A thread for all those who have suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately know as the penguin huddle.

We'll start with a roll call as there have been so many new members lately and so many success stories that I think we've all lost track.

@Knitkitty I haven’t got any real methods, just keeping super busy at work and trying to eat healthy and lose some weight, I’m also forcing myself to the gym atleast 3 times a week! I’m trying to use this time before my next pregnancy to prepare myself a little better as it happened much quicker than we expected last time.
We’re getting a lot of jobs done round the house, having some weekends away and planning a nice holiday too.
I’m just trying to stay as calm and positive as possible. My DP is a few years younger than me and very calm about it, he’d quite like us to fall pregnant again after the summer. I however am a lot more worried about things going wrong and time being against me, especially with my only 2 pregnancies ending in miscarriage. I know i’m going to be checking my ovulation like a crazy woman!!
You’re TTC number 1 too aren’t you? How’s your other half with it all!??

Boboelephant · 10/06/2018 17:29

Haha @DaisyMay25 jinx!!!

Boboelephant · 10/06/2018 17:28

@KnitKitty haha you're right. Doesn't feel quick for me! 😂 I'm trying to do yoga as much as possible and also doing headspace. Also trying to just focus on breathing and good thoughts when I can. Work for the next 3 days which helps as I'm always crazy busy- downside of doing a fulltime job in 3 days! I went to a baby shower today which was bittersweet. I'm thrilled for my friend but she is due 5 days before I should have been and another girl there due 2 days later. Tough seeing them both 8 months pregnant and me not pregnant yet. Ah well. I'm trying to remain positive that it will happen and there is a reason for this.
@clairehr tentative congratulations and I hope this is a sticky bean for you.
@Laney79 when you get a positive IC ovulation is 12-48 hours later. So likely it will be tomorrow. Try and jks if you can tonight, but tomorrow should be good too. Both if possible!!!

DaisyMay25 · 10/06/2018 17:26

@Laney79 I can't even imagine having to stick to opk schedule on holiday! Positive today means you'll probably ovulate tomorrow if you can try dtd tonight and tomorrow (night after too if you can) just to cover everything!

Laney79 · 10/06/2018 17:08

Ok-opk gurus I need your advice!

On hols in Greece, And it's 30+ degrees so trying not to drink too much/hold your wee is hard for opks.

I've got CB digital opks, and IC's. I e been doing CB ones with fmu as otherwise I'd struggle not to pee for 4 hours!

The CB one this morn was negative, but my ic this afternoon was a clear positive...so does that mean I'm ovulating now? Or will it be tomorrow? Best time to jump on my fella? We did DTD yesterday afternoon - but I'm guessing now I have a positive then we need to again to maximise chances? Will tomorrow be too late?

Thanks lovelies!

clairehr · 10/06/2018 17:02

Jumping on board just to try and maintain some sanity.

I have had 1 MC, 2 Chemicals in the last 13 months, and got my BFP on Thursday at 12DPO.

Still super early days obviously, got doctors appointment a week tomorrow (furious that they wouldn't see me earlier, but hey ho), but absolutely terrified right now as symptoms I had have all disappeared like the last few times. Still getting lines on tests, but not got darker yet.

Cleozeta · 10/06/2018 16:38

Pample I am having cramps too at 10dpo before 1st af. I have heard 1st af can be heavier and more painful.
Will you do another test tomorrow? Hopefully your test today was not an evap. I'm tempted to test too, although I'm not convinced I'll see what I want to see

KnitKitty · 10/06/2018 16:22

Boboelephant to me your TTW seems to be going really fast but I bet it feels like forever to you!!! What are you doing to help the time go by? Meditation is helping me tremendously too. I feel so much calmer this cycle than last. And yes, it is good to get to know your body and cycle. I'm trying to see this TTC time as a blessing to be able to have a better understanding of my body. I stopped taking the pill in December and had a period about 30 days afterwards (I think I did ovulate that month but with Christmas and other family celebrations going on we didn't really JKS) and somehow in January I got pregnant straight away. At the time I was fully expecting it to take a long few months or never to happen what with having the endometriosis, womb abnormality and one ovary so I was just in utter shock when it happened, but it meant I never got to know my cycles properly so I'm focusing my attention on getting to know my body better again now.

