CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@LookingAtTheStars89 hey chick I am going to catch up on your posts
Been crazy at work busy and at home we have decorated the spare room (would be nursery Sad ) in a neutral grey and getting new carpets so that's kept me entertained. We've dtd once so far this week and I'm just starting fw currently cycke day 13 so expecting to ovulate around now. So fingers crossed! Had an awful baby bomb yesterday by a girl I used to work with, I swear she's been with the bloke 10 minutes Sad other than that I've been really good this diet is working and lost about half a stone in a month Smile anything to distract me from baby not happening right now xx

LexieJean · 02/08/2018 18:08

@pink do you mean you’re worried about them over stimulating you and getting a few eggs and then wasting the ones they don’t implant? The info I’ve had through ABC ivf is that they’ll freeze any fertilised eggs as well. So they’re not wasted.

The cheapest private ivf I found was ABC- they do a package if you qualify but how low is your amh? They also offer different services for low amh and only a few eggs are collected each cycle. Not sure about 💰 though.

Hi @looking 👋 glad to hear you’re progressing well, I hope the next 6 months go smoothly too!

Pinkemi · 02/08/2018 15:31

@LookingAtTheStars89 Sorry what I meant was.. out of all the eggs that are collected.. the ones that don't make it... If they had the correct environment in the womb.. maybe they MIGHT have made it? You see? I just hate the feeling that I am "wasting" my supply of eggs.. especially when I dont have that many left. I'm only 33.. I dont want to deplete my supply too early. (Im probably not making any sense.)

I guess I just have to wait and see... if FP will rear her head tomorrow. :(

LookingAtTheStars89 · 02/08/2018 15:29

@Pinkemi. Re boobs - I have NEVER had achey boobs during this pregnancy!

OP posts:
LookingAtTheStars89 · 02/08/2018 15:27

@Pinkemi. I don't think they use eggs that don't make it in the lab. You have to do what's best for you though.

I couldn't honestly answer about the bfn because I actually have no idea when fp is ever due these days lol I know it was cd32 so it may have been due. When I've been pregnant before I've certainly never had an early positive.

OP posts:
Pinkemi · 02/08/2018 15:16

I mean.. yesterday i suddenly thought, I havent had my normal really achy boobs.. or putting on 4lbs in one night.. but that BFN this morning put me back down to earth. lol

Pinkemi · 02/08/2018 15:14

@LookingAtTheStars89 bet you didnt have a BFN the day before you were due though? To be fair.. the cramping might have been because i was hungry. Suddenly realised I hadn't eaten anything all day! (Been too much rubbish happening for me to concentrate properly.)

I "did" look into IVF abroad but i just dunno.. I dunno how I feel about it still if that makes sense. I worry that because I have a low AMH.. Could that egg that didnt make it in the lab maybe make it in my womb? You know? :-/

I mean yeah Im probably thinking too much into it.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 02/08/2018 15:01

I'm ok thanks. I'm 12 weeks and 1 day now. I'm still knicker checking! My asthma has been pretty shitty with this heat Sad

@Chooklass. TTC is fairly soul destroying! Sometimes even now, I still feel anxiety over it even though I'm not doing it anymore - if that makes sense. DH and I haven't had full sex since my bfp, one because I don't want to chance anything and two - I have had enough fucking sex over the last 18 months or so to last a life time! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE sex with DH but the whole every other day routine whether you were in mood or not became exhausting - physically and mentally.

@Pinkemi. Have you looked abroad? When I was looking into it, it seemed a lot cheaper than in the UK. I never really got cramping before FP, it was my change in mood that tipped me off, all of a sudden I'd feel completely miserable out of nowhere, which just added to the shitiness of it!

  • with regards to the private IVF

I meant to say looks like we could only just afford it, if we were going to go down that route.

My original post made it sound like we had tried.

Pinkemi · 02/08/2018 14:27

Hey @LookingAtTheStars89 . How are things?

Things this end are pretty rubbish. Not going to sugar coat it. lol

Turns out.. we could only just about afford Private IVF.. I never realised it cost just as much as it did, what with paying for the meds etc on top. :-/

Took a pregnancy test this morning and needless to say it was BIG FAT NEGATIVE. I mean I kinda knew that this month was probably NOT going to be our month due to the amount of stress both my DH and I have been under.. but I still had / have that hope.

Currently sitting here with cramping.. I'm sure FP will show her ugly face soon.

sorry.. Im doom and gloom yet again! lol

Chooklass · 02/08/2018 13:12

Nice to hear from you @LookingAtTheStars89 ! I'm still plodding along ... pretty fed up with it all this week!

How are you?

LookingAtTheStars89 · 02/08/2018 11:55

Hey ladies :-) Just checking in. How is everyone doing?

@owlpatrol How are you doing?
@bubblegum89. I don't know if you still log in but I hope you are ok :-)

True words @books (both yammers overdue some + and remembering to actually live whilst TTC) Sounds like the weekend off really did you some good!

Yes I think we’re at the same stage with nhs ivf- I checked and my local ccg allows 2 privately funded cycles. Although I did forget to ask how many nhs cycles we get. Can’t believe I forgot to check that 🤦‍♀️ But we’re going to wait for nhs anyway- hopefully it won’t be too long!

