CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Owlpatrol It's not a choice Sad if I knew when my fertile week was I'd do the exact same but I just have no idea. My cycles are ridiculous!

I don't know how you've managed that for so long @maddiie - no wonder it's taking its toll.

I got a BFN this morning and the awful cramps went away as soon as I had a poo Blush! Oh well. Still 5 days to FP.

@BGDino DH just doesn't want it anymore, he's taken on a more stressful role at work and is too tired all the time. Him not wanting it makes me not want it and I'm struggling to get in the mood these days anyway.. it's just becoming such a chore. No way would I persuade DH to do it himself and use a funnel and how depressing is it that I find that idea far more appealing than sex right now Blush Just feels impossible.

@maddiie I’ll be honest about half of the time I wasn’t in the mood (sex drive is super low anyway cos of all the antidepressants) but did it anyway. One night the pressure got to DH and we resorted to him going solo then using a funnel to get it into me (I’m not joking). Totally get where you’re coming from and how you feel!

All romance is officially gone here.. trying so hard to have sex every other day for this long is draining. Dh doesn't even want it anymore and I'm basically having to nag him for sex. He couldn't finish this morning after like a 40 minute session of me trying to force myself to want it just to try and get pg and I was so annoyed at all the wasted effort. Why is ttc so shit? It's ruined sex!

I have awful cramps this morning. Different from period cramps - sharper and sorer. Think I'm going to break my not testing rule to see if I can take ibuprofen or not!

If it is IB, I don't think it would show on test for a couple of days? I think our bodies only start producing preg hormones after implantation and they aren't high enough to detect for a few days. But I know how frustrating false hope can be - sorry!

Argh so I got up this morning after a really bad sleep, took an ic test and it was negative. Then when I was wiping I had red blood! I'm only 10dpo and I've looked back on ovia and the last time I had spotting was 12dpo and brown. Now I know you might be thinking oh here's another is it implantation question, but honestly even after 2 years ttc my body keeps on surprising me! I'm actually more annoyed that test was BFN because from what I've read if it was indeed ib I should get a positive test. Anyway I'm going to test again tomorrow unless this is af early!

3 month waiting list for sperm test @maddiie ? That's a bummer! Didn't realise how lucky we were that it gets done quick in our area (although they often lose results - grrr).

I'm suddenly at 9dpo again - don't know where this month has gone but am sure the next 5 days will take forever. Can't get my hopes up anymore, just focussing on next fertility appt in Oct where we'll hopefully be referred for IVF.

Hi girls nothing to report, I had to let in a workman today and needed a wee so forgot to test! I randomly told this to dp then he got excited about me testing tomorrow, so I said it'll be negative so don't worry I won't tell you lol

Booked in DH sperm test yesterday, 3 month waiting list so back in limbo until then as they don't want to start any treatment until his results are back. Broached the subject of perhaps paying for it privately and he wasn't happy about that so just got to sit tight. On day 50 something of this cycle so just want AF to come so I know for definite it's not happened again and can start fresh, we've dtd every other day for about two weeks without fail and going to try and keep that up until his tests and see if we can get it to happen naturally. Really want to invest in the clear blue ovulation kit but it'll be so expensive with my cycles as I have no idea what's going on and when Sad

@Pinkemi no IVF, I did ovulation induction with letrozole, plan was that we’d go to IVF if after 4 goes with the letrozole we hadn’t had any luck.

@Pinkemi @LexieJean @owlpatrol afraid I can’t be any help on the boss front as I’ve had nothing but support and care from mine... hoping there isn’t any awkwardness or trouble this fertility thing is hard enough as it is!

@BGDino sending positive vibes, all sounds good to me for you and sending lots of baby dust to you and @Pinkemi for this next stage on your journey. I found it easier to tell my boss though I think she is treating me different now....

Planning on testing tomorrow I literally can't wait any longer I've been emotional all week, I feel like hormones are coming down and I want to drink at the weekend.

