A thread for all those who have suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately know as the penguin huddle.

We'll start with a roll call as there have been so many new members lately and so many success stories that I think we've all lost track.

@Boboelephant af due Monday- I don't test before hand. Just feels like a waste of money. Have a cb digital waiting for the day af is late so next Tuesday hopefully!

YellowDaffodils86 · 12/06/2018 11:20

@Cleozeta my first bfn/af after mc was hard, it was kind of like going through it again, it also felt very final, like concrete evidence you really are not pregnant anymore. Sending hugs.

redhead82 · 12/06/2018 11:18

Thank you @Boboelephant and @KnitKitty 😘.

I returned to work today and my lovely boss advised me to take the rest of the week off as I cried when I spoke to her. I suppose I'll have these ups and downs for a while!

Good to know I can get straight back to trying though. I know my partner will be relieved lol. I think I'm going to have a couple of months just taking things as they come, and then start tracking if I've not conceived.

Wishing everyone the best of luck!

Cleozeta · 12/06/2018 11:15

Glad you are feeling positive now! I wish I could but by body can't even tolerate alcohol anymore. Another of natures cruel jokes!

Boboelephant · 12/06/2018 11:04

@Murderino glad you're feeling a bit more positive. There are lots of sad moments. When are you testing? When is af due?

Murderino · 12/06/2018 10:56

@Cleozeta I know - I can be a right emo at times!

On the upside this is the most positive I've felt in months was giggling into my tea last night (after being internally radgie at work mind) adds mood swings to phantom symptoms...

Cleozeta · 12/06/2018 10:40

Thank you bobo

Cleozeta · 12/06/2018 10:39

Murderino thats a really sad story, nearly made me cry again! Miscarriage is so flipping cruel.

Boboelephant · 12/06/2018 10:36

@Cleozeta yes I have found them incredibly difficult. I know exactly how you feel. Sending big hugs.
@YellowDaffodils86 I did have that a couple of months ago. Not really sure what it was about but I had it at 7dpo as a one off. Who knows??

YellowDaffodils86 · 12/06/2018 10:23

Morning, so a little confused... tmi
Lots of ewcm this morning at 6dpo/cd23
Anyone else had this?

Murderino · 12/06/2018 10:17

@Cleozeta Not so much a bfn as I haven't tested again since mc. I remember driving myself and DH to work the month after mc, he asked if I was ok and I replied I had awful period cramps and we both cried. No sobbing just quiet tears that we both laughed through- was really sad.

Cleozeta · 12/06/2018 09:48

Has anyone else found a bfn at the end of 2ww so much harder after miscarriage? Just had bfn today on the day 1st af is due after mc. I know when I ovulated so was hopefully waiting. I think I had high hopes I may be one of the lucky ones who gets pregnant again straight away, plus all the talk of high fertillity after mc makes the slap of a bfn so much harder.
I also think as I had been trying for over 12 months with no luck I'd kind of got used to it. Now after getting pregnant, even though I mc I now have the added hope that its possible. I have just found this bfn harder than others,

Boboelephant · 12/06/2018 08:33

@Pampl3m0usse I hope you get some answers at the GP and af stays away! It sounds like your work has been tricky for awhile but do remember that you are entitled to any leave you've had and they cannot discriminate for pregnancy related sickness. MC can definitely mess up cycles and to be fair I think there are no rules. Some ladies on here have missed ovulation or periods entirely and had very short or long cycles. I also had very bad back pain for the few months directly after MC.
@redhead82 welcome and so sorry for your loss. Don't worry if you've been lucky and conceived straight away. Waiting for af is just so they can date pregnancy. As soon as you have a scan they can do that so not a big deal.
@YellowDaffodils86 ah Mr Google..... 🤦‍♀️
@KeefBurtain I think you might just need to wait and see. My cycles took a while to be consistent again. And I still seem to ovulate on a different day each month. Hope they regulate soon.
@Martydog sounds like you are doing everything you can. Try and relax and do something nice to distract yourself! now listen to your own advice bobo
@Blondcat thankyou! Fx for you too!
@Laney79 woohoo welcome to the tww and good job with the jks! Thankyou! If temps stay high I'll test Friday which is 11dpo. If they drop I might wait until after af is due Sunday.
@KnitKitty I think the test is a good idea. It's important to see the negative I think. Hope you can have a little mind break!

KnitKitty · 12/06/2018 07:14

Welcome redhead82, but sorry you find yourself with us.
They usually recommend you wait a cycle so that you can date a new pregnancy more easily, so don't panic.

Well I don't think my unconscious mind is being quite as chill as I am when I'm awake! Had a dream last night that I got a surprise positive pregnancy test and couldn't believe my eyes because I had my period last week. Woke up with back and tummy pain (could I be ovulating super, super early? Also had a lot of CM yesterday), and I've had 4 spots on my forehead since Sunday which I never really get, apart from when I was pregnant; so I have now driven right into the centre of crazy-town and parked there for the day.

I had been planning to do a test to see a negative to give me some peace of mind after the CP and because I haven't physically seen a negative since MC in March (it was the hospital which confirmed with a negative test there but I didn't see it myself). So I might buy a test after work so I can relax again. Sigh.

