Anyone else trying for DC3?!

I must say that both DS are good sleepers. DS1 (2.5) started sleeping through at 10 weeks and DS2 (5 months) at 11 weeks. Barring illness they do 12-13 hours and we are normally up before them. This is one thing I have on my side when weighing up a third. I don't think I can do the HG again though 🙁

@sambababy tiredness is just a killer - I have been really lucky with my two since they were little really... altho my DD, now almost 4, no longer sleeps through and gets up due to nightmares, so she often ends up in our bed. I do try and put her back but sometimes I’m just so tired that I give in... not the right thing to do I know so I do understand! Have absolutely no advice but a hand to hold x

@sambababy DS1 was a terrible sleeper but is brilliant now he's 4. He woke up early today but took himself downstairs and got a drink and watched some cartoons before we came down. DS2 was slightly better but is 18 months and going through awful sleep at the moment. He had been sleeping really well in his bed but doesn't want to sleep on his own at the moment. He also wakes frequently. Not really sure why I'm wanting to do this to myself again 🙈

Thanks @Megs87. @DeltaG yes it's a different language here. I'd say I know enough to get by, I've been here a few years, but I'm hopeless at small talk even in English and the language barrier hasn't helped things. It is what it is though.

I'm just curious if anyone's DC1 or 2 don't sleep through most of the time? I think I was lucky with DD, she slept through from about 15 months (until age 3-4 when she came in our bed every night). DS still wakes on average twice a night at 2 years old. I'm not sure how I would cope with pregnancy when I'm starting off this tired!

@sambababy the isolation is definitely hard, we lived in Cyprus when DS1 arrived and as lovely as it was to be out there I missed family more so once DS1 arrived and it's difficult without the support network isn't it. Hopefully you come to a decision that suits you as a family :)

PCOS sounds rough ladies

@Wingingit3211 I was just wondering whether they'd done all the blood tests or if it was based on there being cysts on your ovaries. The diagnosis process seems to vary a lot!

@noseringgirl I was diagnosed at 18 after having very irregular periods. Had scans which showed pcos.

@mondaycando1 nice to have you with us! The nearest clinic is 40 odd miles away, I did phone to try them but they would have been longer than my GP. I was waiting 3 weeks then a few days before my app they phoned to cancel so been waiting 5 weeks the app is next Tuesday so it’s in sight, thank god! This waiting milarky is no fun especially when you jolly well just want to get jiggy with it!

@UntilTheVeryEnd ahh just the small matter of getting upduffed! I think the car might've been the easy part. So exciting that the coil removal is so close! Eek! I also agree that 28 is definitely spring chicken territory, I'm 35!!

I imagine that isolation can be a real problem. I work and I think it has really helped with this aspect of living abroad. Do you speak the language there? Having a language barrier adds to it. Fortunately I'm fluent in French now and DH is French so he obviously has no issues with the language!

The fact that our families are in different countries does mean there is nobody to fall back on for childcare and adding more DC to the mix will only make this more difficult!

Untiltheveryend - do you have a family planning clinic near you, they might be able to take the coil out sooner. My GP did it same day when I went in to talk about random bleeding I was getting.

Sneaked over from the over 40 thread but after a few months of coil and bleeding issues after 7 years of having it in, it's now out.

My period has just only lasted 4 days but I guess that's just readjustment? I will be mid cycle just as children finish school so wondering how we're going to find time / energy over the summer holidays?!!

All the practical parts of me say trying at 44 with a 7 & 8 year old is ludicrous but we've decided to not bother with contraception and see what happens. Scared and excited!!

@MidwifeMummy161 I am so sorry to hear that your husband passed away but it’s fantastic that you have found love again and want to TTC! It must be so hard being a midwife and watching all the ladies giving birth while TTC - I’m getting broody watching Highland Midwife. I feel I must say that you are by no means old! I say this as I am 28 in a few months and if you are old then so am I! let’s just agree that we are both spring chickens eh?

@sambababy £2k for flights is an extortion! No wonder you are hesitant...

@DeltaG I'm in a slightly similar position. We live in my husband's country so we have help from his mum but there's nothing by way of things to do with children mon-fri so being a SAHM I have really struggled mentally with isolation, boredom & loneliness. It's one of the things holding me back from ttc #3. I really get the expense with going to visit family and travelling! It's costing us £2k in flights to go to the uk for Christmas this year It's the first time we're paying for my 2 year old.

Congrats to the ladies who got bfp's and positive thoughts to the rest of you! I'll be ovulating this week but think I'm going to wait another month while I deliberate some more arrrrgggghhhh

Hi there I am also ttc #3.
I’m 28 and have a 7yo boy and 6yo girl from my first husband who passed away 2.5 years ago! I am marrying my second chance at love next month and we decided life’s too short and we both always said we’d like to have a child together so we decided to try. This is my first cycle trying and I’m currently 8dpo. I got pregnant very quickly with my first two but as this is a different partner, he doesn’t have any children and I’m a bit older than when I conceived my older two, I’m quite apprehensive! I’m also a midwife so it is super tough being surrounded by pregnant mums and babies all day at work when I’m desperate for that myself, fingers crossed for a quick conception xx

MONDAY.

I watch my carb intake and loosely follow low GI. I was very strict with low GI when TTC DS2 and also had metformin. It seems under better control since then. I reckon my sugar intake was too high during that anovulatory month recently and it had an impact.
How were you diagnosed with PCOS? Might be worth trying low GI, I think you can still have the insulin resistance which has the knock on effect with your hormones even if you're a healthy weight.

Do you do anything to control you pcos @noseringgirl? I’ve heard lots of things like
Low GI diet and weight loss can help but my bmi is 20 so that’s not going to help me. I don’t look like I have pcos, none of the other symptoms just stupid periods! It does make me wonder whether any of the diets or supplements would help or not .

Plenty of time @Wingingit3211! PCOS is a pain in the arse though. I'm 35 and this is the first time since I came off birth control in 2011 that I've had regular cycles. I'm constantly worrying that my body will suddenly stop working again though. I've had one anovulatory cycle since I started tracking a few months ago and I was convinced my PCOS was winning again. Seems to have been a one off though! I definitely recommend temping to get a better idea of if and when you're ovulating.

@noseringgirl yeah I thought that. Maybe I have one duff ovary?! No sign of period today so who knows what’s going on. Bloody pcos. At least it’s summer and I can drink, and I’m still young (30) so I have time on my side. Just frustrating
