Anybody got a bfp at 11dpo?

No sorry muffin this was my BFP from 8dpo.. I'm now 9 weeks :)

It's a good sign if you're getting darker lines @hayley FX. Also good luck to @muffin7 with the testing. I always try to have no alcohol in tww but I do have a moderate amount in the other half of the month.

Does preg tests go darker still if it is a chemical pregnancy? I have had 2 positive,1 yesterday faint and 1today stronger, i have read alsorts and absolutely terrified myself, any input would be awesome, also af still not due for 3 days

Listen I could spend all day linking you to published medical papers there's plenty on the BMJ covering the affects of moderate alcohol consumption in early embryo development, implantation of blastocyst embryos and effect on the endometrium but your attitudes clear so I won't waste my time. I'm not scaremongering at all you just can't claim there's no evidence, it's irresponsible

Oh, and I think the evidence you're referring to means 'over a sustained period', not a 'one off boozy session for a hen do'. You can't apply that evidence to this situation. It's scaremongering.

You're not actually pregnant until your period is late. I'm specifically talking about the 2 week wait and testing EARLY. If you implant late you wouldn't even get a positive, but could still be pregnant at a later date. Hence saying just don't test.

They'd be way fewer babies born if drinking heavily meant you couldn't get pregnant!

I understand caution after losses, but I really do think you're going over the top.

Only there is plenty of evidence in excess it can negatively impact your chance of conception and can cause an increased risk of miscarriage and birth defects and premature birth, that plus the increased risk of injury to yourself when under the influence of alcohol which in turn could cause issues itself. It's irresponsible of you to claim people should drink to excess when possibly pregnant as 'your GP said it was fine' staying within NHS guidelines maybe she meant. Listen I had the very odd drink in pregnancy as I weighed up everything and made an informed decision. I didn't tell her not to have any just to be cautious she doesn't want to look back and kick herself, I work with gynaecologist, midwifes, obstetricians and reproductive endocrinologist so I think I will favour medical advice over someone online saying they got wrecked and their pregnancy went fine. It is. But I don't think there's any evidence to support that drinking alcohol in the TWW can cause miscarriage, however.

Very glad it worked out for you, I think a lot suffering infertility and pregnancy loss prefer to play it safe but like I said its personal choice of course

My GP told me that it could be a very long process and that giving up alcohol and other things we enjoyed make just make the journey even more miserable, if it were to go on any length of time.

The month I got my BFP with DD was actually my booziest month in ages due to gigs, my hen do and then my friend coming over from Oz for the wedding meaning many drinks were drunk!

So sorry you went through that, been there myself. I actually work in a fertility clinic and had 5 IVF cycles myself and the medical advice following an embryo transfer (or natural conception in your case) when TTC is to follow guidelines as if you were pregnant. I am aware that many TTC naturally don't make any changes until a BFP but I also know a lot who make the changes as soon as they start TTC, only you can decide. My last IVF cycle worked and was abroad and flying home without my usual red wines to calm my nerves was a killer! Huge good luck

Honestly, go and have fun and test when you're due. I'm an early tester myself, but why have to pretend you're on antibiotics (which screams 'PREGNANT!!!!') when you could just not know and no pretence would be needed?

Early testing can and does cause heartbreak, I do think there's no harm in a few drinks personally but please consider if you drank and you were pregnant you might kick yourself if something went wrong. I see so many times people having a MC or CP and blaming themselves for something they did that was likely unconnected, it's not a nice thing to have hanging over you if you are likely to kick yourself in that situation

Yep. Totally true. The placenta kicks in a few weeks' later, and that's when alcohol can affect the foetus.

I was hammered the day before my 10DPO BFP. It happens!