Booksandbaths1 · 30/07/2018 17:36

And yes @Pinkemi I hear you with the diet. I've had a blissful weekend in London staying with a single and childfree friend where we ate cake, drank cocktails and got pedicures. Sod the diet occasionally, this was so good for me emotionally. And a fab distraction from impending FP.

Let's not forget to live a good life whilst we traverse this ttc rollercoaster.x

Booksandbaths1 · 30/07/2018 17:31

Hey yammers! It's soooo true, we're due for some god damn good news pronto - bring it on universe!!

@BGDino good luck with the letrozole, hormones, tests and sexy times. I've got a friend going through similar and she says that you become very used to the dildo cam 😂 She's had a lot of ups and downs from the meds so I hope it's smoother sailing for you.

@LexieJean ffs re the FP! Sounds like we're in similar positions re progressing with ivf. And poss @Chooklass too? I'm really hoping to do round 1 IVF in Oct whilst I'm still in between jobs but I bet the nhs cycle won't be that quick. And I found out our ccg withdraws funding if you've funded a cycle privately. So I guess we are at the mercy of the nhs system. @Chooklass you must be soo frustrated. The treats sound like a good plan. I endorse Queer Eye on netflix for a super trashy pick me up.

Chooklass · 30/07/2018 12:52

Sorry @LexieJean and @Pinkemi 🙁. It's just so shit isn't it!

I'm having a really sore, heavy FP to make things worse this month. Going shopping on lunch break to cheer myself up! Be kind to yourselves yammers! ❤️

LexieJean · 30/07/2018 11:02

Urgh grey Monday and finally FP starts.

I wish I could cheer us all up! But I can’t.

Pinkemi · 30/07/2018 10:50

Hi All.

FP due on Friday and Im getting symptoms of her arrival. :(

Have been in contact with a local private IVF clinic to try and find out a bit more information, such as how much time they think I would need to take off work.. costs etc etc.

Feeling pretty deflated I have to be honest. Diet has gone completely out the window again and I just feel overwhelmed with everything.

Trying to get my emotions back in check! Sorry to be such a Debbie Downer. lol

LexieJean · 29/07/2018 13:27

Hell yeah @chooklass we’re overdue some positivity!

Glad you’re feeling a bit better.

Chooklass · 29/07/2018 11:51

Yeah @LexieJean, it's just so tough some days! Also need to shop for two new baby presents! I'm feeling better already though - venting on here really does help sometimes Smile

About time there were some more yammer bfps to give us all hope!!

LexieJean · 29/07/2018 11:32

Oh @chooklass that’s so annoying- why do all the shitty timings happen when you’re TTC?! Enjoy the treats you’ve got lined up and look after yourself. After having high hopes all week (much as I tried not to) I’ve had cramps for a few days and my friend’s boy 1st birthday yesterday. Great timing. That was fun. When we arrived I was the only non mother but thank god some others arrived later.

Chooklass · 29/07/2018 10:41

Ugh, well ... HSG didn't work it's magic. FP arrived this morning. I tried not to get my hopes up but it's so difficult when even the nurses at the hospital keep saying 'loads of women get pregnant straight after this!'. And, to make things worse, we were supposed to have our follow up fertility appt next week (after waiting 5 months since last one) and got a letter saying it's been rescheduled to Nov!! WTF. After having lots of tests etc to focus on for the last 4/5 months we just have nothing now until Nov and it's overwhelming! Think today is the lowest point of my TTC journey so far.

Sorry for the woeful rant, need to get it out. Going to treat my self to all the lovely treats today - gin, cake, netflix, online shopping!! Then pull myself together tomorrow and carry on GinCakeSmile

LexieJean · 28/07/2018 09:12

Sounds like an emotional rollercoaster @dino good luck with the tests and US. And of course the sexy time.

Stomach cramps for me yesterday and this morning. FP must be on the way. I consoled myself last night with a cheese board and wine.

BGDino · 28/07/2018 01:54

@Books @LexieJean @teacher it’s such a big thing to wrap your head around, I think I actually went through the five stages of grief (denial/anger/bargaining/depression/acceptance... ok maybe I’m not quite at acceptance) when it was confirmed I’d need some form of fertility treatment

I’m on day 11(?) of an ovulation induction cycle - I started 7 days of progesterone on 18/7 to bring on a bleed, and I started 5 days of letrozole yesterday. Then I have a blood test on Friday (3/8) to see where I’m at, I think after that it’s more regular bloods and also US to see how the follicles are growing... at some point we’ll get the “you should do the sexy” text from the fertility nurses...

The drugs are definitely working... crazy mood swings... going from happy to depressed to irritable as fuck... on Thursday I pretty much lost my shit at my new/old boss (I’ve worked for him before this job)... not good and I’m lucky he’s the sweetest, most understanding man who knows what’s happening...

LexieJean · 25/07/2018 22:37

I agree with @books @teacher Its daunting starting but it’s been over a year for us since we started having tests done so there’s no harm in having yourselves looked at.

Thanks @books I’m trying to stay calm and not turn myself inside out with wondering and hoping! I hope you guys are doing ok talking through the (really shitty) stats of ivf and which path you might be heading down.
