A thread for all those who have suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately know as the penguin huddle.

We'll start with a roll call as there have been so many new members lately and so many success stories that I think we've all lost track.

Just been catching up on messages since last night.

@Boboelephant I'm so so sorry. This whole process is just so shit & a complete mindf$ck at times. Big hugs 🐧 🐧 Definitely try and treat yourself today somehow. Are you sure that it's your luteal phase which was shorter this time & that ovulation may have happened a couple of days earlier than you thought?

@SerenaOverjoyed I did wonder about your username after reading the book! Absolutely loved it though it was a bit depressing & not necessarily best choice distraction wise I did actually find it really helpful to read. Definitely good for putting life in perspective- could always be worse! And I agree - also have sympathy for Serena Joy!
Looking forward to watching the tv series when I get back now.
Sorry you've been feeling rubbish recently since you're CP. Don't worry about seeming distant on here at all if you're having a hard time. We all understand & I do the same when I'm having a bad spell. Fingers crossed for you getting some answers. Though hopefully you'll get a nice BFP this cycle!

@Pancakes7 so sorry about your works do. I hate it when stuff like that happens it's awful. I've vowed to myself that the next time someone asks me about when I'm planning on having kids I'm going to just be honest and say as soon as I stop miscarrying them! Like it's such a personal question- why is it any of their damn business?! And why should I be obliged to tell these kind of people only any good cheerful news from my reproductive history. If they really want to be that nosy they can hear the whole story & squirm! But then I know it totally depends on the situation & how much you want to potentially upset the person involved. Can completely relate though. Last time it happened at my OH's family wedding & it put a downer on the rest of the night for me. 🐧

@hayleyfx so glad all is going well. Fingers crossed for you for Tuesday that all is perfectly on track. Though I can't wait to get to where you are now at again I remember how awful the first trimester was last time after mc1 & am definitely not looking forward to having to go through it again. Big hugs & here if you need to vent any anxieties over the next few weeks!

HidCat · 15/06/2018 15:27

@Boboelephant I'm gutted for you. Lots of hugs your way. 🐧🐧🐧🐧

Argh I keep clicking on that post button before I've finished typing!

@littleemma1 That's very interesting to know! I changed doctors and this new one doesn't even agree I have PCOS but the tests are all there and I have it in writing from the hospital in 2012! Will make a note of what you said in case we have trouble. What day are you going to test? The cold I thought I was getting this morning has subsided. It's not hayfever so maybe my room just needs a dust! Felt a bit achey like before my period for all of 5 mins. Prob in my head!

RedRobin7 · 15/06/2018 15:11

@Boboelephant AF is a bitch. So sorry she came. It's lovely to see all these messages and I'm sure you agree. Have a nice dinner and a glass of wine (or a bottle!) xx

TedLife · 15/06/2018 14:59

Centre of the huddle for you @Boboelephant xx

Pancakes7 · 15/06/2018 14:52

Thanks @littleemma1 do not feel bad. I am trying too. I just want our baby so much I cannot waste time waiting. Fx we get our babies soon.

DaisyMay25 · 15/06/2018 14:50

@Boboelephant so sorry she showed, I hate her!

Pancakes7 · 15/06/2018 14:48

@Boboelephant I am so sorry your af turned up. Life is so unfair sometimes. Big hugs.

littleemma1 · 15/06/2018 14:48

@Boboelephant sending hugs! Hope youre ok, even though I know youre probably not. Have a glass of wine tonight and enjoy it whilst you can! I always try and turn the negative (literally) into a positive that I can get as drunk as I want without worrying!! (Thats make me sound like an alcoholic doesnt it!? hahaha. funny thing is I only ever have a drink when I get AF/-tive test!!)

@RedRobin7 and @sweetpea0318 I have quite severe PCOS as I wasnt ovulating for over a year, then they put me on 1500mg Metformin and I started taking Vit C, D, Starflower/Primrose Oil, Folic Acid, Vit B complex and Inositol (I rattle when I walk!!) and I got my BFP in just over 3 months! Unfortunately it wasnt a sticky bean and I joined you lovely ladies :) but has given me so much hope as they had told me in Feb it was unlikely we would conceive without help!!

@YellowDaffodils86 I had the same angry thought this morning, how can some women do it so easily and without even trying/thinking?!

@Pancakes7 I hope youre OK. Its hard some days. I find the more good days I have then the worse I find a hard day. Its been 3w+2d since my MC started and 2w+5d since the bleeding stopped.

In some ways I feel terrible for trying again so soon but then I think I want this so bad and I am not willing to waste time waiting around.

I am now around 7/8dpo and frantically looking for signs. Last time (before I even knew, this is from thinking back!) I was incredibly thirsty but then peeing a lot, had weird AF but not AF like cramps (hard to explain!) and could not get drunk!! (It was my hen do and I was trying to get drunk but just couldnt!! Just to reiterate I didnt know at that point lol). Then around 5 days BFP and 6/7days before AF was due my boobs starting REALLY hurting. Like taking my bra off was agony.

So now I am frantically symptom spotting again. So far I only have shooting pains in boobs every so often (not frequent though) but cramps already like AF and a sore back. Sore back is common for me though as I sit at a desk from 7-7 for work so that would probably explain that. I am starting to feel tired but that could be down to having just done 9 out of 12 days at work and all of those were 12 hour shifts with an hour travel each side... no wonder I am tired!!

