CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Sorry. That should have said the man in the other car. My husband was at the football which is where I'd need dropping him off. It was just myself and my son in our car and the husband in the other car was going spare at me. MY husband said he is playing for an insurance claim and to ignore it.

HidCat · 02/06/2018 21:53

@nearlysummer2018 blimey, I'm glad everyone is ok. Sounds like your husband when straight into protection mode, I hope he's calmed down.

WonkyDonk87 · 02/06/2018 21:41

Oh god that's awful. Your husband behaved like an arse and his comments about the kids needing psychological help is bollocks. Do you think he'll have calmed a bit by morning? Are you home now?

nearlysummer2018 · 02/06/2018 21:19

@WonkyDonk87 I crashed my husbands car. No one was hurt at all but he shouted at me and told me his kids could have been killed and they all went to hospital and he said they would need psychological help now to get in the car again. I know he was shocked and angry but it made it a million times worse 😢 I admitted fault and gave the wife all my details. She was driving the other car and was fine with me but he was screaming and shouting.

WonkyDonk87 · 02/06/2018 21:07

@nearlysummer2018 Thanks You ok?

nearlysummer2018 · 02/06/2018 20:39

Place marking. Had a horrific day today so just want somewhere safe to forget it. Nothing to do with ttc just the worst day ever.

WonkyDonk87 · 02/06/2018 17:15

That should say 'very woo stuff' but apparently my autocorrect is a bit racist Blush

WonkyDonk87 · 02/06/2018 17:14

My garden's a tip but I'm rather proud of this beauty.

I'm rather sold on the acupuncture now, despite being normally very cynical. Today's offerings have included some very wok stuff with Chinese herbs but, in for a penny in for a pound and all that!

@orcinus I love your chooks! They’re gorgeous. I’d love to have some but we’re in London and lucky to have any outside space at all but it’s not big enough for chickens. Tomatoes and cucumbers I’m hoping.

Haha! @sooz I used to have the same thing in our old place- a tiny patch of lawn and the landlady refused to get a new mower so it would be all patchy and wonky!

Good work in the gardens all you yammers this weekend- hopefully the crazy thunderstorms are done.

@si1ver I would have been furious too! Hope everything is progressing well for you.

Sorry about the bfn @june I trust you had a good night out with plenty of drinking!!

@wonky how are you finding your acupuncture? I’m still sceptical but after 4 months I really feel different- my whole mindset to TTC has shifted. It’s still shit, and I still get sad when FP shows up but somehow I’m less obsessed. Less stressed perhaps? I feel like she has really opened me up (it’s like a weekly therapy session) and calmed me down. As we’ve pushed back our ivf attempt I’m going to continue with the acupuncture for a few more months I think.

HidCat · 02/06/2018 07:51

@LookingAtTheStars89 and @Pinkemi I hope you manage to work through this. I've lost half a stone recently by cutting out the snacking and eating less bread so don't lose hope. I gained a stone during my pregnancy/miscarriage so feeling a bit better now.

Mellp · 02/06/2018 07:27

Ive managed to lose around 1.5 stone since November. Hasn’t helped much with the TTC but I do feel so much better, confidence wise, and I think it has helped with the libido! I’m not a proper diet bore though, if I fancy a Chinese and sharing pack of maltesers to myself then I will treat myself from time to time!! I’m not a nice person to be around if I completely cut out naughty things!!! And I figure life is too short

FairyAnn · 02/06/2018 07:17

Jumping in the new thread! Currently in the tww and not very hopeful but hey ho!

Pinkemi · 01/06/2018 22:51

@lookingatthestars89 oooh you sound so much like me. :-( sad isn't it how something like trying for a baby can just suck everything out of you.

I have to admit I'm failing miserably at weight loss. I'm back home from my hols on Sunday so plan to be good from then on! Enough fooling around. Need to drop weight so I can get some of my self esteem back.. Which will hopefully bring back my libido. Lol

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/06/2018 21:51

@Pinkemi My DH is hinting at fooling around tonight and after the bfn and now probably pre FP bleary eyedness, I am really NOT in the mood. I'm so fed up of ttc. I'm trying to lose weight as well and that's so fucking boring - I just want to sit with a big bar of Dairy Milk and watch TV but I can't even do that because I need to shift some weight!!

Pinkemi · 01/06/2018 21:36

@Hidcat yes been to the doctors. I don't qualify for IVF at the moment because my BMI is still too high. It has to be below 30 for IVF on the nhs. I have no idea what the waiting list is actually.

It's a long standing issue. I've put on so much weight recently that my self esteem is just out of the window.

Like for example all evening my OH has been hinting about DTD tonight (we are out for dinner with friends.) I am flaking hard.. so tired.. just want to go home and sleep. He is just playing darts and drinking. Just meh. I'm just so fed up of the whole damn thing.. convinced I won't ever get pregnant. :-(

HidCat · 01/06/2018 21:23

@Pinkemi I hope you're ok? Have you been to your doc about your anxiety over TTC? There must be something they can do. Do you qualify for IVF?

@OrcinusOrca please try to not beat yourself up about the termination. I know that's easier said than done but your time will come again. Love the blue eggs! Do they taste any different to the regular brown ones?

@LexieJean I've grown so used to the term Aunt Flo since using Mumsnet I have to stop myself saying it IRL 🤦🏼‍♀️. Much prefer FP!

@Cariad2017 I really hope that the IVF works first time for you.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 01/06/2018 21:20

I did a FRER earlier and it was negative so now I feel like shit. I'm maybe only 9/10dpo though so who knows, maybe it's too early.

Sorry about the FP mynameisjune

Orcinus they are positively luffly! Thankyou for sharing Grin

Chooklass · 01/06/2018 19:46

Lovely chooks!

Cariad2017 · 01/06/2018 19:41

Mynameis - sorry to hear about the BFN. A guilt free night out sounds like just what the Dr ordered though.

I’ve decided that if our first shot at IVF is unsuccessful (as is statistically likely), I’m going to take a break from ttc and drink as much as I please guilt free in September and October.

MynameisJune · 01/06/2018 18:38

@cariad I did, bfn as expected. I’m drinking guilt free. Stress this month is probably the culprit in the weirdly light fp.

OrcinusOrca · 01/06/2018 18:26

I luffs you all already, is that too sentimental for yams?! Blush

Sounds like everyone has got to work hard this weekend, booooo. My chooks run the risk of outing me as they're quite distinctive but I think I'm beyond caring at this point! They do indeed lay, blue eggs too.

They're hard to get photos of because they move really quick...three are bathing in the flower bed and the other is pootling around by herself currently.

Mynameis - Have you POAS yet? Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞

Si1ver Grin A blessing in disguise!

DH tried to mow our garden today but the lawn mower (rented property, he found it in the shed) kept cutting out so he gave up. So there's a third of our lawn that's short (very wonky) and the rest of it is about a foot-and-a-half high with grass and weeds. I despair of it ever being cut. The neighbours must be cringing every time they see our garden.

Si1ver · 01/06/2018 17:23

@LimpLettice my garden has exploded too. I spent an hour this afternoon weeding the front garden and I'm knackered. I'm also pissed off with my husband. He told me I needed to be in from 1 to 5 for Vodafone to change our broadband so I raced home from work and spent the afternoon waiting with a dog desperate for our usual Friday afternoon walk. Turns out it was the 15th not 1st.

He's only still alive because I can't lift the patio slabs to hide his body underneath.
