OPK, cm and ovulation help

I have short cycles of 25 days. Was on the pill until December but my cycle seems to have settled now.

First month I'm using OPKs. I'm cd8 today and read that I should start today. Barely there line, to be expected I think as I think my luteal phase is 11-12 days (guessing as not done temp or used OPK before)

But, I have ovulation cramps, had ewcm this morning and just been to the toilet and now have stretchy / watery cm (stretched about 1.5cm)

I'm going to start temping tomorrow (thermometer only arrived today). But what's going on? Am I gearing up to ovulate in the next couple of days or not?

I use ovia and it's predicting fertile week is next Monday but I feel like it's going to be sooner than that. Might explain why I've not had a sniff of a line these last few months! Help!

Fingers crossed @VenusStarr then...... I'm eating pineapple core every morning as heard that's supposed to help with implantation🤞🏻

Due AF 10/06 so it's just the waiting game now!!xx

@VenusStarr Yes it really is, lets hope we all get good news this time round! Oh god I hope so and I hope the results don't take too long, they said to allow up to 2 weeks. Are you looking forward to seeing about your acupuncture?

Are any of you going to try anything different? I've tried preseed, the works but still nothing! xx

It's frustrating when we think we're doing things right and it's not happening. Hope your DH gets on OK today and the results are all good @Tinker315b x

Just had another look at your chart @babyhopeful2018 I think your ❤ were timed pretty well with your ovulation. When are you expecting AF? x

@babyhopeful2018 Not too long then, it’s just soo frustrating. I’m only cycle 5 and still no luck, been trying since the start of Jan! I really struggle even with the every other day in my fertile window, tried every day 2 months ago and it near killed us both lol! Ovulation is the lower temp just before the rise x

Came off the pill Feb and been TTC so this is cycle #4. DH is working late this month and is mega tired when he comes home so haven't had a lot of BD this month unfortunately 😔

Hoping the ❤️s have been well timed this month.

Do you know what temp you mark ovulation on a chart?! Is it the first higher one?!xx

@VenusStarr please may this be our month! I don’t think I can cope anymore with the disappointment 😔 Hubby is getting his SA tomorrow so fingers crossed it comes back ok, think the results take up to 2 weeks. There’s just nothing more we can do we have been going everything right! X

@babyhopeful2018 yea I think as long as there are at least 3 temps rises that confirms ovulation! How long have you been ttc? X

We are like twins! @Mistymeow :) I've stocked up on some cheap opks today. I've always had 35 in my head as the line when it starts to get serious but no real reason or foundation in that. It's reassuring your doctor has said that.

Fingers crossed your blood tests are all OK. I've not spoken to the GP yet, I figured they'd just send me away as not been trying long enough. My birthday is in a couple of months so will book to see the doctor then if we're having no luck. My husband is very relaxed about it all but I'm someone who likes to be in control and so ttc is very much out of my comfort zone! It's good to have these boards to speak to people in a similar situation, we haven't told anyone that we're trying, have you?

Thank you @VenusStarr I'm on cd5 so we are practically twins! My af stopped yesterday, it's lighter because I had an ERPC procedure 4 weeks prior so I expected the lining wasn't quite as built up. I'll try the opk from cd8 too. Glad I bought cheap opks, could get costly!

I'm also nearly 35 and my gp said that far too much importance is placed on the whole turning 35 thing and it causes people a lot of unecessary stress. I'm going to be having the fertility blood tests soon to make sure all is ok on my side. We already know about my husband's low sperm/motility so I'm hoping there isn't any more issues on my side.

Hi @Mistymeow I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage. What cycle day are you on? I'm cd6 so started temping again today and will use opk from cd8. My surge was really quick and short last month so will do a couple a day. I've got an acupuncture consultation on Friday. I'm nearly 35 so feeling a bit anxious about it all and want to give us the best possible chance.

Hi,

Hope you don't mind me jumping in but I also have a shorter cycle (usually 25 days) and ovulate early (cd11 or 12). The cycle I conceived I got EWCM from cd7 so we dtd from that day until cd12. Sadly we had a miscarriage and I've just had my first af since, which seemed to arrive on time. It's going to be my first time using opks so I'm still learning! My husband has a fertility issue which can be treated, although he has been off treatment since I was pregnant, so I'm trying to give us our best chance possible each month! I'm also temping although because of the miscarriage I think it will only be from this month that I will get more accurate readings.

Hi @babyhopeful2018 I'm not an expert as only started last month but I think it looks like you have ovulated. Your temps aren't massively different but you have had 3 temperature rises which I think indicates ovulation.

How long have you been ttc? I came off the pill in December but no luck yet. Fingers crossed for you this month :) x

Morning All

Just wondering if any of you could help?! This is my first proper month charting.

I've attached a copy of my bbt chart. I tested for ov using opk and had strong positive day 12/13 however my temp has never had the 'spike' im looking for. However my temp is rising every day?

Does that mean I haven't ovulated this month?!

Any help greatly appreciated xx

Yes but according to my doctor there normal but I don’t think they are. Yea 10 days is ok but I’m spotting from 8dpo which isn’t good. Hopefully this is our month coming Smile x

Hi @Tinker315b I'm sorry to hear that. Good that your bloods are normal but raises more questions for you then! I think 10 days is OK for LP, did your bloods check the levels of progesterone? I've read there is a cream you can use if it's low.
I'm OK, cd4 already, will be ovulating next week (I hope!) looking forward to my consultation x

Hey. Yes ok. AF started today, so disappointed each month! Got day 21 bloods back yesterday and doctor said there normal but from researching I think there low and I’ve had another 10 day LP with spotting also, which to me is still too short. How are you? X

Got my fingers crossed for you @Tinker315b. I've started light bleeding now :( so my cycles are between 23-25 days but at least I know I'm ovulating and that my luteal phase is average. Yes, keep me updated. I'll let you know how next week goes too :) x

@Tinker315b I'm not sure what temperature spikes mean. I hope the cramps are a positive sign for you. Regular reflexology sounds good too. I've just called and booked an acupuncture consultation for next Friday morning, there's a specialist clinic about 15 minutes from my work x

@VenusStarr Im going to try aim for every other week! Oh no, im 9dpo today and had a big temp rise yesterday morning out of the blue but then this morning it has went back down again to the day before so im quite confused as to why I had that spike. Im not sick or anything and it was taken in the exact same way as always, never had a temp that high before. But yesterday and today ive been having a few mild cramps so im expecting af as predicted on Saturday Sad. I'm sorry about the temp drop hopefully its not AF for you x

Hey @Tinker315b really pleased you had a better experience this time. How often sill you have it? I'm OK, temperature has dropped so not feeling that hopeful now, no sign of af and still very bloated. Going to wait til after the weekend, am due Friday / Saturday and if af arrives I'll book in for an acupuncture consultation x
