Sorry to add a bit of a me, me, me thread. I’m new here, that’s my excuse Wink

Last month I had an earlier than expected period by about 4 or 5 days (have been on the implant for 6 years before I got it removed in December, a few months after it ‘ran out’) but I’ve been using the Glow App and given that if my cycles are regulating to something similar to last month, I’d have ovulated around the 4th of May (didn’t opk as we were away on a little anniversary holiday. And this was going to be a less obsessive month... worked out well, obviously) but my app is still saying that I will have ovulated on the 9th May.

I tested on the 8th and 9th and got two strong positives, we’ve dtd every other day except for these two days where we got busy on both days but this is when I ran out of OPKs so not sure if the positives would have carried on. I’ve read that they can detect pregnancy sometimes but even given that I could have ovulated on the 4th, could those positives be too early to be picking up the pregnancy hormones?

Anyway, my boobs are sore, I’ve been dry retching all morning, Friday night I had faint period like cramps and my back has been in agony since Tuesday. If I blow my nose it bleeds and on Thursday I spent the day at my desk holding back tears for absolutely no reason. This morning I also had some creamy discharge in my pants (sorry for the overshare) when I went to pee, never usually have anything in my pants until the dreaded blob comes. But these symptoms seem a bit early if I did ovulate on the 9th but not so much on the 4th?

Pregnancy tests scare the life out of me, I can’t handle rejection apparently haha! I’ve got one sitting in my drawer but I don’t want to waste it, because if I’m going off symptoms and google, I’ve been pregnant for the last few months.

So, following on from the ramble above, when should I test because I don’t really know when to expect AF. Should I follow my symptoms or my app? Ohhhh the mindf*ckery of trying to conceive.

@Hotdamndiggitydam thank you!!

Hotdamndiggitydam · 23/05/2018 20:02

Ohh good luck! I’ve had months where I thought maybe I am but this one was I was ‘knew’ straight off the bat. I still had a few doubting moments but my first test was negative and I just threw it in the bin and carried on because knew it was lying to me, then it came gradually. It’s actually the first month I dare take a pregnancy test since I got a negative last August 😂. So 100% listen to your body, if you’re feeling it there’s a good chance. Fingers crossed for you!

@Hotdamndiggitydam thanks lovely. :) I'm literally just started out. Very nervous. Took a pregnancy test as I have and so many symptoms and doc said to but said was a high chance of negative which is was as I'm only 7dpo! X

Hotdamndiggitydam · 23/05/2018 19:25

Hi Delilah. Thank you! I started with the one step internet cheapies. Started 8dpo (I think) and did a Morrison’s cheapie this morning and the clear blue digital this evening (should be 14 dpo but also 2-3 weeks so not sure on that one)

We started not not trying in around May last year, my implant ran out early May but didn’t have it taken out until Dec, it took months to get to the removal appointment at my doctors. We avoided my fertile window jan - march as I’d started a new job then actively tried since. So kind of on and off for a year, but I’m convinced my implant didn’t stop working when it was ready for removal.

Hi ladies. Hope you don't mind. @Hotdamndiggitydam congratulations! Which pregnancy test did you use first time round? how exciting. Have you been trying for a while? X

Thank you so much. And thanks for your help too! Hope you have the best pregnancy too! 😁

I don’t think hubby quite believes it yet, so I think I’ll wait until my period is actually due and get a digital. He better believe it if it’s in black and white 😂.

Yay :)! Fingers crossed for you a happy healthy rest of pregnancy and a nice line. Dont fixate on them though i was aboit 24dpo when i got a line as dark as control xx

Hotdamndiggitydam · 20/05/2018 11:18

I held my pee since about half 5 this morning waiting for Tesco to open, walked in with my legs platted. No FRERs. 😩

I thought I’m not holding pee for nothing so tried one of the cheapies again because I drink more at night so thought my pee might be more concentrated now. Got what I think is the boldest line yet.

I think my fear of testing has gone out of the window now haha.

The others when they have dried (which I know you should throw them out after 10 minutes) are SO faint that I couldn’t convince myself but this line actually seems pink. And I’ve not had to hold in the window to see something.

There's still something on that test though! They do take a while to get darker xx

When to test
RLOU88 · 20/05/2018 06:33

Get a FRER, it will be positive going by that test. Mine was identical and doesn’t always get much darker on them throwaways it really depends on the amount of dye in some of them. Good luck!

leanne9312 · 20/05/2018 06:24

I would try one because sometimes the cheap tests went as sensitive as they make out!

Hotdamndiggitydam · 20/05/2018 05:44

Thank you! My boobs just feel like they could explode! They used to get sore when I had the implant but fairly sure since having it removed they’ve not. They definitely didn’t last month because it was how convinced myself I wasn’t pregnant. Now though. 💣💣

Here’s this morning’s test. I think I expected the boldest of lines so I’m feeling quite disappointed. I want to buy a FRER but only if it’s going to be positive. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

Thankyou :) that was also my first symptom! Don't need to pee more now but was worse the day I got my bfp also my boobs looked like road maps they were very veiny!! Fingers are crossed for you xx

Hotdamndiggitydam · 19/05/2018 15:43

Ohh congrats Leanne! That’s good to hear, I really want to re-test but I’m peeing every 10 minutes so will have to wait until the morning haha.

Thanks for looking LMJ. I’m hoping I can get a BF!!!p soon. So I can start to believe it 😂

Lmj25 · 19/05/2018 15:11

I can see a line on that test! X

xLeanne128 · 19/05/2018 15:09

I'm 9 weeks now and have had period cramps all the way through most people get them when they get there bfp but think it can't be because of af type cramps. Test in the morning with fmu or hold for 3/4 hours to confirm! Xx

Hotdamndiggitydam · 19/05/2018 14:46

I’ve been so convinced that this is the month, now I have that I’m petrified it’s not going to be and that I was just seeing things. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I’ve had faint cramps all day that are playing with my mind.

Fingers crossed though!

xLeanne128 · 19/05/2018 11:14

There is defo something on that test! That's what my first positive looked like!!! X

Hotdamndiggitydam · 19/05/2018 07:09

So, it turns out my app probably was right and I ovulated around the time of my positive OPKs, probably shouldn’t doubt science... so today is 10DPO if all is right in terms of that.

Been testing for the last couple of days with cheapies and got this today. What do you ladies think?

Hi Buntyll, how long after the positive OPK did you get your positive pregnancy test?

OP posts:
BuntyII · 13/05/2018 10:32

When I got pregnant with DS I conceived on Tuesday (confirmed by scan) and on Friday Saturday and Sunday had very strong positive OPKs. A few people on that bus reported similar
