CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Thanks @chooklass.
That’s reassuring your cycle didn’t shift too far - i’ll start OPKs and hopefully I’m still on track.
No, haven’t been ill or particularly stressed. I’ve been very busy at work but that’s normal for the start of term! At least I know a BFP is possible now, even if it didn’t last. Maybe next month.......
Good luck to you too x

Chooklass · 26/09/2018 07:11

Hmm, it's so frustrating when your body throws you a curve ball like that @Teachermummy83. I had a similar bfp-then-bfn experience a few months back but it didn't seem to affect my cycle. When I had flu last winter af was about 10 days late so OV must have been delayed. Had you been ill last cycle? Or really stressed? Unfortunately I think peeing on lots of sticks might be the way forward Thanks

Wondered if any of you lovely ladies can give me some advice about ovulation? I was always a regular 30 day cycle and used the Ovia app to narrow down ovulation, sometimes using sticks in my fertile week to pinpoint the date, sometimes not.
Period was due Sat 15th but amidst lots of pregnancy symptoms, didn’t arrive. Got our first ever BFP on Fri 21st, followed by BFNs on Sat am, Sat pm and Sun am, then again from the nurse on Monday pm. Gutted and confused - no idea what’s gone on. I still haven’t had my proper (normally very heavy) period, despite very light bleeding / traces of bleeding since Wed 19th.
Not sure if I should count this bleeding as my period or just spotting? The app has deleted all future predicted dates which I always went by. Trying to figure out how to calculate rough future ovulation dates? What date do I work from? I know I could do daily tests but just wondered if anyone could help me narrow the timescale down a bit?
Any advice, oh wise ones? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi all met my friends 3 week old today ovaries bursting. She knows we've been trying and has had her own long journey herself so let me change nappies, burp and cuddle all I wanted. I know some people find being around babies on this journey hard but I really just need to be around them right now (maybe not on CD1 though) anyway broodier than ever one more baby dance for luck and then to endure the two week wait.

Sounds like a few of you are having hard days today hopefully the group will get some good news soon to perk us all up and provide a bit of hope.

Anyone due around the 5th? I don't POAS anymore but it's nice to have a cycle buddy c

Pinkemi · 25/09/2018 12:42

@Chooklassn its all feet.. I have pretty tickilish feet too and had the same worry.. I guess you wont know unless you try?

So... my meds have been delivered today and im now so nervous! Wish I didnt have to go down this route.

@Si1ver when you were doing IVF.. if you were a few minutes out for the injections did it matter? Im really struggling to find a time that I can do them at the same time every evening... sometimes my commute takes longer than normal.. so 1 night might be 6:38pm, the next 6:45pm. Do you think this matters??

Chooklass · 25/09/2018 12:00

@Pinkemi Do they do lots on your feet? My feet are super tickly and I'm worried I won't be able to bear someone touching them!

Pinkemi · 25/09/2018 09:56

@Chooklass I LOVE reflexology.... so so so relaxing. I always nearly fall asleep in my sessions!

@JustLikeTheySaid Welcome!

Booksandbaths1 · 25/09/2018 09:49

@Sparkwood I'm sorry to hear that. It must be a really tough position to be in: wanting to keep the hope alive but also feeling defeated by it all. Perhaps a bit of non ttc time will help gain a view on things? There are always options like donor egg ivf if you felt that was something you might want to pursue later down the line. Will keep our fingers crossed for a wee miracle for you in the meantime.x

Chooklass · 24/09/2018 19:56

Sorry you are feeling sad @SparkwoodAnd21 . These sorts of milestones are tough.

Welcome @JustLikeTheySaid! Hope you're not here long (in the nicest possible way).

AF arrived again for me a few days ago. Focussing on next fertility appt in Oct and hoping we'll be referred for ivf. Going to try reflexology as I've heard it's good for de-stressing if nothing else.

JustLikeTheySaid · 24/09/2018 19:46

Thanks Spark. Really sorry to hear that milestone :( sending you support tonight like you've just done for me x

SparkwoodAnd21 · 24/09/2018 19:31

I’ve just thrown out my old maternity clothes from last time. I think I’ve about given up. This month was my last chance to have a baby before turning 42 (even writing that I’m still trying at my age seems stupid) and after 2.5 years of trying it seems totally hopeless. We’re theoretically trying till the end of the year but it’s pointless. So there’s my miserable post for the day. 😢

SparkwoodAnd21 · 24/09/2018 19:26

Welcome Just. We all do depressing posts here quite a bit so you’re in good company. This is the place to come for a moan any time you like.

