Hi ladies,

So, TTC is an anxious and sometimes heartbreaking time and is just a constant roller-coaster of emotions:
Some of us have been trying for a long, long time and just feeling like it will never happen.
Some of us are trying after a previous pregnancy loss.
Some of us aren't seeing eye-to-eye with OHs.
Some of us don't have an OH to lean on and are going through it alone.
Some of us are trying with fertility treatment.
Some of us are trying for our first, and some our fourth
Some of us want to be trying but can't yet for one reason or another.
Some of us are dealing with health issues which may affect fertility or mental health.
And some of us are about to, or have just started trying and might be worrying about how long it will take or if this or that will effect fertility etc etc...

It's just not the funnest journey to be on and I thought we could do with a thread just for positive messages and thoughts.

SO, no negative messages on this thread, but feel free to post:
A positive mantra or affirmation you use or think someone else could use
An idea of how to relax or pass the TTW time
A nice thing that happened to you recently
A success story despite the odds
A picture or word of hope (rainbow pictures most welcome)
A positive message to those who are going through one of the above scenarios at the moment even if you're not on the same journey as they are right now
A nice/positive quote you've read or heard
Or something which brightened up your day

The idea is that anyone having a wobble for whatever reason can come here and soak up some positive energy to help them feel better.

I'll go first:
A mantra I have been repeating to myself at the moment is "Good things happen to me. I accept miracles in my life."

A word of hope for anyone thinking of coming off the pill or who has just come off the pill and who has a history of endometriosis; I have suffered with endo in the past and was very worried that the moment I stopped taking the pill I would get all clogged up with endo again, but I conceived in the second month after coming off the pill and I have a colleague whose wife conceived two children (one the first month after coming off the pill, the second the third month after the pill) without a problem even though she has endo too.

Right, who's with me? Any more positive stuff to share anyone?

TedLife Sounds like you've done all you can this month. Try to see the TTW as relaxing time as there's nothing more you can do right now. How are you planning to pass the time?

CookieWaffle Try to re-frame it as excitement rather than fear, like you're about to go on a roller-coaster... All the nervous waiting and anticipation and those thoughts that keep popping into your head of the what-ifs (is that just me when waiting for a ride? lol)... but at the end of the day those fear-thoughts are all just part of the excitement!
It's much harder to get your head around the fact you're pregnant than you realise it's going to be, because you have nothing to see, only a few symptoms - if that for some people! and a stick with two lines on! When I got my positive in February I went out and bought a Clearblue digital with how many weeks indicator just because it wouldn't sink in and I couldn't quite believe it! It then came back 2-3 weeks and I was flabbergasted!
I wonder if my next pregnancy will be easier to get my head around?!?
They will take your word for it at the doctors, and may give you a few words of advice about taking it easy, drinking lots of water etc, (mine only did this as I'd had some bleeding so saw a GP straight away, but you probably won't even need to see a doctor). They will book you in with the midwife for your booking in appointment. Mine was supposed to be around my 9 week mark and it seemed soooo far away. So I'd get thinking of plans of distraction right now. Also because it's so hard to keep the news to yourself as it's all you can think about, so find a new hobby or something which you can distract yourself with!

I had a lovely evening with friends last night. We met up for dinner and then went bowling in the spur of the moment. We're meeting at Hobbycraft this morning as we discovered all three of us are off work today and we're all big crafters. I think it's going to be a good day. Grin

Hi ladies, currently awake as I have a bit of a stomach ache going on (I wonder what's going on down there) but hopefully this passes soon when my body gets itself in order and prepared for the next 9 months. Glad you're keeping the positivity going.