This all could have popped in to my mind because at work yesterday I had to deal with the gynae who saw me before my ERPC. Very weird experience.

Laney79 · 12/06/2018 07:13

Hey @KeefBurtain - I'm very new to opks but I've noticed the amount you drink/wee before hand really does have a big effect on the result. It's been hard to not drink/pee too much as I'm in Greece on holiday, but the results have been much clearer when I've managed to hold it a while! Could that be why your results changed so quick? I had a very strong positive on ic Sunday arvo and IC and CB digital yesterday morning, but the ic I did yesterday arvo (after a drink and only holding wee for about an hour) had no line at all-but this morning the ic definately had a line, all be it a fading one (so I guess I ov'd yesterday and now into TWW)

Thanks to everyone who advised on ov/opks... We've managed to JKS 6 out of 7 days, including yesterday on what I hope was ovulation day.

@Boboelephant keeping everything crossed for you! When will you test?

@MrsGS76 thanks! Good to know I'm not the only one! My fella laughs at me, saying I'm very randy! Haven't been quite so frisky for years!!

Sorry not to reply to all individually-sending hugs and baby dust to all!

Pancakes7 · 11/06/2018 23:58

@Pample3m0use I seem to have itch roof of my mouth which was what I had before my bfp. So fx this is a sign of another bfp. No cramps or anything. My mmc was only finished just over 2 weeks ago and cm shows I should have ovulated this weekend. So my af should be due in approx 2 weeks. Fx it doesn't come!! I hope you feel better soon.

Pancakes7 · 11/06/2018 23:54

So last time I got my bfp I had an itchy mouth as if I was getting a cold. This lasted about 3 weeks then I got my bfp and it went. No cold. Today the same itchy mouth. I don't want to get my hopes up but I wonder if this is a sign of me being pregnant again?

MrsGS76 · 11/06/2018 22:59

@Pampl3m0usse are you waiting for your first AF after MC? if so, mine took 33 days to come and was one day medium-heavy then three very light days. Fx for you x.

rdm10 · 11/06/2018 22:56

@DaisyMay25 @MrsGS76 @YellowDaffodils86 @RedRobin7
@Boboelephant Thank you all for your positivity. I’ve got aching legs as well which I get with af so pretty sure it’s af but at least I’m a bit calmer now.

@Pampl3m0usse I think the time between ov and af has got shorter for me too since af (although I don’t use opks so I’m not 100% certain when I ov’d)

Blondcat · 11/06/2018 21:58

Evening ladies and welcome newbies sorry you find yourselves here.
I think I am 2/3dpo so will see been flitting between positive thoughts that this is the month for the next bfp and no way this will happen. Trying to keep busy and not over think it.
@boboelephant fx for your bfp this month after your major jks marathon!
@yellowdaffodils fx for a bfp ready for your holiday!

Martydog · 11/06/2018 21:37

I think I’m 2/3 dpo and am taking 5mg folic acid, pregnancy multivitamins, baby aspirin, eating a slice of pineapple everyday for lunch (I kind of like the core!) plus progesterone cream. Last time I did this I got my bfp let’s hope that’s true this time. Oh and also getting lots of vitamin d aka sunbathing. What else can I do? How’s everyone else?

KeefBurtain · 11/06/2018 21:29

@boboelephant possibly. My temp has been steady for the past week but I’m not pinning anything on that really as I’m up and down all night with an 11 month old who can apparently survive on 3 hours sleep a night Sad

We’ve jks every day since the 2nd June so hopefully if I have already ov then there’s been something there to meet it 😂

Something I did notice last cycle was that I got my positive opk on the 16th May and my period on the 27th May, so only 11 days rather than my usual 14. So if I presume my cycle was out of whack and base my next ov on that (16th May + 28 days = 13th June), then I shouldn’t expect a positive for 2 more days. Or doesn’t it work like that?

You wouldn’t think I have a science based degree when I know hardly anything about simple biology 😂

YellowDaffodils86 · 11/06/2018 21:27

@Boboelephant sounds like a plan. I started this month with no opks and that went out the window. So i wonder if my willpower will hold out with poas again! Iv already started spending some time with our mutual friend, mr google 🤦🏽‍♀️

Pampl3m0usse · 11/06/2018 21:22

@Pancakes7 do you have back pain or other abdo. I've got awful back pain which is better if I'm standing or walking and stingy when I went to the loo this morning but still not sure if it's related to my miscarriage a month ago.... I just want to be back to normal!!!!!!

Can anyone help.... still no sign of AF (due tomorrow) apart from cramps (which I'm not even sure are related). I'm fairly sure I know when I ovulated and I usually get AF a fortnight later. Can miscarriage muck up your cycle between ovulation and AF? I'd always thought it just delayed ovulation but now thinking I might be a bit naive....

redhead82 · 11/06/2018 21:19

Hi guys, I'm now joining your club!

Age - 36
TTC #1
1 MC - May 27th 2018 at 8+4. Natural mc, completed in 4 days, with all bleeding gone by 7 days.
TTC since October 17

It's all a bit new to me. Confused about tracking ovulation etc. Been advised by my midwife to wait until I complete a full cycle before trying, although I was on holiday last week and we did have some drunken, unprotected fun Blush. Panicking a bit about that now!
