CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hope your ok @Pinkemi how what cycle day you on?

I had my first "why am I not pregnant yet" drs appointment today. They're doing CD21 bloods and a sperm test for OH but I'm not sure they'll do much else as I'm very lucky to have conceived my little but naturally.

What else is there we can do? How much does acupuncture cost? I read on another thread a while ago about seeing a herbal dr has anyone tried this ? I'm totally ready to try anything now I may have even googled if you can buy clomid online before I remembered I'm not insane. Also the grapefruit thing? Anyone tried it? I'm on a diet and don't like grapefruit. Or evening primrose 🤔 Sorry I'm totally obsessing tonight. I hope your all ok x

Pinkemi · 05/10/2018 14:08

It as a FRER that I used this morning for my BFN. Sad

Pinkemi · 05/10/2018 14:07

@Chooklass I am desperate! 😂 I hate this limbo.. but i dont want to hurt my chances if i actually am preggers you know? Normally Sex brings my period on.. but ive just been so not in the mood recently. Hmm Maybe I should just bite the bullet and get in the mood. lol

Chooklass · 05/10/2018 14:00

Or going for a big poo! I have nothing more useful to offer I'm afraid! 😂

Chooklass · 05/10/2018 13:59

Aw @Pinkemi! You sound pretty desperate! Thanks. Using up a FRER usually brings my period along shortly after!

Pinkemi · 05/10/2018 13:22

Anyone have any idea how I might be able to induce a period... but not harm a baby if there is one there?!

Very bored now.

Chooklass · 05/10/2018 12:31

Hi @OrcinusOrca, I never got round to trying agnus castus - think I did some reading around and decided it wasn't for me. My cycles are totally regular and a good length so I was scared of messing that up! B6 did nothing. I have pcos and possibly endo on my left ovary so I guess the bleeding is related to that, but since my cycle is healthy (apart from extra bleeding) I must have only mild pcos and endo. Scans showed my uterus and tubes look clear and healthy. Hormone tests all fine. I don't think there is much else they can do and suspect my next appt in a few weeks will discuss ivf!

OrcinusOrca · 05/10/2018 10:54

Thanks @Chooklass funnily enough I read that thread a while ago but it's good to refresh my memory, doesn't sound so doom and gloom after that. Have you found anything helped, did you ever try Angus Cactus? I tried but B6 and it didn't help, made no difference at all. I've read that PCOS itself can cause spotting but I'm not sure if that's in a low progesterone/anovulatory cycle kind of way.

I am finding it hard being in the yammers club currently Sad Get to a point where I feel like a BFP would fix everything in my life and of course it wouldn't but you get to levels of desperation don't you? It just feels so unfair. I am not liking my 'new' job much at all. Been there six months, need to do a couple of years really which is why buggering off on mat leave would be ideal, but it's going to get to a point where I will say to DH enough, because I don't want to get stuck there. I'm working outside of my specialism, and I like the area I work with but my actual team is rubbish. I can't stay out of my specialism too long else it will get very tough to go back, and I definitely do want to go back. Ho hum Sad

Owlpatrol · 05/10/2018 07:34

@OrcinusOrca yeah I've had some months spotting from about cycle day 25 not fun but I'm going to read that thread

@Pinkemi ahhh I really feel for you. Keep strong chick

Pinkemi · 05/10/2018 07:27

So bored of this limbo of am i pregnant or not? I know i said i wouldnt.. but i took another test this morning and still.bloody negative. (Sigh) got excited about my accupuncture visit and was sure id see a result this morning. Ho hum.

Temp has dropped quite a bit this morning so perhaps today is the day.

Long-time luteal spotter - anyone else?www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2998852-Long-time-luteal-spotter-anyone-else

@OrcinusOrca x

Chooklass · 05/10/2018 07:18

I'm a spotter @OrcinusOrca! I had another thread about it for a while which had some useful links to other theads posted on it too, will try and find the link.

I always spotted from around then too, but since having a hysteroscopy in May I spot loads less and usually only from 9/10 dpo. No idea what that procedure did to help or if it's just a coincidence. But I'm still not pregnant so it didn't help in that way!

OrcinusOrca · 04/10/2018 22:40

Does anyone on here spot a lot before FP? I start at like 6DPO and it gets progressively heavier from. Slight brown discharge to hmm what am I classing as day one..? Levels.

I've been on the pill the bulk of my years of having periods and when I wasn't on it I didn't spot like this. Stressing that it's the reason why nothing is happening. Maybe I'm ovulating but my progesterone drops too fast? Urgh Sad

Pinkemi · 04/10/2018 22:05

So today.. my accupuncturist only did a few points on the wrists and neck. I was like nothing on my legs etc. She looked at me a little pained and was like.. not today. I basically forced her to tell me why not and she was like.. I've never felt your pulse like that before.. i dont think its safe. I was like.. omg!

Before i get too excited, it might just be because im getting over this damn lurgy. And im now lying in bed and my tummy is cramping again.. so i am imagining i will wake up to the witches arrival.

Chooklass · 04/10/2018 21:55

@Teachermummy83 Yep - TTC is tough enough without dodgy tests doing the rounds.