Been cleaning the house like a mad woman and I've been loving it! Also been hungry. I'll keep you posted, I know it'll be negative but I'm excited to see the result anyway as I know we gave it the best shot this month. And if it's not this month I am onto private ivf clinic researching x

Hey @pink happy that your boss was cool with your explanation- that’s what I’m going to go with too. Not sure if I need a doctors note.
I’ve heard mixed things about egg transfer and if you’re in any pain but I think that day is supposed to be better than egg collection. There’s loads of ivf specific chats on here so maybe get some advice then decide about telling the bride?

@dino I’ve resorted to texting ‘enjoy a drink after footie but then it’s showtime’. Ahh the romance! Last chance tonight this fw then the window will be gone. Argument on hold! 😂

@BGDino... you didnt get pregnant via IVF though did you? (I can't remember sorry..)

So today I spoke to my manager about possibly needing the time off for scans and a "day surgery" appointment. Im hoping that I can get the 8am slots so it wont cause any issues, but anyway I told her that I was having "womens issues which i didn't really want to talk about. It's not life threatening and ill try and not mess work around as much as possible." She went oh okay and left it at that. PHEW! Thats one weight lifted off my shoulders.

The only other issue I have is.. egg transfer may fall on the day that I am being a bridesmaid.... Confused This is only if they do these appointments on a Saturday.. and if my FP arrives on time.

Gah.. nothing is EVER easy is it!

My DH thinks that I should warn the bride that I may have to pop out that morning for a "hospital" appointment but I just don't really wanna tell her. We aren't telling anyone else so it feels a bit.. weird to tell her.
I was going to wait and see how things turn out... as a lot of it depends on FP's arrival and how well I react to the medication. But.. at the same time I think if my bridesmaid was running away that morning, id want to know about it sooner than later.

Not really sure what to do...

@Pinkemi believe me I counted down every day until we started ovulation induction!

@LexieJean I’m ashamed to admit that I picked a fight with DH about whether his work would get in the way of OI + scheduled DTD before we started (not sure if I’ve mentioned before, he’s a surgical registrar so averages 10-12 hours a day and has to stay back randomly all the time).

Had to reschedule my 7/40 scan until Monday as I realised I’d only be 6+4/40 by Friday according to the previous scan... you’d think an extra couple of days wouldn’t make that much difference but boy!!!

Will be thinking of you @Booksandbaths1 and that hycosy goes smoothly.

@ImpatientMammy welcome! In answer to your question, first bubba for me and DH. Quite possibly our only as this whole process has been very challenging for my mental health.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome everyone. By CD2 I was feeling much better, hormones have a lot to answer for. Have many of you got children already? Do drs give you the time of day, I'm worried if we get to that stage they won't care cause I have one already x

I think im coming into fertile week now.. day 10 for me and i used to ovulate between day 12 and 14 (although last cycle was day 16.) DH and I havent managed to DTD much yet and apparently hes away tomorrow (typical) so we will see. Not really bothered now that i know we are ivf-ing. Lol

So im having to use clear blue ovulation sticks without the holder..as the electronic holder broke and i refuse to buy any more! I was only using them to use them up!

@Booksandbaths1 I haven't had mine yet, but my consultant said to take ibuprofen beforehand. She said it is uncomfortable. I don't have another consultant appt for four months so not hurrying to get it doneBlush

@pink I’ll be October ivf cycle too. Currently in fw- ov today but done nothing but argue with OH this weekend which does not make for sexy time! 🤦‍♀️

Welcome @ImpatientMammy 😀 We can all empathise with the shitty feelings that a new cycle beings. Hope you are feeling a bit cheerier and are looking after yourself. Lots of self tlc required during this journey.

Thank you @OrcinusOrca and @LexieJean for the hycosy info. Work timings meant there was no sexy times during this fw anyway so hopefully I'm ok for the hycosy on cd23 next wk. Just hoping FP does arrive crazy early this cycle and scupper it as can't be done during bleeding. Did you guys take pain meds beforehand?

Now that i know we are taking the IVF route.. im almost counting down the days before we can start! what am I like. lol
