implantation bleeds and stuff

You do know me, it's just that I don't feel ready to talk about any pg issues openly yet - this soon after my mc I feel uncharacteristically reticent!

Since my last period we suddenly got broody, after having said we'd wait some time. So we did the tests, worked out my dates and did the deed last Saturday.

Now, I am not sure exactly when my last period started, but I would expect my next one to be 14 days after ovulation - surely whatever the length of your cycle, it is always 14 days after ovulation? So a bit of bleeding (stringy brown bits) yesterday - is that an implantation bleed? Is an implantation bleed usually accompanied by lower back period type pains? Or is all this in my head?

ssshhh I so hear you! I am paranoid about being pg as it will likely mean a m/c but upset to think that I may never get pg again... SO confusing. I think that it is pointless to compare my situation to others as there is no connection between them but it is hard when everyone around me thinks that I am a freak for worrying about things that they just take for granted. (like when you get pg, nine months later you deliver a healthy baby)

Wish I could be more helpful. Hope it is bfp when you do test in which case we will all be here to help you cope with the fear of another m/c but if it is bfn then I offer a virtual-shoulder to cry on until next month when it all starts again.

How are you scaredstupid? Have you been sick?

nutcracker - how was your night? How are the pains in your side?

I'm still spotting this morning. Feel a bit scared, like I'm in a lose-lose situation. Either I test and it's negative, or it's positive in which case I then get scared about either another mc or having to go through the whole baby stage again - this time with added toddler obstacles! It just seems like a big world!

Hope you all slept well. Were you up in the night nutcracker?
Is anyone else feeling sick this morning?

Scaredstupid · 20/08/2004 00:08

nutcracker: Sorry that you are feeling so unwell... It could be a good sign but the pain in the side is worrying. I did wonder about ectopic as well (like all you need is another person who is paranoid about your health). Why are you waiting until the 28th to test? Please forgive me if it is obvious and I have just missed the reason.

TLTW Your description of the sickness you experience could have been written by me! I was sure that the dairylee cheese thing was unique to me. I would not normally want to eat it but when I am pg I long to have everything that seems unhealthy or slightly against the 'rules'. I never drink coffee and I only rarely drink red wine but I know that the minute these things hold a strong appeal that I must have fallen again--odd.

ssshhh No more spotting? When are you going to test? How was your day?

ssshhh · 19/08/2004 22:38

hugs nutty, I hope you're feeling a bit better, and not too many loo trips in the night!

My sickness keeps coming and going, it's driving me mad now.

I still have the pain in my side and it has gotten a little worse. It does seem very similar to ov pain but I am a bit worried that it could be ectopic pregnancy too.

twolongtwoweeks · 19/08/2004 17:49

im not sure if implantation does cause any pain, it was just a thought really Nutcracker so dont take my word on it. Maybe some other wise old mumsnetter will know.

Sshh give us a clue, go on!!!

nutcracker · 19/08/2004 13:33

Ahhh contact lenses thanks for reminding me Ssshhh. I had just started wearing them when i got pregnant with Ds and found them very irritataing.
I'll have to go find them later and try them out.

Never in this world will I be able to wait unbtil the 28th to test. Is it the first response one that can tell about 3 days before ??
If it is I will get one of those and test on thursday. OMG thats a week today

ssshhh · 19/08/2004 13:27

Anyway, I think I might cheat and test tomorrow morning instead of Saturday. Here are my (feeble) justifications:

  1. we are going to a wedding tomorrow, by train. Therefore I should check whether I can drink or not.

  2. I like to use a very popular maternity hospital which I'm out of area for - and you need to book in by 6 wks or you don't get in. So I'm better off ringing to get a GP appt. tomorrow - sometimes you have to wait a week for one.

Aren't they excellent excuses? (obviously I mean reasons, not excuses)

It isn confusing, isn't it. Because then you start beating yourself up over imagining things. I have even in the past blamed the fact that I have imagined symptoms as the reason why I failed to conceive that month! What do I mean "in the past?" I am doing it right now! I have become convinced that I am pg, and I know that when my period comes I will tell myself off and say that the reason why I am not pg is because I thought I was. Hmmm, and I claim not to believe in superstition!

