OPK, cm and ovulation help

I have short cycles of 25 days. Was on the pill until December but my cycle seems to have settled now.

First month I'm using OPKs. I'm cd8 today and read that I should start today. Barely there line, to be expected I think as I think my luteal phase is 11-12 days (guessing as not done temp or used OPK before)

But, I have ovulation cramps, had ewcm this morning and just been to the toilet and now have stretchy / watery cm (stretched about 1.5cm)

I'm going to start temping tomorrow (thermometer only arrived today). But what's going on? Am I gearing up to ovulate in the next couple of days or not?

I use ovia and it's predicting fertile week is next Monday but I feel like it's going to be sooner than that. Might explain why I've not had a sniff of a line these last few months! Help!

Excellent timing @BeautifulSlang :) fingers crossed for you.

I started the acupuncture with a fertility specialist and she recommended 6 sessions to start with. She said she was going to focus on the blood flow to my uterus and hopefully extend my cycle as it's short and my periods are light. I'm back again tonight. My temperatures this month are much better than last month but we only managed to dtd on cd6 as dh was poorly so am out this month I think. There's a tiny sliver of hope as ovulated on cd10. Will be interesting to see if my period is heavier.
I have seen a few people on here who started acupuncture and then got pregnant but don't really know how it works. It's definitely relaxing and as I've been getting stressed about it so I think that will be helpful for me. I'm also a lot less bloated this month. 11dpo today so not long to wait.

Your timing sounds good too @Tinker315b, glad the reflexology is helping you relax too. Fingers crossed for Friday x

@BeautifulSlang I am 4dpo today, temps still showing ovulation. Had reflexology yesterday evening so felt very relaxed and slept great! I dtd every day throughout my fertile window and on ovulation day and the day after also, but I don't think its worked as im getting the same cm as previous months. also got repeat bloods yesterday so I get the results on Friday x

So, according to my app and daily temps. I ovulate, woo hoo! Honestly though, wouldn't have known from any other signs. Just hope we've DTD at right timing. 2ww hell now 😣

@VenusStarr Do you mind me asking about your acupuncture? Are you having it to increase fertility? I don't know much about it at all.

I've actually given up on temping for now because I'm not ovulating (still getting back to normal after mc). The temping is kind of rubbing it in my face! I'll start again next cycle and hopefully things will be more settled. Good luck for this month everyone!

I know @VenusStarr Lol!! Ive the doctors for bloods tomorrow. I do think I have ovulated as my boobs are slightly tender since yesterday, tomorrow will tell the tale.

Yea I've come to the conclusion also, not to test as AF will be the answer and if its late then test! Negative tests cause a lot of upset x

Temping seems to raise more questions than it answers! @Tinker315b @BeautifulSlang and fingers crossed ovulation is confirmed for you both tomorrow.

I think af should arrive anytime between Wednesday and Saturday - if I did ovulate on 2nd June. Got no signs of anything yet. Normally I'm very bloated. My boobs are tender (when I poke them) 😂 could be another 10 days til af if I go by fertility friend but I've not had a cycle longer than 25 days since stopping the pill. Not tempted to test as there's no point! X

@BeautifulSlang Ah ok! Yea 3 higher temps indicate ovulation has occurred. It is so mentally draining! And the only reason why im temping this month is so I know when to make my app for my blood test again.

@Tinker315b This is the first cycle I've recorded temps and OPK's, so not entirely sure. What would the 3 high temps indicate? Ovulation has happened?

Sorry to hear we're all confused! @Tinker315b and @BeautifulSlang. I've got my acupuncture on Wednesday so going to ask her to look at my chart. Although it looks like a stable temperature rise, my chart is definitely better than last month so whatever the acupuncture does I think it's affected my temperature post ovulation in a good way. If I did ovulate on cd10 there is a tiny sliver of hope that it may have caught from dtd on cd6. But I'm focusing on the next cycle now. At least they are short (or have been) so u don't gave to wait too long. By the weekend I should be onto the next cycle. X

@BeautifulSlang Im not sure, maybe your ovulating late? When do you normally ovulate?