Hope everyone else is well/coping and sorry to those I have missed off xxx

Pancakes7 · 15/06/2018 14:47

@Redrobin @Knitkitty thanks for your messages. I'm in a car on our way back. Will be so glad to get home. @Redrobin I hope your cold is a sign. I got itchy mouth as if getting a cold last time I got bfp. I seem to have it again so I am hoping this is a sign for me too. Fx for us all.

sweetpea0318 · 15/06/2018 14:45

@boboelephant ❤️

SerenaOverjoyed · 15/06/2018 14:43

Boboelephant I'm so sorry. AF is a fucking bitch. X

Cakelaur · 15/06/2018 14:29

@Boboelephant massive hugs babe. No words! Xx

Boboelephant · 15/06/2018 14:01

Thanks to all of you for your support and kindness. Turns out I didn't have to wait for long as AF just bloody showed up. Two days early. FFS. Now I'm worried about what having a 10 day LP means on top of everything else. Ahhh I might need a break from thinking about all this. Good luck to the rest of you still in the tww.

RedRobin7 · 15/06/2018 12:46

@TedLife I read on here once to drink until it's pink and I think that's the way to do it if you're not going to get wasted. My DH and I shared a bottle of wine last weekend but not had a drink since.

If you're close to that friend then you could just tell her but I find having too many friends knowing puts more pressure on you! Mine start texting me asking if I've tested yet but I'd rather they didn't as it's up to me to tell them what I want when I want!

PassTheAfterEights · 15/06/2018 12:05

@boboelephant love, logged on to see how you were & glad you went with your instinct but equally gutted for you; just hope you're feeling smothered with support whatever the next few days bring. Sending all love xx

Hugest squishes and thanks to all for lovely words and advice, I promise I will follow it and make an appt soon. Feel very ambivalent about how far we pursue the intervention route before considering alternatives but might as well make a start. Feels very grim to be formally acknowledging we're struggling. Still in limbo at PIL's waiting for maybe house move & huge change in location so might hold off until I can get registered in a new area.

You ladies are the bomb, thank you again x x hope everyone has a good weekend shaping up & will have a proper catch up on everything asap x

TedLife · 15/06/2018 11:46

@SerenaOverjoyed LOVE The Handmaid's Tale but with moving house I've got a bunch of the second season still to catch up on. The book is brilliant though, so heartbreaking and moving. Despite it not being so cheery, hopefully you'll enjoy it anyway @Jessabean!

I'm about to start my TWW - what are everyone's opinions of drinking during it? I'm not talking about a huge night out but the odd glass of wine? I have a friend visiting and in two minds as to whether I just tell her we're trying or try to conceal it...

SerenaOverjoyed · 15/06/2018 11:40

It does! I feel quite empathetic towards horrible Serena Joy.. Hmm

YellowDaffodils86 · 15/06/2018 11:38

@SerenaOverjoyed does your username really come from handmaids tale? Love the show, haven't read the book yet.

YellowDaffodils86 · 15/06/2018 11:36

@Spooples that was obviously meant to say loss. X

YellowDaffodils86 · 15/06/2018 11:35

@Spooples sorry for your poss.

@KnitKitty its good you are finding it peaceful. Cant wait for tww to be over ethier way. Really does feel like you go round in circles.

@RedRobin7 pregnant ladies and babies do seem to be everywhere. I do feel feel like iv been 9dpo for a week!!
A cold sounds promising, however like you say could be other reasons. So frustrating.
I dont feel too bad today, just waiting it out. There are a few symptoms lingering about bit at the same time i wonder if they are really there. I imagine just hormones.
If its a bfn this month, at least i can drink cocktails on holiday!!🍹

@Boboelephant You never know one way or the other, until af shows you wont truly know the outcome. Its frustrating and shit but we are all here whichever way it swings.

I constantly wonder how the hell do so many women end up pregnant after a one night drunken stand go knows where!
Especially as Others do all the different planning and added extras and yet can still take months! 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️

SerenaOverjoyed · 15/06/2018 11:33

Hi all, I've been lurking.. I've felt a bit sulky since my CP. Sorry I'm not replying to everyone, but welcome to the new ladies and sorry for your losses. It's a lovely group.

Two week waiters good luck! I feel like the thread is due a glut of sticky bfps.

Boboelephant So sorry your temp is misbehaving, that must feel so gutting. I think like lots of people I felt so sure this was your month after your marathon. What a shit game this can be, it's really unfair x

KnitKitty hooray for HeadSpace. Totally emphasise with dh sabotaging! Enjoy your month off.

Jessabean lol at packing The Handmaid's Tale! I actually love it (might have guessed from my username!) and find it very cathartic on a bad bfp obsessed day, but woah - massive trigger warning, especially the TV series. Dunno if I'd read it on the beach!! Grin Enjoy your holiday x

I saw my GP today and I've been referred to the recurrent mc clinic. Apt in around 2 months. We're not trying this month but might try next month, currently undecided. I'm only 28 and have time, but I'm starting to think with 4 mcs in 5 cycles I might be hyperfertile with jiffy eggs. It sounds awful but I'm trying to accept this as reality to soften the blow.

sweetpea0318 · 15/06/2018 11:26

@boboelephant no testing needed as spotting.. on to the next month!

sweetpea0318 · 15/06/2018 11:22

Thanks ladies. Just got back - not sure I t was worth the stress though. Ive had a blood test to confirm whether or not I have pcos but even if I do, there's nothing they can do while I'm ttc! But at least I'll know I guess. He didn't seem concerned though as I get regular periods and have got preg twice. I asked about whether I should be taking extra supplements or doing anything but he said no. I wasn't expecting a miracle though so not that surprised how it all went - I just wanted to know that I've explored every avenue and asked all the questions I can.

TedLife · 15/06/2018 10:51

@Boboelephant I thought of you when I woke up this morning. Like others have said, I hope you don't feel undue pressure from the group, we're all in this together and we just want everyone to get their happy bfp but you don't owe anyone anything. Test when you feel ready and we'll be here whatever the outcome.

@sweetpea0318 good luck today, I hope it hasn't been too upsetting for you x
