told it isn't cumulative btw

was told that when you're pg your hormones get thrown up in the air and they land any which way afterwards so conceiving DS1 within 2 months had no bearing on secondary infertility

I got pregnant by taking clomid.
I'm not sure that my luteal phase was too short, but I know that I wasn't ovulating properly, despite having periods.
Anyway, I was prescribed clomid for it.
I took one pill a day for 5 days from the 5th day of my period. (if I remember correctly)
That didn't seem to have the desired effect, so the dose was doubled to two pills a day, one morning and one night. I got pregnant the first cycle on that dosage.
DD is now 6 months old.
I've seen other posts on this site talking about blood tests and scans when using clomid.
I was given neither. I used ovulation kits to check for myself when I was fertile.
The doctor was only interested in whether my next period arrived, therefore necessitating the next dose.