I'm in a world of confusion at the moment, a little scared about what the future will hold but I just need to take control of it a bit. Do all my reading up, make a plan and take it from there. I'll feel happier once I've got a plan in mind. DP keeps checking to see if I'm definitely pregnant and I gotta admit I am too. Will check in with the docs this week and start this scary process off. xx

TedLife · 12/08/2018 19:14

Hi @KnitKitty thanks for thinking of me. I finally got a static smiley on day 8 of testing and crazy sore nipples yesterday too so I'm convinced I ovulated yesterday or today. Had a horrible headache all this afternoon too. Got a couple more days of dtd to finish out the month. We had lunch today with friends who all not so subtly hinted that they were surprised we hadn't had a little one yet which was a bit hard to hear but we haven't told loads yet about the miscarriage. 😔

So pleased you enjoyed your haircut, it's such a treat when done nicely and you love the result. Glad you did that for yourself 😊 hope you enjoy dinner with your friends this eve, and figuring out your knitting tomorrow. I love knitting but am not very good!

Today's affirmation attached. Hoping to start the week and the TWW with positivity 😊

Hi Sunshine ladies!

How is everyone today? Sorry I've not been around much just recently. Been very busy.

TedLife Any clearer if you've ovulated yet?

Hi Virgo89, welcome to the thread! How are things going for your Nan? Supportive hugs xxx

How are the recently pregnant ladies doing at the moment?

I really enjoyed my haircut on Thursday. I felt very pampered and I've gone for quite a change in look so feel a lot fresher and lighter! :)

I heard this week that I've got an interview for a job I applied for over a month ago. The interview is on the 22nd. I'm in two minds about it, but thought I should at least go for it and see. My path may be a little clearer once I've had the interview.

Just off out for a meal with a couple of friends. Not seen one of them since Christmas time!!!
And I've been at work all weekend so it's my day off tomorrow. Looking forward to relaxing!

Really pleased because I've sorted out a knitting project I'd got stuck on because I'd made a mistake so I think I'll be trying to finish that tomorrow. Sort of hoping for a snugly rainy day in, but if the weather picks up I'm ok with that too.

Today's message:

"If 'plan A' didn't work, the alphabet has 25 other letters! Stay cool." Unknown.

I hope you get to speak to her properly today @Virgo89.

I'm 5 weeks, so it hasn't entirely sunk in yet.

I found nice genetic affirmation for today. A good go to for anyone I think. Happy weekend sunshine ladies.

@Chaosmoon They have started the process of waking my Nan up but she hasn't woken up yet. I was at the hospital for a couple of hours earlier, lots of twitching and movements so I thought she was going to wake up bit she hadn't yet. Hopefully tomorrow! Thank you for asking 😊 How are you feeling? How far along are you?

ChaosMoon · 10/08/2018 18:49

It sounds like you might be falling back on @KnitKitty's patience affirmations quite a lot in your 2(ish)ww @TedLife. They really do apply to all of us!

@Virgo89 I'm glad you found your way here. How is your nan doing today?

I'm out walking my mum's dog at the moment. Poor thing can't understand why I'm walking quite so slowly, but it's doing me the world of good trip have some green time!

CookieWaffle · 10/08/2018 09:51

@Virgo89 hope everything goes well with your nan today! xx

CookieWaffle · 10/08/2018 09:50

Thanks ladies, I still feeling a little worried but I'm trying to be as positive as possible! Patience is definitely needed today :)

Virgo89 · 10/08/2018 08:52

I've just come across this thread and love the idea of it! It's easy for us all to feel down and negative so love this thread for keeping everyone upbeat 😎

I've had a tough week as my Nan is in hospital and has had to have a high risk operation and they had to keep her asleep for a few days before waking her up. The good news is that the operation went well and they are hopefully going to wake her up today. I can't wait to see her, I just want her to be awake so I can give her a big hug!

TedLife · 10/08/2018 08:33

@CookieWaffle congrats on your deepening lines. That's wonderful news, keep up the positivity!

I'm ok. On day 7 of flashy smileys so it doesn't look like my static is in sight this month. Guessing i missed it. Have a feeling i may have ov'd earlier this week from physical symptoms but still have ewcm so just don't know. Annoying because I won't be able to tell how many dpo I am/will be. I was really trying to be so positive and zen this month and my body is now playing tricks on me so it's hard not to feel a bit cheated.