Murderino I have a sewing machine too. My dad got it for me for my birthday a couple of years ago and I've been too afraid to use it. While going through my MMC it was a brilliant distraction and helped me focus on something positive to do. I've not done much with it since, but I'd like to. I do a lot of knitting and crochet too.

Maydot Hi cycle buddy! Not sure how long Hidcat's cycles are but she may be around the same time as us too? It's easier said than done, isn't it, trying not to stress too much? Do you have any methods to stay chill?

Pampl3m0usse Have you had a negative since your MC? Could it be residual HCG from then? I guess you'll be testing again in a few days time to see if the line has got darker? Please keep us updated. I don't really get period cramps much these days but I did get cramping when I was pregnant... Fingers firmly crossed for you!

Pampl3m0usse · 10/06/2018 15:59

@Anyday88 I feel exactly the same. I reckon I'm 10 or 11dpo and got the faintest line in a clearblue early test this morning but I'm convinced it was an evap.
had sore boobs for days which I've only ever had as a pregnancy symptom but this is my first cycle after stopping breastfeeding. also in excruciating pain cramp wise, enough to rival the day I miscarried which is worrying me. is this normal first af after miscarriage? sorry it'selike 100 questions xx

Pancakes7 · 10/06/2018 14:54

@Murderino Good idea to keep busy. You can start planning your decor. Get paint/ wallpaper and carpet samples? We are starting to do up our house the end of June. Excited to start that, it'll keep me busy and something else to think about. Been saving up to do it. We have been doing our front garden the last few weekends which is also a good distraction.

Anyday88 · 10/06/2018 14:14

Thanks @boboelephant the more the day goes on I am convinced af is going to appear!

Maydot · 10/06/2018 13:56

@KnitKitty I’m also due to ovulate some time around the 18th. Think i’m going to do opks and jks!!!..... but trying not to stress about it too much. 😝

Pancakes7 · 10/06/2018 13:46

3 not e...

Pancakes7 · 10/06/2018 13:46

I've just had alot of cm very egg white like. We dtd this morning and e times this week. I hope it's enough.

Murderino · 10/06/2018 12:20

@Funkyemzie thanks - I've just moved house so got a lot of rooms to make my own although no real budget as we need new windows.

Maybe I'll sand all the skirting 😒

I have just acquired a sewing machine so I'm going to challenge myself to learn how to use it (it's been a while) and make myself something 😁

I also write a blog so will try and keep that active one way or another everyday - here we go!

Boboelephant · 10/06/2018 11:54

@KeefBurtain quite a few of us had a pretty regular 1st af and then the second cycle was out. Hopefully your body sorts itself out soon.
@Murderino haha! I'm a bit the opposite this month. I have been tracking symptoms for ages and since MC every cycle I have nausea, backache, incredibly sore boobs, fatigue etc. This month I'm great! Basically nothing at all except some stomach twinges. So of course am wildly excited that this means this is my month! 🤦‍♀️ fx for you for implantation! And I love the tww goal idea!!!
@YellowDaffodils86 6dpo today. Willing the week to go faster!!!
@Anyday88 ooh hopefully you have a late implanter!!
@Funkyemzie I'll keep everything crossed for you. I'm hoping that lack of symptoms is a good thing!! So many people get their bfps and say oh I had no symptoms. I'm ok. Done all I can this month and doing lots of yoga and meditation to calm my mind so now I can only hope.
@KnitKitty sounds like a good idea. I find it much more helpful to know my cycles!
@cleozeta fingers crossed af stays away.

Cleozeta · 10/06/2018 11:33

10dpo today and resisting early testing. I don't have massively high hopes this time as have not had 1st af from mc yet. No symptoms but af cramping started yesterday so I hope LP is not too short. 2ww still doesn't fail to drive me nuts.

