Boosey, not sure what happened originally with your palpitations but I was once sent home with an abnormal ecg (cue massive panic stations) only to discover they’d wired me up the wrong way! Glad you’re ok though.

Well.. here's a BIG thank you to everyone who said get a 2nd opinion on my heart thing. I did just that today and even got to see the head of our surgery who ...get this. ..told me i don't actually need the pills as there's nothing actually wrong with my heart!! Wtf!! I nearly fainted right there and then! ! So was the monitor on the blink? ! No..but DS had pressed the button a few times and they must have thought i had palpitations.. It just beggars belief! Why i needed drugs for that i don't understand. The doc said "so you really don't want them?" and i said "well no, not unless i have to have them"! He's prob written in my notes 'refused meds' to cover them if something did happen. But unless it's a case of legal drug pushing i don't get it. .why the other gp said my heart rate was 1000s more than it should be then prescribed the drugs unless it's a drug pushing exercise! Just bizarre! Anyway the main thing is i don't have to take them and it can't stand in the way of ttc... Hurrah!!

Actually yes, DH and I would both secretly love twins! It’s not considered a good outcome though and they do everything they can to avoid it so whilst possible it’s not likely. What I’m really not mentally prepared for is what will happen if it fails 😔 it’s so exciting but have to keep telling myself it’s still only a 20% chance this cycle, so while better than 5% it’s still not good odds!

LOL @Orchid - you’re right but wanted to give you ladies the honest truth haha. Got around a week of injections to go - scans later this week will give me exact dates. Hoping for egg collection next week if all is well 😊

Oh wow @CritterTamer, tough options, I'm thinking if it doesn't happen this week I should go see my GP.

@Cookiewaffle - we had only been ttc for 7 months, but due to age had been advised that realistically our best hope was IVF, and given that we have no DC and chances of successful IVF dramatically decrease with age too we decided to just go for it rather than waste more time trying and failing naturally only to find that IVF would be even less likely to succeed as well - if that makes sense?

Hey @CritterTamer, I like the name! How long had you been trying before you went for ivf? I worry that I should be seeking help though I've not been trying for long. I'm just scared I'm gonna miss my chance.

Welcome @Cookiewaffle. I’m also 40 and TTC #1 - currently in my first IVF cycle. Also have grandmother who gave birth to my dad at 42 so hopeful 😊

So here’s what they don’t tell you about the IVF meds (apart from how painful it is!) - the EWCM is crazy bad - truly gross for 2 days now and getting worse. Apparently it’s a good sign that the meds are working and I’m growing lots of little follicles but they could have warned me LOL. Also still no sign of the elusive condom 😳

Hi ladies, I'm 40 and TTC no#1, 3rd month. Family history of TTC for years on one side and pregnancy in 40s on the other. Hoping I'm more the other side!

I just hope it all works out in the end and this unknowing limbo ends soon for both of us. No scan booked as not been back to Drs yet and private scan guy said probably not much point unless I test positive 😕.

I was looking at the dates. On Saturday the sac should have measured 5 weeks 2 days. 4 weeks 5 days isn’t that far out? How accurate is it to the day?
