Thought I would start a thread as I'm getting quite excited/ nervous now!
I have 9 days until AF is due so planning on starting TTC after that. Will be baby no.2 for me but I had my first quite young so there will be a 6 year age gap approx! I fell pregnant with my first after missing a few contraception pills so I just know I'm going to be pretty disappointed if it doesn't happen straight away this time. Although I know it's unlikely to happen in the first month!

Good luck everyone! I'm CD4 now - hopefully last day of withdrawal bleed then let's begin TTC! I've got some ovulation tester strips from a friend, not sure if I should use this first month or just go with the flow?

Melbabes6 · 06/06/2018 19:32

I am TTC #2 who is now 3 years old! Fell pregnant whilst on the pill last time...altho I did miss 1 or 2 pills from the pack...oops!!!

Overly excited and dreading it at the same time, thanks to Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Fingers crossed it's mild!

First month trying and will be ovulating next week.

Hi guys!

We've just started ttc #5 and will hopefully add #6 to our family shortly after.

I've haven't used any birth control other than natural family planning for 10 years so I'm pretty clued up on my cycles which I've been logging for years, however I put some weight on last year and this has caused my periods to vary in length from between 28-42 days, I've since lost the weight and my last cycles were 32,41,40,32 days my last period was on 20 May and I'm currently on cycle day 18, we've been 'trying' since last Friday and will continue until next week as my fertile window is predicted as day 21 on the app I use.

Both dh and I are so excited 😆 even though we've already done it four times previously, we've been thinking about it for a while and both agreed that if we didn't try we'd regret it once it's too late, as I'm heading towards 40 and dh got there a while ago! I'm not expecting to succeed first try but it'll be fun!

LuckyKitty13 · 06/06/2018 13:23

Hello! I'm also TTC our first, cycle one. Finished the pill last week, no withdrawal bleed yet, but also not DTD either since stopping so no chance of a surprise sudden pregnancy! Need to get on it so to speak!

RobynC19 · 06/06/2018 07:51

Day four of flashing smiley I'm starting to dislike the flashing smiley lol x

RobynC19 · 05/06/2018 16:30

I would also like a surprise positive at the end of this cycle even though I no it's very unlikely x

CrossedToTheDarkSide · 05/06/2018 15:48

Are they like pregnancy tests (as in do you use a new one each time- trying to budget better what with hoping to have a baby on the way and so worrying I would spend a fortune on them if you have to buy enough for one a day for like a week or more!!) Yes definitely, fingers crossed we will both be soon and it would be so lovely to follow other people’s journeys on here who get BFP around the same time. Being very wishful with how soon I want it to happen I know!! Confused

RobynC19 · 05/06/2018 14:15

I have also been on birth control for 10 years first time I have stopped. You just take a test every morning around when you think ovulation would be and it tells you weather you have low high or peak fertility. Still waiting for a peak result well I hope we both conceive quickly Xx

CrossedToTheDarkSide · 05/06/2018 13:26

@RobynC19 I’ve been off the pill a week and literally now having the same! Arrived last night/ this morning and never been so excited to get my period. Even if it is just a withdrawal bleed. Lol. Same as you I stopped mid-pack as soon as OH said he thought we should start trying. How does the clear blue ovulation monitor work? Really tempted to get one and also really tempted not to incase I start stressing. But feel like it might help me feel a bit more in tune with my body and when things are happening as been on the pill about 9 years and not had periods in forever!

I had a really short withdrawal bleed like 5 days after stopping the pill I did stop mid pack though cause as soon as the OH said he wanted to start trying I didn't need to be asked twice. I classed that as start of the cycle I'm on CD 13 and have had two high fertility readings on my clear blue ovulation monitor, still waiting for my peak though that's if I have one. I'm also getting excited then having to tell my self it's only been three weeks since stopping the pill and I probs will have to wait many months. Stopping the pill I have felt better skin was bad for a week but settling down now and my sex drive has greatly improved I hope you have a speedy TTC journey x

CrossedToTheDarkSide · 04/06/2018 20:49

Hey everyone, hope I can join in too! First month of TTC #1 and omg I get so excited one day and then tell myself off as I know I will be so disappointed if it takes a while. Came off my pill a week ago and DTD most days since... No AF yet and omg I actually want it to arrive now. First time i’ve ever wished it would happen. Goodluck everyone. What did everyone find cycles like going back to normal after coming off the pill?

lapenguin · 03/06/2018 07:52

First af after coming off the pill arrived yesterday! Am due to be going camping at the end of this month so there's two reasons to not want af to arrive next time xD

Kittymumma · 02/06/2018 23:34

Hi all hope you don't mind me joining in. Me and DH are TTC our first baby Grin. Had a visit from AF 2 days ago so starting cycle 4 and using the advanced CBFM for the 2nd cycle. Is anyone else using this and what cycle is everyone on?.. Also I find now I'm trying to have a baby everyone is pregnant or has a baby Hmm I am getting baby envy..

RobynC19 · 01/06/2018 09:14

Feeling really tired and sicky today I think this might be side effects from coming off the pill as I have been doing ovulation tests every day since my withdrawal bleed and all negative so far. On CD 10 so fingers crossed might get a positive ovulation test I think I would feel better just knowing my fertility had come back after birth control even if I don't catch this month Bear

Chel1888 · 01/06/2018 03:15

Hi everyone. Starting TTC this month which is quite exciting. Have started taking seven seas trying for a baby vitamins. Hoping not to obsess too much and relax but that's easier said than done lol #2 for me with massive age gap and first time actually trying Smile good luck everyone

Lavenderlove · 31/05/2018 20:28

@MrsDilligaf good luck! I've also missed my window of opportunity this month. Really hope it happens soon for you, sounds like you have a positive attitude and aren't getting stressed about it which I'm sure will help!

@Wifelife think that's a good plan about the relaxed approach. I got my mirena coil taken out in march and have been obsessed with tracking my cycles since then! Don't want tracking to cause TTC to become too organised and not fun. Good luck!

Lavenderlove · 31/05/2018 20:20

@edinbeezer sorry about your mmc. Glad your cycle has returned to normal! I'm due in a few days and I'm looking forward to it to as it means I can start TTC after it haha. Good luck!

OP posts:
Lavenderlove · 31/05/2018 20:17

@RobynC19 good luck! I hope it happens quickly for us both. AF due on your birthday is bad enough but when you're TTC it would be doubly disappointing!

MrsDilligaf · 31/05/2018 17:51

We will be starting on the TTC path very very soon. We've missed the window of opportunity for this month (CD 16 of a 26/27 day cycle) so its all systems go.

I've been taking EPO and pre-natal vits for a few months and while we've not exactly been careful we do have to focus.

Three years ago at 41, I fell pregnant first month of trying (after a year long break from TTC) & DD is 27 months. Obviously this time round I'm a lot older but taking a pragmatic approach....if it happens again, within a year then wahoooo! If not, we have a gorgeous DD and that was all we wished for. Having 2 DC will be astounding at our age because we're a pair of old gimmers Grin

Wifelife · 31/05/2018 17:41

First month TTC - so excited!

No clue when I’m ovulating as I’ve had really irregular cycles since I started tracking at the start of the year - but it’s currently day 15 of my cycle so I’m hoping the optimum time is around now (Pre-tracking I’ve always been like clockwork so I think the change was stress related, doctor told me to delete the app I was using to track and just go with the flow and not worry... so fingers crossed that works!)

Trying to take a relaxed approach, lots of sex and trying not get my hopes up for an instant BFP - easier said than done!

Good luck ladies Flowers