I have no symptoms apart from the normal period ones Previous symptoms were:

DS: spotting, crying, couldn't wear contact lenses, tiredness

MC: tiredness, crashing car, tiredness, thirst

Can't say I have any of them right now (maybe if I dug out my old contact lenses ...)

I am really enjoying guessing at who people are and chatting on this thread - takes my mind off things a bit!

Well with Dd1 my symptom was very bead sickness from about 5 weeks.
With Dd2 I was very dizzy and tired and had low blood pressure.
With Ds i was constantly thirsty, and felt wishy washy IYKWIM.

The really weird thing is that I am getting ovulation pains. Mainly on the left side but also a little on the right side too. Surely i couldn't have ovulated this late could I ??

Someone (it may have been you TLTW) said it could be implantation pains, but I don't think i've ever had them before, and the pain is exactly like i get when ovulating except maybe not as strong.

It's all sooooo confusing

twolongtwoweeks · 19/08/2004 12:46

My appetite hasnt changed. My first sign is usually retching when cleaning teeth, then go off tea then crave for dairylea cheese then sickness with a vengance. Also heave at any smell, sweet or sour. Cant stand Dp to come near me for the first 12 weeks.

nutcracker · 19/08/2004 12:43

No haven't a clue at the mo.

Think i may go and do myself some dinner, if i can eat it.

nutcracker · 19/08/2004 12:42

I'm just waiting for my friend to come round and take my mind off it all (not that she knows anything about it though).

twolongtwoweeks · 19/08/2004 12:42

Oh god not looking good then depending on how you look at it!!! Im off out now but will catch up with you later. Do you know who scared stupid and Sshh is yet?

nutcracker · 19/08/2004 12:41

I can't be getting all these symptomks soooo early though can I ???

nutcracker · 19/08/2004 12:40

erm in a word CRAP today.

I feel sick, knackered and my mouth is really dry. Oh and was up to the loo again in the night.

twolongtwoweeks · 19/08/2004 12:39

Me too, horrible isnt it. How you feeling?

nutcracker · 19/08/2004 12:37

9 days is far to long, i can't bare it any longer.

I want to know NOW

twolongtwoweeks · 19/08/2004 12:36

I dont know who is who!!!! But im sure well all find out soon. Im having no symptoms at all like you lot apart from going to loo alot but i think i go quite often anyway.

Only 9 days to go

nutcracker · 18/08/2004 23:04

Cheers TWTL

Ssshhh - Me a MN celeb, no surely not. Hmmm a lurker on my house thread, now i'm really intrigued.

Can't really say how I know who TLTW's is as a quick search would probably let the cat out of the bag.

Tonight i am feeling very thirsty, and a bit sick. Think it's all in my mind though.

Scaredstupid · 18/08/2004 20:36

Good luck finding out who we are, Sherlock Holmes. I don't even know who you are either.
Dumb question: Do you have to change your name in member profiles to go under-cover or is there another (easier) way?

twolongtwoweeks · 18/08/2004 20:19

Think i will spend the evening searching threads to see if i can work out who sshhh is and scared stupid. Have a gut feeling im not pregnant due to past problems that i can not divulge or you may guess who i am.

Im also crap at lying and keeping secrets but not as crap as Nutcracker, bless her!!!!

Scaredstupid · 18/08/2004 20:09

Nutty, Getting up in the night to wee at night sounds promising! I will be checking in for your + on the 28th.
TLTW How exiting that you actually have a planned date to test as well. (Are you going to time the tests to happen at the same time?)
ssshhh, Please feel free to say that you knew my identity all along! I am useless at secrets and I can't lie to save my soul!

No more spotting for me either. Could it possibly be a sign that there are retained materials from the m/c? Oh, I hate being paranoid about SO many things all at once.
