A thread for all those who have suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately know as the penguin huddle.

We'll start with a roll call as there have been so many new members lately and so many success stories that I think we've all lost track.

@Boboelephant speaking of baby baking.... I announced at work the other day!!! I may not say too much on here but I do keep an eye out every day for new bfps or news. I just know your month is coming. And they'll be a cake ready for when that day comes.

@zarala I know it does seem to have gone quite fast. But then I keep thinking... not even half way there!!

Teddy announced on his Instagram the other day too. But I'm yet to announce on my personal social media!! 🙈

@TedLife sorry to hear that hun hugs x

TedLife · 27/06/2018 22:29

BFN for me this eve. 12dpo, not feeling confident.

Boboelephant · 27/06/2018 22:19

@DaisyMay25 yep! I put a quarter apple and then half grapefruit and then another quarter apple. Trying to cover the grapefruit from all sides!
@weasledee and @Lilimum4 I hope they are good signs for you.
@TinyPaws I use the progesterone cream too. I bought it direct from the wellsprings site which is £25 but took about a week to arrive. You don't start using it till after ovulation so I bought it as soon as af arrived.
@KnitKitty lovely words as always. I am inspired by your positivity.
@Laney79 yep I hadn't heard it before either but she said it was brilliant. With your af, I'd probably count Monday as day 1 as it was the first day of heavy flow.
@Lilimum4 a nurse recommended to me that women should drink cranberry juice during their periods to help counteract blood loss.

To everyone struggling and hoping I'm sending you all hugs and baby dust. I hope it happens for us all soon. Please remember though that if it doesn't happen straight away you will find strength and carry on. Trust me, I know the heartbreak of both multiple losses and multiple months of those sticks showing one line. But we pick ourselves up and carry on so we can try again and ultimately hold our babies. We're all here for each other.

Lilimum4 · 27/06/2018 21:26

@Laney79 it really is I tried not to let it get to me but I lost the fight. What is this cranberry juice thing

Newbie21 · 27/06/2018 21:25

Great advice to all Knitkitty - I think I will get back on the bike... last cycle I felt deflated when AF turned up even though there was barely any chance of me being pregnant since I hadn't planned to TTC and OH and I were not very active at all. It's just a hard journey but one I want or need to travel - I'm just hoping it's a fairly direct route from now on but we will see.... we will all get there in the end.

Laney79 · 27/06/2018 21:21

I've not heard of the cranberry juice thing @Boboelephant thankyou-will give it a try!

@zarala It feels that way! Was very very heavy yesterday -I thought this morning it might've been laying off as I had very little but at lunchtime it started up again. It's really odd-hardly anything on the pad but gushes every time I go to the loo!!! Hoping as this is technically AF 2 post MMC that it's just doing a spring clean. Really really hoping we catch next cycle as I'd be getting my BFP around my birthday!

@weasledee My opks were really strong on holiday but I guess my body just wasn't ready yet, I have everything crossed for you.

@Lilimum4 it's crazy just how consuming this becomes isn't it! I was so blasé "well if it happens, it happens" attitude -now I've lost my first bean all I can think about is being pregnant again. It feels wrong not to be.

@Newbie21 I'm so with you. I had an MMC too and it was my first pregnancy. I'm petrified I won't catch again, or that if we are lucky it'll happen again - I desperately need to be pregnant again, but I'm so scared of losing too, and ultimately I'm petrified of never actually holding my baby in my arms, never being a mom.

@Pancakes7 it's amazing how it seems every pregnant woman seems to appear after you've had a MMC isn't it. So hard.

Quick q re: tracking apps...this AF appears to have started Saturday (I had a gush of red blood) but then just spotting the rest of sat and sun, before more consistent heavy flow Monday-so what do I class as CD1? Sat or mon? Ta X

Sorry not to reply to everyone-moving so fast! Baby dust and hugs to all xxx

KnitKitty · 27/06/2018 21:16

Pancakes7 I'm glad the UTI is improving. It's so hard not being pregnant anymore. I found it really difficult to see pregnant women for a month or so. It's 3 months to the day now since my ERPC and I can honestly say time has been a healer. It's still hard seeing pregnant women, but it doesn't make me want to sob any more. I try to silently send good wishes to the woman and baby for a healthy pregnancy when I notice a bump and repeat to myself something nice like "it'll happen for me too when the time is right". It seems to help.

