CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Pinkemi sending hugs, I hate it when you just know fp is on the way, it's a major come down month after month.

Sorry I've been AWOL on here... fp got me hard this month, starting 5 days early which never happens it then lasted nearly 10 days! With it came emotional craziness and it was different to other months. The other day me and dp had a heated debate about money and dp having not yet still had his tests, he totally flipped out at me and we almost almost decided to stop ttcing....until my libido increased with ovulation lol! Anyway I'm cycle day 14 today so we've dtd twice this week. So I'm technically still in, whilst thinking what the heck I'm doing with my life! I need a new project which isn't ttc to take my mind off things, does anyone have any interesting hobbies? I've got on the cleaning band wagon last few weeks which has really helped my stress and anxiety I highly recommend it

Baby dust and much love x

Coming up to CD70 with no sign of AF. Last had a negative test on CD45 ish. After that one I vowed my next test would be my positive one so I haven't done any random testing.

Trying so hard to not cave on that today. I've been quiet on here as have been taking a step back from all the ttc madness and just relaxing, went on holiday and started my new job so I've been distracted and the last two days it's taken over my mind again. I have sore boobs (only when touched - does anyone else poke their boobs most days to see if they hurt in the hopes that they will and you'll be pg? Just me? Probably...) a horrible taste in my mouth and I had a nosebleed for the first time since I was a child completely out of nowhere. Also whilst on holiday I said to DH that my hair hurt, which was such an odd sensation as I didn't think hair could hurt haha. Of course DH Googled and it came back with early pregnancy and the seed was planted and now I'm obsessing again. Someone please talk me out of testing.. I can't handle another negative!!

Hope you are all well, @Teachermummy83 so sorry that your BFP was so short lived, I can't imagine how much that must of messed with your head. @Pinkemi Crossing everything for you, but if AF comes atleast you can start the treatment and hopefully be one step closer to your BFP.

Xx

Teachermummy83 · 30/09/2018 11:22

Oh it’s just a laugh an emotional rollercoaster @Pinkemi! You’re entitled to tears if it arrives - Mother Nature can be so cruel in this game! The more you try to not get your hopes up, the harder it gets. I convinced myself that the symptoms that led to my BFP weren’t symptoms at all, just to stop myself becoming disappointed, when clearly they were early signs. TTC just screws with your mind on every level.
Poor Hubby! I’d be feeling the same - been snapping at my poor other half all week whether he’s been positive or upset with me - Poor sod can’t do right for doing wrong!! 😳
I’m not bad, thanks. Trying to be philosophical that at least we finally got as far as a BFP and maybe another will come along soon? I’ve got a big holiday to look forward to next week so I think we’ll take a month off the OPKs and timed DTD to try and give us a mental break. Also we’re sharing apartments with my parents, and as much as I know they’re desperate to become grandparents, that may be a little too much for them to bear!!! 😂😂 hahaha!

Pinkemi · 30/09/2018 10:35

The dreaded AF is due tomorrow.. all the signs are there that its coming.. feeling seriously grumpy today (although that might just be because DH has been on a stag do this weekend and im feeling self conscious.) Plus feel sick but then i did scoff my face with Dominos last night. Haha

Who am I kidding.. its going to come tomorrow and the injections will start. I need to think like this so im not heartbroken when it does come. (Although not going to lie.. will still have a cry when it comes!)

How are you doing today? Im sorry about your recent experience.. Sad but id probably be avoiding that brand too if it happened to me. Lol

Teachermummy83 · 30/09/2018 09:55

Yep @Pinkemi, I’ve heard they’re the best ones. Hopefully it’s still just too early to pick up the hormone?
Personally I’d avoid Asda digitals after my experience, but I think I’m just being daft there.
When is AF actually due?

Pinkemi · 30/09/2018 07:50

Thanks! Little confused as my temp has risen slightly for the past 3 days.. but i took a test yesterday and it was negative..it was one if those FRER so you think it would have picked something up if it was there. Meh.

Teachermummy83 · 29/09/2018 22:09

Keeping everything crossed for you @Pinkemi, hopefully it’s not AF. X

Pinkemi · 28/09/2018 13:25

think the dreaded FP is definitely on her way. Havent had any symptoms really to show me otherwise.. and my temp dropped a bit again this morning. Tried to convince myself that it dropped because its cooler in the room.. haha

Im also back to feeling meh which i normally feel a few days before it starts. Really agitated and just generally annoyed with everything.

Hope everyone else is having a good week.

maddiie · 28/09/2018 07:59

Glad all is progressing well with you @BGDino Smile

Teachermummy83 · 27/09/2018 20:21

Congrats @BGdino, delighted for you. It’s so nice to hear a positive story and certainly gives me some hope of possible good things to come xx
@Chooklass, that made me laugh! Chocolate solves everything and you’re right, it (unfortunately!!!) won’t multiply before you’re eyes! 🤣😂 Think I may join you with the treats and chocolate - AF has arrived in style - worst period I’ve ever had in my 22 fertile years! Makes me wonder if my BFP the other week was in fact a proper Positive, as I’ve never had bleeding like this before! 😢 Bath, painkillers and chocolate required tonight. x

Pinkemi · 27/09/2018 16:19

@Chooklass oh my goodness.. talk about unfortunate or what!!

@BGDino also happy to hear pork dumpling is going well. :-) Reading your post made me start thinking about what I could call mine once we are successful with IVF. (Positive mental attitude... positive mental attitude.... )

Chooklass · 27/09/2018 12:18

I'm so happy to hear that your little pork dumpling is doing well @BGDino!

