Can't quite believe I've just written that title...after a lot of indecision DH and I have decided to see where fate takes us. So we're not obsessively trying, but I know generally when I ovulate so we'll DTD around that time. Tbh we're still not 100% convinced we'd cope with three, but sometimes you have to take a leap of faith.

I've been thinking about it constantly and our ages mean it's now or never. We adore our 2 DC's and if that's what we're meant to have we'll be very happy, but if fate has other ideas, we're up for the challenge!

About to start AF and then off we go Smile

We've just changed our car, we aren't actually ttc number 3 until next year but our finance deal was up on the car so we have done some forward planning and gone big now. We spent ages trying to find something that fits 3 car seats, that isn't a bus, for south of 30k. We went for the new Peugeot 5008 SUV. Have to say despite the branding (it pained my husband buying a Peugeot) it's fab. Only had it a few days but it's huge, has 7 seats with 3 full seats/isofix points in the middle row.

Megs87 · 18/06/2018 21:17

We have a qashqai and although we can fit 3 car seats in the back I'm not sure it's the safest.

@GruffaloPants hope AF doesn't arrive for you tomorrow

@NoseringGirl fingers crossed for tomorrow

I'm CD8 had loads of watery CM yesterday then today loads of ewcm, opk is still negative and I don't think I can be ov'ing this early. Do I wait until tomorrow to start DTD every other day? I typically have a 26 day cycle.

@Wingingit3211 I couldn't cope every other day for 35 days 🙈 wahoo well done for DS2, I might need to give it a try. How old is he?

UntilTheVeryEnd 5weeks is so long to wait so frustrating isn't it

GruffaloPants · 18/06/2018 18:47

Congratulations Muffin!

I'm about 11dpo today, period due tomorrow. Usually I'd have tested by now, but I'm feeling a bit cautious. Had an early miscarriage last month. Don't really want to get a positive test then start bleeding again...

Wingingit3211 · 18/06/2018 18:37

We’ll need to get a new car too. I’ve almost finished my period, not sure when I ovulate and o don’t think ovulation strips are there great in pcos so we pretty much have to have sex every other day until my period comes. So last month that was for about 35 days, it’s a bit bloody much! In other news the chocolate bribe seems to be working with ds2, he’s done 3 full nights without waking us up and 1 night where he came into us and was resettlednback in his own bed. Whoop!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 18/06/2018 18:07

Forgot to say - there are a couple threads on the larger families bit of mumsnet that discuss car options for 3+ which I found immensely helpful. Maybe worth a look @Megs87

UntilTheVeryEnd · 18/06/2018 18:01

We have an Audi A4 sline which is lovely but very tight in the back so we will also be changing as well. We have all the ones @NoseringGirl mentioned as well as the Grand Senic and a Skoda one I can’t tem the same Off... DH is a car whore and won’t look past luxury brands 🙄 but some of his preferences wouldn’t work budget wise. I’m happy to take a lesser brand for the space but we will have to see.

Eeek I wish I was Waiting to test - my app to remove my coil was tomorrow but was cancelled so I’m in the dreaded 5ww until I can start trying.
I hope you get your BFP - so excited for those testing xx

NoseringGirl · 18/06/2018 16:37

We're currently shopping for a new car. We've got a Mercedes A150 which is lovely but tiny. I'm thinking either Ford S-Max, C4 Grande Picasso, VW Touran or a Land Rover Discovery SUV. The last one is probably out of our price range though! Interested to hear what cars everyone else has!

I'm 8DPO today and desperate to test. Might crack out an internet cheapie in the morning even though it's almost certainly too early.

Megs87 · 18/06/2018 16:13

How is everyone today?

I think I am building up to ov, OPKs are still faint but I had so much watery cm yesterday I thought I had peed myself!

Also out of interest, what cars do you all have? I'm trying to work out if we can get away without changing xx

Megs87 · 17/06/2018 15:25

@Muffin7 many congratulations! Hopefully you can get in for an early scan :) xx

Wingingit321 · 16/06/2018 20:52

Ahh congrats muffin!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 16/06/2018 08:09

Congratulations @Muffin7 that’s just amazing news! Totally understandable freak out - everyone needs a holy shit moment! Have a cuppa and breathe... it’s a happy day xx

MadeForThis · 16/06/2018 01:13

Congratulations!!

