Because of my irregular cycle last month I am only still on CD9! Feeling so jealous of everyone a week ahead of me! ☹️ If I am back to my 27/28 day cycle I should be ovulating in approx 5 days time. Starting opks on tues. Me & OH are both off work this coming week from work so I’m keeping my FX that this is my fertile week as we have lots of spare time. 🤞🏼

8DaysAWeek · 04/08/2018 23:21

At a toddler class the other day one of the mum's brought her 10 day old son with her while her 2 year old was doing the class. My ovaries almost burst, he was just amazing.

TheMagicTorch · 04/08/2018 21:55

@BasinHaircut I've just spent the afternoon with 4 nephews between 2 and 13 - blooming shattered!! Can't wait to have one of my own they can play with though.

BasinHaircut · 04/08/2018 21:49

Thanks guys it makes me feel better that other people are in the same position regarding not being 100% signed up to it all of the time.

Just been to a BBQ all day with our friends and their kids. Lovely day but seeing the ones with younger kiddies has made me feel exhausted just watching them.it does make me question it all, but I have to remember they are not babies forever!

8DaysAWeek · 04/08/2018 18:40

Cycle 5, TTC #2. I know what you mean in a way. DH isn't away but with DS and his terrible sleeping pattern and general neediness trying to find time to actually have sex is difficult! So it's easier to know when I'm at the fertile period to get the drive to find a way haha. So romantic this TTC isn't it!?

Mcdonald234 · 04/08/2018 18:31

Thanks so much for you help @8daysaweek it can be so frustrating TTC! Things would be so much easier if my partner was home all the time but I suppose I need to try and stay relaxed about it. I haven’t tried temping I didn’t even want to do OPKs but I wanted to be sure I was ovulating. I might look into it in the near future if things don’t work out. Which cycle are you on just now?

8DaysAWeek · 04/08/2018 18:16

Hi mcdonald! I think it's totally normal to get ewcm throughout your month, so I wouldn't make assumptions from that alone.

I guess it's difficult if you don't have consistent cycle lengths. For a 31 day cycle, and an average LP of 14 days, you would expect O at day 17, so your initial peak would be about right. If this is a 35 day cycle then itd make more sense you were ovulating now. Ah how frustrating for you :(

I took a month out of tracking etc last month and it was good to just chill a bit. I'm back onto it now but I feel better that this works best for me.

Also, have you tried temping? That would pinpoint O better for you for future cycles.

Mcdonald234 · 04/08/2018 17:24

Hi all, going to join this as I’m usually a snooper but feel I’m starting to go slightly mad with TTC.
Age - 29
TTC #1
Cycle #6
CD - 21 of a 31-35 day cycle
Peak OPK on CD 16 so could be 4/5 DPO
AF due - 17th Aug

Today I had a bit of EWCM and last month I got two peaks using the clear blue monitor. I know you aren’t supposed to test after your peak but I did as I had EWCM. I think I might be gearing up to ovulate then I actually ovulate later and that’s why my cycle is long. Frustrating as my OH works away and this month was the FIRST month he was home when I got a positive OPK. So disappointed to see EWCM. If it doesn’t happen this month I am going to stop tracking and delete my apps because there’s nothing more frustrating than getting a positive OPK and your partner is away 😢.

alicepol · 04/08/2018 17:21

All the time! 😂😂 il pretend I'm over it until were out the fertile week then he will hear about it 😂

8DaysAWeek · 04/08/2018 16:25

Hahaha so not just me! That's exciting about the positive opk though 😁 almost in the 2ww!

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 04/08/2018 16:23

@8daysaweek this is my life right now 😂😂😂
Got my positive opk this morning but I’m pissed off with DP - but im gonna stew on it til Tuesday 😂

8DaysAWeek · 04/08/2018 16:14

I guess it's normal to go back and forth sometimes. I 100% want a second, but work wise I would love to change jobs. I don't want to change jobs and fall pregnant, so my plan is have a second, take maternity then go back to a different job. Of course, 5 months into TTC and I'm still unhappy in work and not pregnant. There's always some reason to delay things. I want a closer age gap so I'm really not keen on waiting a year or two but it's an ongoing battle within myself of what to do work wise.

