CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

GIRLS have to tell you this funny story

Went into Anne Summers today. They had a sale on and I'm a cheap skate. So thought right I'll find something nice pretty not sexy just nice pretty so anyways went to get a nice bra than more than my nipple fits and thought....ooh wonder if they have any sperm friendly lube so anyways went to the "back section " and there were two old grannies looking at lubes so awkwardly pretended i was interested. Have you ever seen so many types of lubes !?!?! Then the shop assistant asks if I need help. So by this point I'm feeling obliged to buy something.....so I basically faff about for 20 mins then walk out. Low and behold there was no sperm friendly lube and dp can put up with Primark specials

Owlpatrol · 16/06/2018 22:07

@OrcinusOrca I don't know and my progesterone levels came back ok but I think if it tapers off weirdly one month randomly it can affect at the end. I just don't know what to do with myself my cramps have been getting worse.....wheres the chocolate

OrcinusOrca · 16/06/2018 22:02

@Owlpatrol what on earth is yo for us to get such weird issues like that?! People seem to say spotting mean slow progesterone and I don't think mine was especially high but charting and OPKs suggest I ovulate. Why is women's health such a stab in the dark?

Owlpatrol · 16/06/2018 22:01

@OrcinusOrca oh that randomly happened to me last month I had no idea why!! It's so annoying I spotted since cycle day 20. Initially thought it was implantation but eventually went to full fp

OrcinusOrca · 16/06/2018 21:56

@Owlpatrol I'm in the same boat as you re waiting for FP!

11DPO today, spotting since late 7DPO. It's heavier spotting than I think I've ever had. Wondering if I will even get FP, wouldn't be surprised if my uterus has already shed its contents! On the plus side my last cycle was 32 days and today is CD28 so hopefully I'm at least getting some regularity back. Very worried by such heavy spotting though. Seem to have such different issues all the time I think I'm full on broken Sad

Owlpatrol · 16/06/2018 18:07

Well I've had some more cramps today and a BFN this morning so I'm having a little prosecco tonight. I really wanted that bfp for tomorrow but thinking unlikely now. I think cramps are getting worse as well so just waiting it out and trying not to get too down about it

BGDino · 16/06/2018 06:58

Yay @SoozC! Hopefully you can relax and enjoy your second and third trimesters xxx

Feeling for you @Pinkemi! Had an argument with hubby last night about the whole work getting in the way of TTC etc;

In other news 1) I’m still spotting brown dried blood 2) my fertility specialist emailed to say I need a rubella booster shot as my tests show I’m not immune, and I have to wait 4 weeks before TTC. I had a booster in November and it was probably my 4th one since turning 18 so I’m going to be spending the afternoon combing through the medical literature on poor responses to rubella vaccine. Our national vaccination handbook says if you don’t get a good response after a second shot there’s not much point keeping on giving further ones. The pessimist in me thinks maybe this is just another sign from the universe to tell me I’m not supposed to have children.

On the plus side it means I can drink the crisp Aussie white in my fridge without guilt (Petaluma Chardonnay if anyone’s interested)!

HidCat · 15/06/2018 13:13

@Pinkemi it certainly won't hurt. Have a spa day, drink too many cocktails and just say fuck it! We put our lives on hold for this and it really does take its toll. I'm really praying for a little miracle in the next few months whether natural or IVF makes no difference.

Pinkemi · 15/06/2018 09:53

thanks @HidCat but i doubt it. Ive been TTC now for so long so I can tell when my body is ready.. and i'm getting the signs that its going to be the next couple of days.

I don't think i would be as upset as I am if it wasn't the last month of TTC naturally you know? I mean theoretically it is (the IVF clinic said no longer then 6 months) but actually realistically we will be trying for a few more months because we cant afford to go private and my BMI is too high for NHS.

So in reality.. I shouldn't be getting so upset.. but I just worry so much... the clinic really made me feel like Im running out of time!

On a side note... Last night i thought sod it.. and I ordered a book from Amazon. Its called "Is your mind fertility ready" or something like that. I'm beginning to wonder if my stress of not being pregnant is MAKING me not get pregnant. lol My reflexologist said on Wednesday that my adrenal gland always feels slightly inflamed.. and recommends I need to "relax" more. (Pfft) Maybe this will book will help. shrug can't do any worse! lol

HidCat · 15/06/2018 05:38

@Pinkemi oh hun that really sucks. Hopefully you'll ovulate a little late and it won't matter.