KnitKitty · 10/08/2018 08:16

CookieWaffle That's incredible. I don't feel like I have to tentatively hold it back now... CONGRATULATIONS!!! Grin

TedLife you have a knack for giving me the right affirmations and quotes for the day. Thank you for the one you posted yesterday (only seen it this morning).

ChaosMoon I totally agree we're making our own luck by being positive and trying to stay calm about TTC, and allowing our bodies to do things at their own time in their own way and not resent them for it. This thread is a real help for me to keep me trusting nature and when I'm feeling low or impatient I can come here and see the wonderful BFPs some of you ladies have already had and be reminded that this attitude is the best way to be.

I'm on my 5th cycle since MC now and part of me is feeling like it's never going to happen again. But another part of me knows that the further away from the MC I am the more mental healing I've done and the more prepared I'll be to welcome another pregnancy without panic. I was thinking about this... If I'd fallen pregnant immediately after MC I think I would have been fraught with nerves and worry, whereas I feel more ready for pregnancy again now, whether it works out this time or not.
I just need to be patient.

And the funny thing is; we wait and wait and wait for that BFP and then suddenly we find ourselves having to be patient again. Pregnancy is just one long lesson in patience too. So my quotes today are for both those of us still TTC and those of you who are now expecting.

DP was pretty sceptical at first after last month but I explained this ones definitely getting stronger. Still a little worried but it looks good so far xx

ChaosMoon · 10/08/2018 06:29

Oh my god! @CookieWaffle this is amazing, congratulations! I am absolutely thrilled for you. 😊🌹🎉 How are you feeling?

@TedLife I think that's the perfect affirmation at the moment. How are you doing my dear?

Turns out I'm now going away for this weekend but I think this is conclusve proof....

TedLife · 09/08/2018 15:02

Hi ladies, just wanted to jump in today and give an affirmation for anyone who might need it. I think we have a few bfps on the thread and others who are waiting so I thought this might help:

I am free of worry and at peace with myself. I am not afraid of what comes next

ChaosMoon · 09/08/2018 09:57

That's great @CookieWaffle. Your hormones will have more than doubled by then so it should be much clearer.

It really is @KnitKitty! But we also help make our own luck here. All this visualization really makes a difference.

At the moment I'm trying to visualise myself focusing on my work - how do you fancy my chances?

I hope everyone else is doing well too. And happy haircutting KnitKitty.

CookieWaffle · 09/08/2018 09:56

@KnitKitty I've definitely been rushing to the loo alot this week, I've been feeling really run down, like having a cold but no cold, and I've had some weird smells and tastes. I had to go find something to drink to try and get rid of the taste. I fell asleep on the sofa at 8pm last night, I'd not had a busy day at all. Plus my boobs are killing me today, that's not a usual AF sign!

KnitKitty · 09/08/2018 09:10

How exciting CookieWaffle things are looking really good!!! Grin
What unusual symptoms are going getting?

Well done for your patience with the testing. You should get a much more obvious line on Saturday so waiting is good as it'll give you more peace of mind...

I think this must be a lucky thread!

CookieWaffle · 09/08/2018 08:36

Hey @KnitKitty, I'm going to wait a little longer to be sure, but my temps are still high (highest even) and some unusual symptoms so am feeling cautiously confident. Am going to try and hold out til Saturday...

Enjoy your haircut, they always do a nice head massage with mine, very relaxing :) xx

KnitKitty · 09/08/2018 08:07

Any news this morning CookieWaffle?

Hope everyone has a lovely day today. I'm going to get my hair cut later.

@ChaosMoon that’s very true! I’d have been due af anyway had I not stopped the pill so that’s a bonus at least!

@KnitKitty thank you that’s a lovely message and you are so right. I want to be brewing the little seed when the time is right for him/her to be nice and healthy.

CookieWaffle · 08/08/2018 19:40

Bless you, that's very sweet xxx

KnitKitty · 08/08/2018 19:35

Fair enough lovely. Let us know how it goes in the morning then. I'll be thinking of you and cyber-holding your hand. xxx
