🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧

A thread for all those who have suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately know as the penguin huddle.

We'll start with a roll call as there have been so many new members lately and so many success stories that I think we've all lost track.

Got super stretchy cm today but negative ovulation test. I'm not sure if I drank too much or what? I never got a positive ovulation test when we conceived last time? But the stretchy cm makes me think now's the time! This is how I knew last time. We out today having a picnic and going on a row boat. Dh is making home made quiche etc. So sweet. We are both out tonight. So need to fit in some baby dancing time before we go out lol.

Pearcrumble · 09/06/2018 11:19

@boboelephant thank you very much - yes everybody here was very welcoming and supportive, it was definitely an anxiety in my own head rather than anything anyone else said!

littleemma1 · 09/06/2018 11:14

@Pearcrumble I felt like you, I only knew for 3 days and if I hadn’t done a test I would’ve thought it was just a heavy AF!

littleemma1 · 09/06/2018 11:13

@Yukka the most infuriating thing with PCOS is that I can have all the signs of OV but an egg may not be released for months as it has to fight its way through my “follicles” 😔 so I can OV on time, a little late or really late... nothing is a cert with my cycles! In February this year I had my first period for 5 months. It was rank. And only came because I induced it with nortiserone!
I think I’d rather get my period over and done with and if my body does what it’s meant to as a normal cycle then FW will fall right on honeymoon 😬😬😬 there’ll be lots of disco dancing 💃🕺🏻😂

Boboelephant · 09/06/2018 11:08

@MisBit1 glad your af arrived and you can hopefully get your body back to normal cycles again. Your post did make me laugh. Wind at work is the worst! 😨😂 Glad that your head is being helpful but I swear payroll make things difficult on purpose!
@Anyday88 so sorry you're feeling down. Bfns totally mess with my head which is why I'd love to just wait until after af. But then stupid hope kicks in. Hope you have some nice things planned for today in the sun!
@Pearcrumble I'm sorry you felt like that. You have every right to be upset. A loss is a loss and it's a deeply traumatic thing regardless of how far along you are or how it happens. I hope we can provide you with support and I hope you never feel that you dont belong here.

MC - May 2018 (on my birthday, hooray!)I expected to be 6+4 based on when I stopped the pill and thought I ovulated, but couldn't date it properly due to no period before. I think it was probably less, my HCG dropped so quickly.

Briefly hopped on here last month then went quiet. I was feeling like I was just overreacting, because my miscarriage was so early I thought I didn't have the right to be so upset. Kept lurking though and seeing the new roll call, with others who have had miscarriages at 5/6 weeks, made me think it's ok to stay on here.

Anyday88 · 09/06/2018 10:10

@hayleyfx I have everything crossed for your scan next week!
@Boboelephant I can’t wait for an update from you!
@Pampl3mOusse yes it looks like we will be let’s hope July is our month!!

Thanks for the love everyone, finding it really hard not to feel down and INCREDIBLY disappointed today which I know is silly because a) Af hasn’t actually arrived yet and b) it’s only really 1st cycle since mc but I can’t help it!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.

Bit late to the roll call but checking in.

Cycle 1 post MC CD2 -AF finally showed up yesterday after gifting me the worst bloating and wind ever right when I was in a staff meeting! 😳

@Pampl3m0usse I work in a school too. Your head is really acting out. By law you can’t take action for any sickness relating to pregnancy including MC. Stand firm and do not let it be recorded as anything else.

My head has been lovely but yesterday payroll called because there is a break in my sicknote. The hospital one lasts until a Friday, then the doctors one starts on a Monday and they are saying those (non-working) days in between need to be covered. The head was outraged when I spoke to her about it and had said if they call again she’ll tell them to get over themselves and deal with it. She agreed there was no point in wasting a GPs time and that they could log it as two periods of sickness if necessary. So lucky to have her onside.

Boboelephant · 09/06/2018 09:53

@Pancakes7 yep I buy them in packs of 50! 😂
@Yukka hope the spotting turns into something clear soon. The 'everything is normal is annoying!!
@hayleyfx ooh hope next week comes quickly for your scan! And for me too actually! Haha I hope so! I think I've done literally everything I can. Just finished some fertility yoga and I'm going to acupuncture on Tuesday at 8dpo to hopefully make sure an eggie implants! I know I have to accept that it can take me longer due to my missing fallopian tube but I think it's time now!! 🤞🤞

MrsGS76 · 09/06/2018 09:51

@Pampl3m0usse still holding out for a BFP for you, fx. Xxx
@KeefBurtain think we are TTC buddies, I got a static smiley face on digital OPK this mornings which means peak time for ovulation, I am CD13 today and have BD on CD9, CD10, CD12. The only thing I will be confused about is when to start DPO? The OPK test days I'm ovulating in next 48 hours so I guess I'll class Monday as 1dpo? Fx for you this month xx
@Anyday88 so sorry you're out! Sending virtual hugs! What test did d you use ?
@weasledee , so did your cramps amount to AF? Seems like there is slot of oldies on here TTC , I'm 42 and still feel young!!! Fx for you xx
@KnitKitty glad you are your old self again, time is definitely a healer , I've been feeling more positive over the lady week too xx fx for you x
To all that are struggling to get their DH on board, I know how you feel, I've had to 'beg' him to have our last 2 DC, he thinks about the practical elements like childcare etc but once they were born he fell in love with them straight away and is a fantastic father!! I would always tell him that we would never look at our children and regret having them but I would resent him in years to come for not having another one. He seemed to understand and as a marriage is all about compromise, he agreed. In the same time I looked at how I could compromise with him and be a better wife. Fx for you all xx

Anyone else on CD23? X

hayleyfx · 09/06/2018 09:40

@HidCat I’m alright thanks! 5+5 today, just over a week until scan. Taking it one day at a time, very nervous still but staying as positive as I can 😊 fingers crossed that June is your month🤞

@Boboelephant I’m feeling so excited for you too! 😀 this has got to be your month, seriously! Haha 🤞

Yukka · 09/06/2018 08:50

@littlemma the small tiny miniscule upside to mc under 5w is that you can count the first day of 'bleed' the same as a period. So if that was 23 may, day 20 is Monday 11th, day 30 is thurs 21st so period should arrive 23rd ish June. Well in advance on wedding, hurray!