KnitKitty · 10/06/2018 11:27

Morning all,

A lot of you seem to be in your TTW or around ovulation, so good luck to you all!!

I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for FW to start. I don't do OPKs or temping so I've just narrowed down ovulation to being between the 16th and 21st so thinking FW will be between 13th and 22nd but trying not to obsess this month and I don't really feel like it is my month so managing to feel quite chill right now. OH doesn't have the highest sex drive so will aim to JKS every 2 or 3 days but this might not pan out. Just leaving it in the hands of fate.

At the moment I'm trying to focus on understanding my cycles rather than TTC, so I'm keeping an eye on CM and planning to chart when AF is for the next few months so I get a better idea of when I ovulate. I feel like getting to know my body this way is a helpful focus for me so I don't get too obsessive about symptom spotting and feeling upset if OH isn't in the mood when I want him to be. This is a new technique I'm trying, so will let you know if I'm still managing to stay chill throughout the rest of my cycle. very much doubt it

Funkyemzie · 10/06/2018 10:54

@Boboelephant probs won't test now for another couple of days, af due either today or tomorrow but no symptoms except tender nips as of yet but that's not unusual, I don't tend to get anything except a little bit of nausea until af is imminent or actually here so not concerned. Had a massive temp drop this morning, not below cover line but more than .02 degrees.

How r u getting on?

@littlemma1 how lovely, I would love to be planning for a wedding rather than moving house, we complete next Friday so if I'm out this month I won't be upset cuz of all the lifting and carrying. Me and OH have been together for 14 years now so gone past the point of waiting for that special ring! 😂

@Murderino thats a great idea about setting goals...what sort of things were you thinking? Xxx

Anyday88 · 10/06/2018 10:33

Morning everyone! How are you all today?

Where are you all in your Cycles?

I have had pink tinged cm this morning so really confused as I never normally get spotting before Af it just normally turns up in full force and when I have been pregnant I haven't had anything so 🤷🏼‍♀️

Happy Sunday everyone 😊

Murderino · 10/06/2018 10:32

@sweetpea0318 there really should be a 'practical guide through the tww' things to keep us busy and distracted.

Might set myself some goals and start them at the beginning of each tww. Def have a lot of decorating to do...

Hopefully this is my last tww and nothing actually gets done 😁

Pancakes7 · 10/06/2018 10:21

Dh is hungover but managed to dtd and he's now napping lol. Fx we will be lucky!

YellowDaffodils86 · 10/06/2018 10:18

@RedRobin7🙋🏼‍♀️im due af 20th. Looks like we are at the same point in cycle. Good luck!
@Boboelephant you must be 3/4 days ahead of me.

sweetpea0318 · 10/06/2018 10:17

Aaah 2WW driving me loopy! Sore boobs for several days now & cant stop thinking ‘what if’ even though I know it’s unlikely to happen this month. 9dpo and counting... 😳

YellowDaffodils86 · 10/06/2018 10:09

@hayleyfx good luck next week for scan.

@Pearcrumble ah sorry you felt that way, but you are not over reacting. Your loss was the same time as mine 6+4. As soon as that positive occurs, plans and ideas and hopes are made, so when they are ripped away, that's hard.
I do feel for those that have had later losses though, mine was hard enough.

@Pancakes7 your day sounded lovely, how was the quiche? Did you manage some
Bd?

@littleemma1 I agree with @Boboelephant And @DaisyMay25
I missed my positive this month, i only tested every 24hrs, had almost positive then had a negative. So assumed my positive would have been in between.
If you did ov when we suspect, we are only a day apart.
You should expect af/bfp in 2 weeks.
@Boboelephant Is right yesterday would be 1dpo.

@UnicornsandRainbows1 Sorry about your fall, glad things are ok.

@L1zz13 Im sorry, hope you are ok, iv followed last few days without managing to
Post, but seen what you have been going through.

@Lovewinemorethanhusband "Fanny daggers" 😂

@Boboelephant Super massive big crossed fingers this is your month!!!!! What dpo are you?