JustLikeTheySaid · 24/09/2018 19:01

Hi all. I've been waiting to be 6months+ before joining but I think I've known all along we would end up here. Today is day 1 of my 7th cycle of actively ovulation stick trying... But I've been off the pill for 16months now with no luck. Doctors told me to wait until 1yr of active trying which I wish would just hurry up tbh. Having a really really low day today, feel absolutely doom and gloom and like this is never going to happen for us. Awful. Sorry for the depressing first post :(

Pinkemi · 24/09/2018 14:32

Wow looks like i missed quite a bit this weekend!

Im off sick again today.. so fed up of this rubbish. Really busy time at work so im sure my name is being dragged through mud right now.

On a side note.. just recieved notification to say my meds have been shipped for next week. Due tomorrow. Ahhhh. I dont wanna start. :-(

Booksandbaths1 · 23/09/2018 21:19

@OrcinusOrca Me!! I love horses and had one as a teenager (I'm not posh but grew up in a completely rural area so there wasn't much around to do as a kid so horse riding was common). I have tried a few riding lessons locally but it hasn't been the same so would love to get a horse. It's such an incredible bond and I miss it. Horses are amazing. If you can afford the money and time, go for it. I would but my job etc makes it tricky atm. I totally agree that it's important to keep up hobbies and things that you enjoy, especially when ttc can take over.

OrcinusOrca · 23/09/2018 18:05

@ImpatientMammy yes definitely could. I don't really want to share someone else's myself but would be prepared to share my own or loan it out. I don't want to fall in love with something that can never be mine, I had that as a teen and then the pony was taken away and I never saw her again. Another time the owner was a bit chicken and so it was always me getting on to sort her (sometimes, pig of a) horse out manners wise. Much rather be the one in control...

ImpatientMammy · 23/09/2018 17:01

Hi @OrcinusOrca I think having a hobby sounds like it could be really good for you. Could you share the horse later if you did become pregnant? I've never rode but exercise is my abseloute sanity right now so can see why riding would be good for the mind x

OrcinusOrca · 23/09/2018 16:00

How is everybody's weekend going?

I need talking down! I struggle to relax. When people ask me what I enjoy doing I really find it hard to answer. Then I had a bit of a lightbulb moment. Yes there is nothing right now that I do and particularly enjoy, but I used to really enjoy being with horses. I used to ride as a teen and shared a couple of horses at different points. Then I relocated and I had contact with horses on the ground for a few years but no riding and then did a little bit of riding 18 months ago. Lessons or sharing isn't the same as having your own though. So I threw the idea out there to DH and he says if we can afford one I can have one Shock

It feels a bit nuts. But I'm thinking about it! Part of me is all 'but what if I get pregnant' but let's be honest, what if I never do? I wouldn't say I really enjoy life with the extra curricular stuff I do or have available at the moment. Are any fellow yammers into horses?

OrcinusOrca · 23/09/2018 15:47

Sorry to hear about your uncertainty of what is going on @Teachermummy83 Thanks

Teachermummy83 · 22/09/2018 22:42

Another negative. I’m away to greet.
So cruel after the positive last night.
I hate this.

ImpatientMammy · 22/09/2018 18:41

Different brands have deferent sensitivity's so there is potential that your still pregnant. Hope your ok maybe grab another of the Asda ones and test again in the morning to give yourself a better idea what's going on. Sending love in the meantime x

Teachermummy83 · 22/09/2018 18:37

@impatientmummy last night was an Asda digital. This morning was clearblue digital. Does the brand of the test make much difference?

ImpatientMammy · 22/09/2018 18:32

Yes @Teachermummy83 I would. Is it the same brand of test you used? X

Teachermummy83 · 22/09/2018 17:42

@impatientmammy I just don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s very light bleeding, only when wiping, but very dark brown. Certainly not my normal period as I’m normally very heavy and crampy (Sorry for too much information!)
Still have the strong metallic taste and no cramping, so who knows what’s happening! Have an appointment with the nurse on Monday for a tetanus injection so will maybe ask then?

ImpatientMammy · 22/09/2018 17:22

Aww @Teachermummy83 has af actually begun. Fingers crossed it's just a false negative? X