So I guess your options are to do what you normally do and start taking on Monday OR just do nothing and see what happens if your not completely comfortable putting more hormone in your body.

I read up again on that med and it is a progesterone only pill. I was on desogetral -a slightly newer version of yours- for 10 years and if taken full time it can stop Lh and OV completely. I had no periods at all whilst on it.

If you are certain you are ov every month before starting it then that should be ok but perhaps you should wait for ov green light this time as there is a small risk taking this could prevent it. Perhaps double check with your gyne again?

I chatted with consultant on 3rd mc re the link between progesterone and mc She agreed there is a link but not enough research yet.But this has been the case for a long time.

It so hard to make decisions after mc because "everything is common" bleeding, not bleeding, quick ov, no ov, symptoms, symptom loss - "yes it is very common mrs x" but Its so important that we keep going back to the experts if we're not feeling certain or comfortable. We all have the right to insist on knowing what's going on with our body's.

Sorry! Rant over!! Currently brown spotting, could be slow arrival of first af and maybe this is pms. Would be pleasantly surprised though as it would be 'on time' . But brown spotting is very common mrs x!

Arrgghhh!

Happy Saturday ladies x

Pancakes7 · 09/06/2018 08:48

Thanks @Boboelephant that makes me feel better. I will keep testing. Think I need to buy more! Lol

Boboelephant · 09/06/2018 08:44

@Pancakes7 if you are using the IC's they can change drastically depending on time of day before they become positive. The photos I can find are not brilliant but to give you an idea. I got quite a dark line here and then the others on the same day are non existant. Fyi I didn't get my positive until about 4 days later, the line just changed darker and lighter until then. When you get a positive it's unmistakable- second pic.

Thanks @Yukka yes I was in December 2018 group...

My ovulation test had a faint line on Thursday. Then I took it yesterday and it was blank? I did take it much later in the day. Is that enough to change the result? Didn't manage to dtd last night ☹ but will try today.

@Lovemysparkle ooh fx it’s a BFP- what a lovely wedding present!

Boboelephant · 09/06/2018 08:24

Haha @Cakelaur thanks! I so hope this is my month!! We could start a 'marathon, pineapple and progesterone' success movement! 😂😂

Cakelaur · 09/06/2018 07:39

@Boboelephant IM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! I'm dying to see what your test says! Im not sure I can't wait until you're 11dpo!!! Haha!!

HidCat · 09/06/2018 07:23

@Lovemysparkle have you tested yet this month or do you have irregular cycles sometimes?

@Lovewinemorethanhusband I know, it's so reassuring how many of us are a bit older. I'm not dieting per se but I am trying to improve my eating habits. Demolished a share bar of chocolate and a bag of popcorn last night due to PMS (honest) but have reduced my bread intake and less snacking. Lost half a stone so far. I'm hoping that by doing it that way I won't need to change anything when I get pregnant.

Hello everyone and welcome to newbies!!

@Jessabean haha! Love the JKS numberplate! 😂
@KeefBurtain yep!!! Go get your DH!
@RedRobin7 if you are not connecting with your counsellor please try and bring it up with her in your session. The biggest predictor by far of therapy being successful is the therapeutic relationship/alliance. Any trained counsellor/therapist should ideally recognise this and be open to working through it. If things don't improve then request a different counsellor. You need to trust your therapist and never feel judged.
@littleemma1 oh that's tough. I would assume that if you had an early natural loss that your cycles would be as they normally are. Although that sounds difficult to predict. Maybe just stick to your plan of checking opks.
@Anyday88 and @Pampl3m0usse sorry for bfns. Hope af stays away.
@HidCat haha I love a good emoji!! 😀👍🐧🌈❤
@Lovemysparkle ooh wedding day soon!!!! I cant quite remember- did you hold off this month with ttc?
@L1zz13 I hope you get your number 4 if that's what you want. If you decide not to, enjoy your sailing! ❤
5dpo here. Convinced I'm having all sorts of lower belly twinges although know it's too early for it to be anything. Ahh fast forward one week please!!

Pampl3m0usse

Read through everyone, glad it's not just me that's in late 30's
I'm 3dpo but not feeling very positive that this is our month.
Anyone also dieting whilst TTC I'm on slimfast and doing well on it but am concerned all the vitamin A in it, would stop as soon as positive test but it still worries me doctor has said it's fine to use until then

@Pampl3m0usse I'm so sorry Hun. Bosses can be arseholes all too often. Straight to the middle of the huddle with you. 🐧🐧

@Jessabean sounds like a good opportunity to take some time for yourself and relax.

@KeefBurtain I never got a positive opk as my surge was so quick but if the darkening is around where you expect to ovulate then take it as ovulation.

@littleemma1 Exciting times!

@hayleyfx how are you?

@Anyday88 holding on to the little glimmer of hope for you Hun.

Seeing the roll call just shows me how many amazing people we have on this thread (nearly 30!). We've all been through so much and yet we're still hopeful for the future. I love this crazy group of penguins! Bring us our rainbows please oh lucky thread 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