Newbie21 I think you've pretty much summed up how we all feel on this thread about TTC again after pregnancy loss. Hugs. At least we have each other for comfort. All we can do is hope and pray and not give up. If you don't feel ready yet emotionally you don't have to start trying again just because you can start trying again as well. If the negative thoughts are outweighing the desire to try again then listen to yourself and take your time. Having said that, if you are ready to try again, wishing you the best of luck and I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you that you get a sticky bean soon and have a healthy pregnancy.

Thanks zarala. Miracles do happen I guess, but I'm prepared for AF's visit in case there aren't miracles this time round. I've just sat down and made myself a colourful chart of my cycles since starting TTC with when I think I ovulated and when we DTD each month so I can hopefully predict when to jump on OH next cycle. (I'm technologically challenged, I like paper and pen, non of these easy-to-use apps for me!! haha)
Hope you have a nice relaxed cycle without the anxieties of TTC. It's been a lovely break for me this cycle.

weasledee don't worry about getting your hopes up... it's hope that keeps us all going! But if AF does arrive this time, see that mega positive OPK as a sign that you're still wonderfully fertile and trust that it will happen soon even if it doesn't this cycle. Really hope it IS this cycle for you though! Blowing baby dust your way!

Lilimum4 · 27/06/2018 21:09

@TinyPaws hi hun yes in the UK. I got mine from eBay cost £35. So I'm hoping it really works

TinyPaws · 27/06/2018 21:06

@Lilimum4 where did you get progesterone cream from? Are you in the UK?

DaisyMay25 · 27/06/2018 20:55

@Boboelephant like a mocktail? I might try that, half a glass of each

Boboelephant · 27/06/2018 20:51

Haha @DaisyMay25 it's only because I hate grapefruit juice! Just trying to drown out the bitter taste!!

Newbie21 · 27/06/2018 20:48

Let's hope this is a record breaking month for the group!!!

Newbie21 · 27/06/2018 20:46

@weasledee that was definitely a strong line and can only mean good things. Fx this is your month. We're all routing for you!

Lilimum4 · 27/06/2018 20:39

@weasledee I understand how you feel I'm 2dpo and feel really hopeful this cycle. Think I might actually loose it if it doesn't happen this cycle. I've done everything I can think of even pineapple and progesterone cream.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone and sending baby dust by the heapfuls to all the ladies here

weasledee · 27/06/2018 20:30

Lovely words newbie, so true....

So I'm now 1DPO I have to admit with that really strong line on OPK I've got my hopes up, I know it's not related probably but I can't help it :(
Anyway here's to a quick TWW :)

zarala · 27/06/2018 20:28

@Newbie21 love your post- feel exactly the same. 💕

DaisyMay25 · 27/06/2018 20:22

@Boboelephant interesting that flax seed and linseed are the same thing, took me a little while to realise. I see, I might do that eat then with yoghurt each morning then. I was going to start grapefruit tomorrow on CD5 a week before I ovulate? Apple juice too? What's that for? I love Apple juice!

Lilimum4 · 27/06/2018 20:19

Evening ladies. We have lovely hot weather, I've been enjoying it with DH.

I'm currently 2dpo. Having to wait one more day to confirm ovulation, chart looks good temp went from 35.95 c on Monday (ovulation day with ewcm, positive opk and ovulation pain ) then 36.30 c Tues and 36.63 c today. Only thing that's odd is I still have cramps like AF cramps and lots of creamy cm, I don't usually get the cramps or any cm after ovulation. Guess I'll just have to sit on my hands for 10 more days.

Boboelephant · 27/06/2018 20:06

@Newbie21 I can totally relate to everything you said too. I hope we're all not here much longer.