Im also confused... I had big temp drop on CD15 (normal ovulation date) with a big temp rise yesterday morning CD16 but this morning its dropped again but still higher than pre ovulation. Can anyone suggest why that would be? I know I need 3 high temps so tomorrow will confirm whether I've ovulated or not, but now im worrying today that I haven't Sad

Morning @BeautifulSlang maybe you've ovulate? It does seem like a big temperature jump.

I'm OK. A bit confused with my cycle. My temperatures are still high and flo is putting me at 9dpo and I'm expecting af later this week. I've been using fertility friend too and it was agreeing until I had a slight dip at what I thought was 5dpo (thought it was the corpus luteum - thanks Google!) but then a single raise then a dip, so it's moved my ovulation day to cd15. But I think that's wrong. I had no signs at all round that time and my temperature rises don't seem to me to confirm ovulation as didn't rise for 3 days after the dip. But I'm literally just inputting temps on there. It's also predicting af next week.

How is everyone getting on? When are you going to try tests?

Again, I'm super confused about my cycle this month. My app kept changing my ovulation date due to negative OPK's (I ran out of them 2 days ago, so haven't done one since), and no visable signs of CM. I missed my temp. recording yesterday too. However, today it's shot up. I felt like I was having the signs of an upcoming AF, and again today. Although don't think I'm due on til around the 19th/20th. What does it all mean?!?! 😂

Brilliant @Tinker315b :) sounds promising. My temperature went back up again today. I'm wondering if that's related to the acupuncture as she said she would direct the blood flow. It's higher than my highest temp last month. It's hard not to feel stressed but you've done everything you can this month :) x

So I had a blazing positive opk last night at 11pm, so going to do another one this morning and see if the surge is still there or if I have already ovulated. DTD last night and this morning and will again tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed i've covered all basis this month. Strange how it all works with acupuncture isn't it, my reflexologist said on Tuesday night that I definitely was more relaxed and not as stressed. But I can slowly feel myself getting a bit stressed approaching my 10 day wait! x

Definitely won't ruin your chances :) fingers crossed the timing is better for your bloods this time @Tinker315b back at acupuncture next Wednesday and I think af will arrive either Thursday or Friday. She had talked about lengthening my cycle but I think the timing wasn't right last week as I was cd9. Quite looking forward to it. X

@VenusStarr No I would say it’s probably just the same amount! Yea I think I’ll ovulate either Saturday or Sunday, haven’t had a positive opk yet but think I might tomorrow. Yea I’m having them done on weds, the doctor wants me in earlier this time so have to get them done on CD19. Absolutely loved the reflexology, soo glad I started it! Yea I’m thinking of dtd whilst the ewcm is there, it can’t really ruin my chances, can it?

When are you back to acupuncture? X

@BeautifulSlang I've been off the pill since December but properly trying with tracking temps and using opks for the last 2 cycles. It's our first. I'm not holding out any hope for this month as dh has been poorly so only dtd on cd6 and ovulated on cd10, so there is a tiny chance but I'm thinking ahead to next month. My cycles are short though so am already 5dpo, think af will show this time next week. And hopefully dh is better by then! What about you? Hope you're having a good holiday!

That's good about the ewcm @Tinker315b! Do you think it's more than your usual? Did you say you think you'll ovulate the weekend? Did you say you're having your bloods done again? What day do they need to be done? Hope your reflexology was good again this week. We've not done smep so I don't know! I think if you're up for it maybe just dtd otherwise stick to the plan.

I think because I've mentally written this cycle off I do feel a bit more relaxed.

Ok since last night I have had looooaaadds of EWCM, so hasn't stopped mines which I first thought!

Im following SMEP this month again, but now wondering should I be dtd everyday I have the ewcm or still stick the plan and do every other day until I get a positive OPK?

I don't know about Natural @BeautifulSlang so not sure why it would change it! OMG lucky you, ive been a few times and was there last year im sure its so so warm, hope your having a good holiday. Enjoy having a few beer especially Efes, yummy Smile