I just treated myself to a haircut to cheer myself up after AF and 2 x baby bombs in last week... and just ended up with hairdressers massive pregnant belly squished into my side for the last hour! Got to see the funny side though!! Next time I'll just buy chocolate. At least chocolate can't get pregnant before me!!

Si1ver · 27/09/2018 08:40

That's brilliant @BGDino, I'm so pleased it's working out.

BGDino · 27/09/2018 05:40

Hello everyone, just thought I'd check in and say hi and sending good vibes to everyone. @Pinkemi sounds full on, I take my (metaphorical) hat off to you xxx @Chooklass I second that you guys all kept me sane during the madness and I'll always be grateful.

8+2/40 now, nausea is a fixture of my life but I'm told this is a sign things are as they should be. We've started referring to our little one as our dumpling (we're Asian so it seemed appropriate). Mum looked up its Chinese zodiac animal and it's to be born in the Year of the Pig, so guess it's a little pork dumpling!!! Grin

Teachermummy83 · 26/09/2018 21:30

I totally agree @Chooklass, it’s tough. I didn’t go to the gp either, just asked the nurse during an unrelated appointment. Just hate not having answers. Must be the curse of the birthdays as my birthday had been my ovulation day for that cycle too 😔. Im convinced it wasn’t a dodgy test because the symptoms I’d had for that entire week were so weird, but I suppose we’ll never truly know.
@Pinkemi, thank you. This was our first ever BFP in a very long period of trying too, so very hard. Fingers crossed I can work out my cycle quickly to get us back on track.
Mother Nature surely owes one of us some luck soon?!?

Chooklass · 26/09/2018 15:42

Don't know what I'd do without this thread to vent on! You're all ace xx

Chooklass · 26/09/2018 15:41

I'm gonna see this one at work most days 😭! The other one can be hidden from my fb timeline if necessary!!

Pinkemi · 26/09/2018 14:57

@Chooklass I also got a baby bomb today when scrolling through facebook. I quickly scrolled past the post and tried to pretend I hadn't read it! (hug)

Chooklass · 26/09/2018 14:22

Second baby bomb this week. Ugh. They got bfp first month of trying. Trying to be happy for them and not managing!

Pinkemi · 26/09/2018 14:05

@Si1ver Good news! I checked with my nursing team and they say that the morning injection has to be taken between 6-8am and the same for the evening injection. As long as its between those times and i stick to the same time every night, I am okay! Phew!

So morning injection (when i start them) will be 6:30am and evening ill do 8pm to make sure I am comfy at home. Bit of good news for the day! =]

@Teachermummy83 Sorry your going through this. I wish I could help but I have never seen even a glimmer of a BFP in the 17 months we have been TTC.

Chooklass · 26/09/2018 11:13

@Teachermummy83 I've no idea. It was a faint FRER line so false positive seems unlikely, but all bfn's after that. Didn't go to gp as didn't think they'd be able to do anything. So I don't really know if it was a chemical preg or a dodgy FRER. It's the only sniff of a bfp I've had in 19 cycles. Happened on my birthday too, so felt like it was meant to be - really tough to deal with Sad. Be kind to yourself in the next few weeks.

Si1ver · 26/09/2018 10:45

Oh interesting. I only had one shot a day.

I did a short protocol. I had 275ml of GonalF once a day then added in the cetrotide for the last five days then triggered with something else beginning with O, which I appear to have forgotten.

I think what I'd do in your position is have your morning shots at a set time (6.30 for example) last thing you do before you leave the house, then grab a cold bag for your evening meds and that way of you're delayed you'll not be panicking.

You might be best placed to ask on the infertility boards about this. I remember doing all of mine at a set time, but I think the really important one was the trigger, where it had to be bang on timewise.

Interesting how much I've protectively blanked out about the process already 😂

Pinkemi · 26/09/2018 10:18

@Si1ver The issue i have is when I have to do the morning ones. They said it has to be 12hrs between them so like 7am and 7pm. The evening ones are the Gonal F Pen so not too bad.. its the morning ones that Ill have to mix up. Anyway.. the issue is this...

To get to the scans in the morning.. I will have to leave home at 6:45am. I dont get home till gone 6:30pm (depending on traffic.)

I guess i just have to hope that 15mins here or there is not going to make much of a difference. Confused

My fridge is chocka with all this medication! Wont be able to have anyone over for the next month incase they see it all. haha

Oooh that medicine cool bag looks good.. I was going to use just a food cool bag to keep my meds in... Which actually might be better for the days that I have to go to acupuncture.. will need to bring the needles into work and keep them in the work fridge. Dont want to make it obvious that they are medicine.

urgh.. if only i had a sabbatical!

Si1ver · 26/09/2018 09:22

@Pinkemi I don't think five minutes here or there will matter too much lovely. However, I did mine at 8pm each night. I bought a drugs cool bag as well, so the one time I wasn't home at 8pm I nipped to the restaurant toilet and did the injection there. Fortunately it was still Gonal F in a pen injector at that point. I'm not sure I'd have liked to have been mixing the cetrotide powders and liquid while balancing on the bog.

It was something like this I had

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0757RPZVB/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ref=plSrch&keywords=cold+bag+medication&dpPl=1&dpID=51rLX-1U9fL&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1537950107&sr=8-1

I didn't use it much but it was reassuring to have anyway.

Teachermummy83 · 26/09/2018 08:38

Sorry to ask @Chooklass, but did you ever get an explanation for your BFP / BFN situation? I’d love to know what caused it, but when I mentioned it to the nurse, he wasn’t too sure. Just wondered what yours turned out to be?