Teachermummy83 · 04/10/2018 20:32

@Chooklass, thanks for thinking of me but no, my positive was an Asda digital.
I got a bit excited there, thinking that might be a plausible explanation for my positive but I’m almost certain I was pregnant but had a chemical. The other symptoms I had, along with the really late, crazily heavy bleed only make me more certain.
I feel so sorry for anyone who’s had a false positive from these though. It’s utterly heartbreaking. xx

Chooklass · 04/10/2018 19:35

In case you hadn't seen the news about faulty tests:

Clear & Simple faulty digital pregnancy tests recalled www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-45749573

@Teachermummy83 you didn't use that brand did you?

Owlpatrol · 04/10/2018 18:57

I know sorry everyone is having a crappy time but it's nice to see we are all at least doing something.

Dp still won't go for his tests, I even asked him if he had the snip the other day. Didn't go down well!

I've also been so emotional with work this week and I've also had bowl issues 😂 anyway I am fairly certain this month is not possible to even be pregnant as we've done once in fw, once out of fw and dp wants to tonight which is last day of fw.....let's see. Onto the tww eh!

Booksandbaths1 · 04/10/2018 09:40

Hey yammers! Sounds like there's a lot going on with everyone. I'm impressed that everyone's pushing forward with things to try and get our bfps. I've had a crazy few weeks and am currently on hol, due to start ivf when we return. I'm on a long protocol which I'm surprised about as my amh isn't great but oh well, clinic recommended. Start cd21. Something like 4+ weeks of injections which I'm not looking forward to. Issues compounded by my sister being taken into hospital - when we return I'd like to go see her but the ivf will make travel tricky and we've not told family. Certainly adding to my worries. Hey ho. @pinkemi sounds like we'll be on meds at the same time. Good luck!

Pinkemi · 04/10/2018 09:28

Thanks for your kind words everyone. I feel a bit crappy for posting my last post.. yesterday was just one hell of a weepy day! Of course I'm thrilled that my DH's results came back normal.. but was just so angry at myself for being the problem. Part of me just cant help but wonder if I had lost the 4 stone that I was meant to have lost... would we still be having all these problems. Hmm

Temp has risen slightly today.. but my cramping has gotten worse and my bowels have kicked into action (sorry for TMI! HAHA) so im thinking today will be the day! Refuse to take any more pregnancy tests until at least Sunday morning.. because my FP would then be a week late. I can't take another blasted negative.

Have bought some cream for down there.. because too much of a wimp to take the pill to clear an infection (just in case).. but they say the cream is safe. Hopefully I will have a nice foofoo soon! hahaha

Sending hugs to everyone!

OrcinusOrca · 04/10/2018 09:25

@maddiie crikey what's awful! What a mystery. At least clomid should force ovulation.

My ovaries looked polycystic in July but a couple weeks ago I was told they didn't look poly anymore (during hycosy). Despite having really bad cystic acne on my jaw etc my hormone levels came back pretty decent too. If I'd had the clearer ultrasound and those hormone tests at the same time I'm not sure I'd have got the PCOS diagnosis. Think they say you need 2/3 markers?

I suspect I do ovulate OK but that we have some other kind of issue. Such a rollercoaster isn't it. This is my second cycle on the full dose of metformin so I am curious how regular it will be..!

maddiie · 04/10/2018 08:46

@OrcinusOrca GP can't find any reason why my cycles are so irregular! I had a useless GP for over a year who said it was fine and nothing out of the ordinary and then switched GP who said cycles that range between 20-100+ days are far from normal so all tests being ran again. No PCOS diagnosis or anything. Having some hormone tests today (for the second time) and then clomid. Doctor says there's a chance there's no fertility issue other than being so irregular causing me to have sex at the wrong times but we do try and stick to every other day so god knows really. Just want some answers because I never want to have sex again at this point Grin

OrcinusOrca · 04/10/2018 08:07

Hoping FP rocks up soon @Pinkemi

Urgh @maddiie hope yours does too!! I can't remember your background but has your GP offered metformin for PCOS?

BGDino · 04/10/2018 03:01

Ohhh @Pinkemi sending you the biggest hug I can from across the seas. Know what you mean about feeling like it’s all your fault when DH’s results come back normal - when our specialist told my DH his results were “excellent” I just remember thinking “well, it must be all my fault then”. Cue lots of tears and DH listening to me tell him that he cheated himself out of becoming a dad by marrying me and that he deserved better and should have married someone else etc; etc; etc; Crossing everything I can that once you start treatment it all becomes boringly predictable and successful xxx xxx xxx

Welcome back @LexieJean

@maddiie and I thought the 63 day cycles I used to have as a teenager were long!!! I reckon if PCOS was part of the high school teaching about periods sex etc; many girls would get diagnosed earlier and maybe make it easier further down the line when it was childbearing time...

maddiie · 03/10/2018 21:00

Sorry posted quite emotionally the other day but didn't check on anyone else.. BFN hormones let's say.

@PinkemiThanks It's such a shit time just waiting for it's inevitable arrival sometimes isn't, try to focus on your DH results being good news rather than a negative (easier said than done I know) hope this all gets easier for you xx

@ImpatientMammy Sorry to hear you're back at CD1.. I'm nearly on CD80. Can't win either way!

@LexieJean Welcome back although sorry that you have to return.. good luck with your treatment sorry to hear it's been delayed Thanks
