Mimosa - symptoms of high oestrogen? No, had no idea. I had one set of bloods last year, all good. Then this year, not good - high FSH and oestrogen, low AMH. Guess my body is working harder to release eggs.

Good work on cutting down supplements. I conceived fine without them then struggled since taking them.

BooseysMom · 25/06/2018 22:03

Welcome nor77 and sorry for your loss. I haven't heard of Patau Syndrome.
I've always been worried about tap water. We used to get free spring water from a local well but went back to drinking tap water when they put up signs about it being contaminated. Strange how we haven't been able to conceive since but conceived DS when we were drinking spring water. .makes you wonder!

shinyblackdog · 25/06/2018 21:47

Karigan, I know I should have updated you but somehow couldn't.

littlemimosa · 25/06/2018 21:43

Chat - your best friends words really resonate with me today. I’ve put the Maca and Vitex away. I’m goong to carry on with the multivitamins and ubiquinol for egg quality but other than that I’m going to just let me body so it’s thing. Good or bad!

littlemimosa · 25/06/2018 21:38

Ali - do you have symptoms?

littlemimosa · 25/06/2018 21:38

Hobbes/Cleo - I have considered high oestrogen but I have all the classic signs of low oestrogen and not high. I could be wrong of course and only a blood test would tell. I’ve worked hard to remove fake/ zeno oestrogens from my life (filtered tap water, no plastics, organic food, natural cosmetics and cleaning products etc etc) too. I have heard that Cleo about tap water yes. Our environment is scary.

For those of you with high oestrogen the supplement DIM is supposed to be good.

Hi all, thought I'd join the thread too. I'll be 44 in Aug, have a 3 yr old son, got pregnant end of 2016 but lost the baby to Patau syndrome when I was 15 weeks pregnant. TTC at moment, taking pregnacare, maca root and royal jelly.

Alibaba2 · 25/06/2018 20:20

I have high oestrogen puts hand up

PollyIndia · 25/06/2018 17:39

Cleozeta, that is amazing re the tap water. I’m in London and I drink 2l of tap water a day. I had self diagnosed high oestrogen levels via much googling.
Not much to report here. Didn’t Ovulate last month according to my temps; think I did this month yesterday so will see if the higher temp holds.
A lady in ds’s class had her son at 47! And she got pregnant again at 50, though lost that one. So it definitely happens...

Cleozeta · 25/06/2018 16:35

Mimosa - have you considered it may be 'high' oestrogen? I thought mine was high last year and symptoms sound similar.
Also just heard something interesting. Apparently water levels are so high with oestrogen it's killing off fish as it's turning them all female. This is in our drinking water. I don't know about you, but I drink crap loads of tap water as I was under the beleif it was good for me. But apparently the amount of people on the pill these days is causing problems with the water. DH has low testosterone and thinks it may be down to this problem. There is also a recent rise in men suffering from what is known as the male menopause, which is a natural decline in testosterone, which could be due to the water issues. It may be worse in built up cities

mellongoose · 25/06/2018 14:27

Just checking in. I'm not posting a lot (as not a lot to report) but am reading all your posts. Wishing you all fabulously healthy, regular and fertile cycles.

I'm due to ov this weekend (I think) so have started dtd every other day. As much as we can due to work any way.

I know what you mean about the ache. I'm knackered a lot of the time. My practical head says stick at one, we are too old. But then my ovaries take over and I get the ache. Deep breath and positivity.

Hobbes39 · 25/06/2018 13:56

@Karigan198 - hmm, I'm not sure what you can do if your urine levels weren't high in the first place - how frustrating for you. I'm to use a 'reasonably sensitive' pregnancy test next week and if still showing positive I need to go in and have bloods to check it is on way down.
I think if I were you I'd do as cleozeta suggests and start checking for ovulation signs x

Cleozeta · 25/06/2018 13:22

Hobbes I can sympathise, it is really awful (and a bit weird) wanting a bfn. But once you have that, ovulation will happen and your cycle will be back, so no more limbo land.

Presh, I remember reading about rasberry leaf tea for lining, and pineapple? I think there are others but I can't remember

Cleozeta · 25/06/2018 13:18

The only thing they will advise is the hcg test, but as yours never got high anyway it may just mean things return to normal fairly quick. It may be worth looking out for ovulation signs now as the bleed may be like af restarting your cycle

Presh12345 · 25/06/2018 13:16

Back to CD1. What an I do to thicken lining??