@DaisyMay25 not a stupid question! I asked the same one. You are supposed to buy organic whole seeds and then grind them. I whizz mine in my smoothie maker or you can use a coffee grinder. You can also use a mortar and pestle but that takes a longer! You can sprinkle them on cereal or in smoothies or soups. I just put them in juice and drink them down. At the moment i have them in my grapefruit and apple juice. Two birds!

zarala · 27/06/2018 20:00

@Blondcat and @GPS76
bring on sexy week for you guys !!! 🙌🏽

@Laney79 hope that witch has eased up on you! Sounds unnecessarily heavy!

@Cakelaur wow 15weeks already??? That's amazing! It's gone so fast! So happy things are going so well!
AF is definitely here for me so I'm out until August. I'm really hoping it happens for me in August as it will be exactly 1 year from my first MC- which started at Notting Hill carnival on bank holiday Monday. If I can get a BFP before then I will be really happy 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

@Lilimum4 good luck! Hope these next 10 days fly by for you and you have good news at the end of it!

@CobaltRose wow congrats!!! What a strong line for 9dpo!!! Amazing!! Fx for a healthy happy easy pregnancy!!!

@YellowDaffodils86 yeah that makes sense. Our bodies need time to find their rhythm!

@TinyPaws eugh that sucks. When I was pregnant with my DD I was having a right old moan at my friend who was also pregnant- or so I thought! Turned out she had had to terminate the pregnancy earlier that week (22weeks) after finding out it had a serious genetic disorder which would have meant that it wouldn't have survived outside the womb. I was so so mortified and felt so guilty! (I'm not usually a moaner!) it was so awful. But generally it's not right to moan about it unless it's with someone in the same boat- that's my philosophy anyway...

@KnitKitty fx af stays away!!!

@Boboelephant cranberry juice during AF? Interesting! I will look into that
And yay ewcm! JKS away bobo!!! Have fun and good luck!!!
And Oooh seed cycling sounds very interesting!! Will def check that out!

Nothing to report here - AF is here in full flow. I'm going away without OH to see my parents during the next FW (sexy week) so next month is out- but tbh it's probably better as I can have some nice wines and enjoy the holiday without having to think about TTC (or try not to)

DaisyMay25 · 27/06/2018 19:29

@Boboelephant very interesting about the seeds, might give them a go next month. Just wondered how you eat them? I know how ridiculous that sounds but do you literally just eat them or put them on things?

TedLife · 27/06/2018 19:10

@Newbie21 your post made me have a little cry. You summed up everything so well. It's a horrible, cruel twist of fate that finds us all here together xx

Newbie21 · 27/06/2018 18:51

I'm on cd 5 - at the end of AF... super anxious as this will be my second proper cycle since MC and my gynaecologist had told us to wait until this cycle to start TTC. Whilst I should be pleased that now we can start trying again properly and that means I'm closer to being pregnant etc but I'm actually terrified that I can't or that I do and it happens again. I had an MMC... had no idea that my little bean's heart had stopped, had all the same symptoms as with my first (successful) pregnancy. I don't want it to happen again :-(. I know many of you have experienced it a number of times and some do not have a little one already to be grateful for, and believe me, I know I am luckier than so many people. I'm just scared and don't want this to put unnecessary pressure on me, my body or my DH who has been amazing throughout.

I need to be positive but accepting that it might take time but that is OK.

I'm grateful for this group. The knowledge that others are experiencing this makes me sad but still comforted that I'm not alone and we will all have our time when we see that line and it stays there until that bump appears and then fast forward until a little bundle turns up Smile fx for everyone!

Boboelephant · 27/06/2018 18:24

Oh I was also thinking something. At the start of the year I was wondering if I could shorten my cycles as they were about 35 days. A lady on here recommended seed cycling which I did and shortened cycles to 29-30 days. I stopped the last 2 months but started again the other day. I thought it might be helpful for some of you that are having irregular or long cycles as it is about balancing your hormones. And if nothing else seeds are really good for you and your ttc health!!!