On the subject of OHs being an asshole, don't you hate it when you have an argument but you're in your fertile week and it's like... I don't want to have sex with you but I want to be pregnant so let's just do this 😂

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 04/08/2018 15:30

It’s me that’s getting cold feet in our relationship. I really do want another child but if I’m honest I’m not sure if it’s too soon after my mmc. But, age is not on my side (37) and I’m scared that putting it on hold for a while isn’t such a good idea.

alicepol · 04/08/2018 14:01

My DH was the same for a while where he would go back and forth between wanting another one and not. I think he's pretty set on yes now but every now and then he talks about money etc. He's one of them that will um and ah until it happens and then he's over the moon 😂

I said ‘right now’ a lot in that Blush

BasinHaircut · 04/08/2018 13:44

Ah we go back and forth on it 8days, and DS has been an utter arse the past few days Grin so it’s lookingless attractive right now. I don’t think the heat helps.

It’s a weird one, we are fairly content as a family of 3 right now and there are obviously upsides and downsides to both having another or not. We’ve both just got pretty decent pay increases and are fairly flush right now. I think the thought of handing it all over in childcare is not sounding too good either.

If I’m honest if I wasn’t 35 I probably wouldn’t be looking to TTC right now but I do feel like if we didn’t go for it soon then we will have closed that door which feels sort of sad.

8DaysAWeek · 04/08/2018 12:36

Where do you think that's come from basin??

BasinHaircut · 04/08/2018 06:24

Welcome ununpentium, for DS I cand off the pill and was pregnant before I had any form of period so you never know!

Forgot to OPK at all yesterday so could have missed the surge. Just done one now and it’s negative, not even a suggestion of a line. I’m CD15.

DH saying last night how he isn’t sure about another child now. Shock

Llanali · 03/08/2018 21:47

Fingers firmly crossed for you! @ununpentium

Yes, do try to wait. I sympathise though! It’s so hard.

I’d been on the pill and then had two back to back implants for 12 years,..... i had the implant out and had my first period, got pregnant straight away! My daughter is almost 5.

Though, we are approaching two years trying for this one: I did get pregnant last year but had a miscarriage at 13/14 weeks. That screwed my cycles a bit, and we have been trying for 8 months to catch again. Fingers crossed for us all SmileFlowers

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 03/08/2018 21:35

Welcome @ununpentium

The FRER are 6 days before missed period, so, 5 days before period due.

They’re 62% accurate at 5 days before so don’t put too much faith in them.

I’ve been pregnant 4 times (3 births) and I’ve never had a positive test before my period was due.

Anecdotally, my sister got pregnant the first time she ever had sex so never say never.

🤞 for you

ununpentium · 03/08/2018 20:56

Can I join? I don't know what all the abbreviations mean.

This is my first time trying to conceive, I'm 29. My period is due on the 8th August and I'm 9 days post ovulation. I actually did one of those first response pregnancy tests today as I'm 6 days away from my period and it was negative. Trying to force myself to wait another 3 days or so before taking another test. According to my period tracker, I had sex 3 times in my fertile period so I am hopeful (but not sure it's realistic to get pregnant on the first try?)

Llanali · 03/08/2018 20:34

God I’m struggling! This was my first month of tracking ovulation, and it’s made me obsessive!! Im either 5 or 3dpo and I’m desperate to POAS which is LUDICROUS.

purplestar9 · 03/08/2018 13:11

Yep, sure is. I think I have another week until I even hit my fertile period so even longer for ovulation!
It's out 1st wedding anniversary at the end of the month so I'm really hoping this is our month. It would be such an amazing anniversary gift for us both!

alicepol · 03/08/2018 11:34

Yep! @8daysaweek It's going soo slow!

This month dragging in for anyone else? Not sure to ovulate for another week. Feel like I'm wishing my life away!