Karigan198 · 25/06/2018 12:57

So 8 days later bleeding finally stopped. How do you check hormones show miscarriage is complete when the hcg never got high to start with. Any ideas what to do as can’t go back to the dr this week?

Hobbes39 · 25/06/2018 11:45

Hi all, hope you re enjoying this sunshine!
My bleeding is tailing off now - I'm one week post ERPC, so hopefully by next week my hormones will be back to where they should be 🤞. I'm slightly dreading buying a pregnancy test to check HCG is back down next week - just so depressing to be looking for a negative...
Anyway, mimosa - you said you've self diagnosed low oestrogen- just wondering if you could get a test to check? I did acupuncture for a while with a 'natural fertility' specialist and while it clearly didn't work I do remember she said that low oestrogen isn't as common as people think as she said there are loads of oestrogens in our food etc. I know it does drop as we get older, but she was convinced that most people are low progesterone rather than estrogen... anyway, it made me think, that it's worth checking as could be treating the wrong thing...

Chatbash72 · 25/06/2018 11:31

Cleozeta OH thinks and acts like a teen, stroppy, overly dramatic.. sometime wonder if he is my extra child.. and quite clearly not paying attention in sex Ed.. as thinks you can get pregnant in the week before your af arrives.. so have to be on the ball ( so to speak 🤣🤣) early in cycle 🤦‍♀️

MATTSMAMMA · 25/06/2018 10:39

Should read still ovulating and having a regular cycle! Sorry for typos Blush

MATTSMAMMA · 25/06/2018 10:27

Morning ladies - MIMOSA I totally feel the same as you. Wondering how long I can put myself through this but I can’t let go either. I told myself 45 would be my cut off then 46 but I’m still here feeling exactly he same at 48 and I know my chances are so slim but then I have hope as I’m still ivjkatj g and have a regular albeit shorter now 25/26 day cycle. I hope you feel better soon but I so know how hard it is Sad

I’m on cd 19 of what is usually a 25/26 cycle. Symptom spotting all the time even though I know how totally unreliable that is as I had symptoms when I knew there was no chance at all of being preggo!! Only thing different this cycle is I ALWAYS get sore boobies immediately after ov but this month nothing until yesterday maybe and even then not like normal. Also had tingly right nipple and period like cramps but had them before Confused. As always trying.l not to be hopeful but failing!!

CHAT - I’m full of admiration for your stamina Grin.

WEASLE - have fun Grin

Cleozeta · 25/06/2018 10:04

Mimosa I totally understand where you are coming from, I felt exactly the same last year, and still do sometimes, although for the time being I have a modicum of hope which is something. You WILL get that hope back. Your cycles will get back on track and there will still be a chance for you. But I totally understand that when you are feeling like this during a difficult cycle it is hard to see beyond it. I went through exactly what you are going through and still got a bfp afterwards. Find some suppliments which will help you get back on track. I think as you are low on oestrogen, soy isoflavones may help you, as they can pick that back up again. Maybe one or two cycles on those could help once af returns.

Chat - wow you are super busy! I think I would rum out of steam well before ov if I did that! Haha. I use opk's etc but don't tell dh when its 'time', I just instigate then, so it's still natural and fun. We tend to do every other day for just the time through ov, so normally from the arrival of ewcm or a faint opk line to the day or so after temps have confirmed ov.

I am also currently midcycle, had a rise this morning and +opk yesterday so think I should be in 2ww now but will probably dtd once more to be sure. This cycle was really nice and smooth with no drama's, only concerns this time (there is always something) was my ewcm was brown, and ov seemed to happen a day later, as it normally happens 1st day of peak, this time it was 2nd day of peak, and there was no pre ov dip for the first time ever. But I'm not worried, in comparisson to previous months it was pretty smooth! Time to relax. I love the 2ww.

Chatbash72 · 25/06/2018 09:39

Get busy weasledee 🤣

weasledee · 25/06/2018 09:21

Ha ha chat that made me laugh Smile

So I'm right in the middle of fertile time, had a good temp drop yesterday, so looking good so far.....

Chatbash72 · 25/06/2018 07:31

I do appreciate not everyone can get that busy during the cycle.. but we are just trying to still keep it fun and do it when we fancy.... and not functional but cover our bases as not always 100% sure when the egg drops. So making sure swimmers are in the tubes somewhere... although hoping they don't have my hubs crappy sense of direction 🤦‍♀️...