Pinkemi · 14/06/2018 22:17

Oh for pete sake.. this month is definitely a write off. OH has been called away tonight meaning no DTD until late Sunday night. Currently sitting here sobbing. It just seems so bloody unfair!!!!

OrcinusOrca · 14/06/2018 21:03

@Rubberduckies I didn't know that, I thought B6 got into and left your system right away? Not taking a complex, most threads I saw seemed to be people just taking B6. Are you taking a B complex, if so how much? I'm really torn on AC, can't find much positivity most reviews are for general imbalances not TTC and I'm worried it could make me worse...am soooo tempted to spend money on a year of FF hoping it tempts fate

@SparkwoodAnd21 I'm on 100mg B6, folic acid and 2 x 1000iu vitd as I am not a sun fan and a blood test showed me to be low in it.

@Owlpatrol  sad days are SHIT

@Pinkemi DTD every other day is meant to be sufficient no? I flit between whether we should do daily or every other. One of those mysteries I would love to know the answer to!

@SoozC Congrats! Glad your scan went well. Has your bleeding completely subsided now? Empathy is always welcome on here Halo

SparkwoodAnd21 · 14/06/2018 21:02

@SoozC that’s wonderful news, I’m so happy for you.

Owl and Pink my DP is away too! He often is though so it’s nothing unusual.

HidCat · 14/06/2018 21:02

@SoozC that's great news - so happy for you!

SoozC · 14/06/2018 20:49

Hi Yammers, hope you don't mind me dropping in. Just want to let you know I had my 12-week scan today and all is fine. I have been very worried, especially as I was bleeding around weeks 6-7. But I have now reached that miracle deadline so feeling more positive about it.

Still following the thread as got my fingers crossed for some bfps. Wishing I could help you all out as I know how horrible long-term ttc can be. Big hugs!

Owlpatrol · 14/06/2018 20:35

@Pinkemi is your dp away with mine lol I'm all alone this weekend miserable and depressed lol pizza and wine will certainly help

FairyAnn · 14/06/2018 18:50

I think it depends on your age as well @bama4. We had been trying for 1 year when we went to the docs but as I'm 35, they started testing us.

bama4 · 14/06/2018 18:11

Hi ladies , have been awol since 2 threads ago just trying to not think about this Ttc lark but have been checking in and just had to comment after seeing @Countrygirl94 a comment about how long till you go to the doctor. I have been ttc since April 2017, went to the doctor 2 months ago and he said guidelines for my area is 2 years and he couldn't help me. Was so frustrated but sort of got over it but now seeing so many of you seen so much sooner is making me question it again. Would anyone go back to the doctors in my position? Xx

Pinkemi · 14/06/2018 16:17

*Tonight, not tomorrow night. He's away tomorrow and Sat!

Pinkemi · 14/06/2018 16:17

So.. feeling a little narked off.. Just worked out that OH is away this weekend and its my fertile time. If we DTD tomorrow night and then on sunday when he is back.. we just "might" catch it.. although I'm not holding out much hope! Looks like this month is another write off.

Oh well.. I guess its plenty of time to focus on myself. (sigh)

LexieJean · 14/06/2018 16:00

Sending you a virtual hug @owl 💐 sad days are the worst

Owlpatrol · 14/06/2018 13:00

Feeling a bit sad today ladies have been having cramps and one week prior to af all normal for me so I think I'm out. I was going to test tomorrow but not sure now. I just feel so sad I don't know how I can carry on with my job being so stressed and knowing it's not helping my ttc

LexieJean · 14/06/2018 10:14

@rubberduckies I’m all for being open about it but my OH isn’t. He says it’s a private thing between us. I put that down to the fact he doesn’t talk to anyone about it (which I don’t think is great) and a bit of male ego. Which is crazy because we’re in the ‘unexplained infertility ‘ camp so there’s technically nothing wrong with either of us!

@nearly that doesn’t sound great at all. @bubble had some insides drop outside too but I don’t know if she ever got it checked out? Perhaps it’s actually normal. Sounds gross but perhaps you could collect a sample if it happens again and ask GP/gynae?

Countrygirl94 · 14/06/2018 08:31

@Rubberduckies you are right it would be easier to be more open about it. I am going to open up and tell my mum about having been trying for a while, luckily she hasn't been one of the ones asking.
I'm gonna make an appointment with gp.

That's so frustrating about your referral! I hope they've sorted out an appointment for you now.

SparkwoodAnd21 · 14/06/2018 08:17

I’ll maybe try AC and B complex too.