Muffin7 · 15/06/2018 22:17

Thanks both, really appreciate your replies. After speaking to a friend today I am going to ring the EPU on Monday to enquire about a reassurance scan, apparently our local unit do these for people thay have suffered a loss. I'm also trying to keep busy. I think I'm probably just over thinking, hopefully the third will slot right in and we will crack on with being a family of 5. Thanks again, I do really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

LittleTipple · 15/06/2018 21:37

Hooray, congratulations @Muffin7! I can completely understand your terror, but I'm sure once the shock has worn off, you'll find a place of calm. I remember wondering how I'd cope with 2 and now realise that you just adapt and get on with it. I know it will be hard, but try and find some time for yourself and think lots of positive thoughts Smile

Congratulations @Muffin7! Sounds like a normal and understandable reaction! Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy. Hope the calm takes over when the news sinks in Thanks

Muffin7 · 15/06/2018 20:49

So it appears DC3 is on their way, got my bfp yesterday, and now all of a sudden I'm terrified! What if something goes wrong (miscarried in March)? And how the heck will I cope with 3!?!? Someone calm me down, please.

sambababy · 15/06/2018 19:48

I thought you ladies might enjoy reading this: www.thatmumblog.co.uk/three-kids/to-three-or-not-to-three/

LittleTipple · 15/06/2018 12:29

Hey ladies, luckily we're not too bad sleep wise. DC1 sleeps in own bed and despite a bit of looking out the window to start with, stays there all night. DS2 still in a cot, so would move after baby came. I'm concerned about car seats/cars, so trying to get some good research done for if/when the time comes.

Update wise, I still feel off, with lots of lower backache and a warming sensation around my hips. Also had weird twitch/pulsing on left side. I really don't think our one chance only timing was right and have no idea when I ovulated, so not reading too much into it. Although of course symptom spotting means you are aware of every twinge in your body!

Baby dust to all xx

The chocolate bribe did t work! Ds1 also came in at 5. It’s musical beds in this house

NoseringGirl · 14/06/2018 21:45

We have the same DS2 issues! The only way we got DS1 staying in his bed all night was by having DS2. A baby waking him up repeatedly was much worse than staying in his own bed.
Probably not a sustainable long term plan, just keep having babies!

Wingingit321 · 14/06/2018 18:31

I told DS2 that If he stays in his own bed all night tonight he can have a chocolate bar after breakfast 😂 I’m getting desperate. He needs a couple of days of instant rewards before we go onto star charts . He goes down at 1830-1846 and wakes anywhere between 9-11 to get into our bed. Doesn’t require anything, just wants to sleep with us. He says he just wants a hug. I wouldn’t mind but he’s recently started snoring so badly I’m not getting enough sleep!

Megs87 · 14/06/2018 18:23

We are trying to get DS2 into his own bed all night too. He goes down then wakes about 1 and wants to be in bed with us. I'm on a prenatal multivitamin and we have been to look at a bigger house. Ours is fine for the first few years but downstairs won't be big enough for 3 bigger kids.

Wingingit321 · 14/06/2018 17:30

We are trying to get DS2 who is 3 into his own bed all night. Also have some decorating to finish off.
Period def on its way, spotting, in pain and usual Eugh feeling. To be honest I’m ok with it now, it’s worse with long cycles when you know you aren’t pregnant but have to wait to come on to move on to the next month.
This months plan (month 6 I believe !) no booze, inositol, start taking zinc with my folic acid (pre Natals make me feel sick, think it’s the iron in there) and look into a low GI diet.

UntilTheVeryEnd · 14/06/2018 17:16

@LittleTipple I tried phoning the sexual health clinic is my nearest city (45miles away) but they were really snotty and said my GP had to refer me and would be at least 6-8 weeks. Best of sticking with my GP but it is so frustrating - DH said everything happens for a reason so there is obviously we are not meant to conceive in July.

@GruffaloPants that defo sounds like good prep for baby... we are making several preparations including an Home extension to make bedroom 3/4 (altho I’m telling everyone bedroom 4 is going to be my study 😬) I REALLY need to start thinking about moving DS onto his toddler bed in preparation but since DC 3 won’t be conceived for at the very least another 6 weeks 😔 we still have lots of time to get the cot back hahaha
I’m also taking folic acid and vit d in preparation for my impending impregnation

What about everyone else?

GruffaloPants · 14/06/2018 16:36

Anyone making any changes to prepare for hopefully having a DC3?

I am trying to improve bedtime/get the kids down earlier. Working towards DD1 going to sleep alone, and DD2 going to sleep in cot rather than feeding to sleep. Last night went well, so I guess tonight won't!
