So.... first baby πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™πŸ½ Meant to be ovulating tomorrow. Main challenge atm is keeping things fun with the husband and not making him feel like a baby making machine πŸ˜‚ How’s it going for other hopeful first time mummy’s?

@hamandpease πŸ˜‚ I love it! I would be doing the same, but just don't want to give myself hope as really don't think I am pregnant this time.

@LuckyKitty13 Everyday? I am impressed!
I am currently sitting here with a g&t and I am in my tww, I won't over do it on the alcohol but I really don't think a couple of drinks will do any damage. Of course I will give up when/if I get pregnant.

rosesandponies · 16/06/2018 20:35

@LuckyKitty13 every day??!! Wow, good work πŸ˜‰

@LuckyKitty13 I'm happy to be corrected but I don't see why you couldn't have a drink if you haven't ovulated yet? Smile

LuckyKitty13 · 16/06/2018 17:05

Hello everyone, sorry I've been missing, I've been on holiday. We've DTD every day since last AF ended and think I'm on CD 11 today. When can I expect ovulation roughly? I've got some ovulation testing strips - are they what I've seen written as OKPs?

Regarding drinking, I've not been having any but I would really like a glass of wine!

hamandpease · 16/06/2018 11:59

@FlapJackered I don't understand the question πŸ˜‚

I tested at 5, 6 & 7dpo (today)

Glad I bought them in bulk... I think it's just my FMU routine now.

DH noticed I had and seemed surprised I wasn't sad / disappointed. I explained it was far too early to test so didn't matter

He just sort of nodded and smiled and looked a bit confused but you could see his brain ticking away thinking 'so why are you doing it??' πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ˜‚

FlapJackered · 16/06/2018 11:48

Not sure why that posted in bold? πŸ€”

FlapJackered · 16/06/2018 11:47

@hamandpease I have start to get cramps today at 7dpo and feels very normal af cramps unfortunately. Boobs are not sore, but I have had really sore boobs before af previously so I don't know whether I would even count that as a symptom for me anyway. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
When is it normal to start getting symptoms? When are you going to test @hamandpease

hamandpease · 16/06/2018 08:49

@rosesandponies it's fine today although I woke up really early for a Saturday at 6.30 normally I love a lie in. No spotting unfortunately just a slightly tender left boob πŸ™„

But I know it's too early for symptoms so I'm clearly just being a tit I think (no pun intended..)

How is everyone else feeling today?

rosesandponies · 16/06/2018 08:25

@hamandpease how is the pain today? Have a look at this www.thebump.com/a/what-are-implantation-cramps
Says it can last a few days if it's implantation! Any spotting?
Or perhaps it could be gastric pain - bit of indigestion or something - I often find that it feels the same as period pain. Or could be general discomfort for no particular reason, our bodies are so strange sometimes! Doubt my DH would understand/take much interest either πŸ˜‚

hamandpease · 15/06/2018 21:31

I'm trying to explain the sensation to DH and he's not really understanding Grin

hamandpease · 15/06/2018 21:26

@Delilah7 please don't worry about that as it might not be a problem at al

@rosesandponies I'm joining you tonight with the (small)Wine

I'm a bit confused tonight ladies I'm 6dpo and I feel like I have light (for me) period pain. I don't think can be implantation as it's been there for over an hour πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΏΌ

Delilah7 · 15/06/2018 15:38

@rosesandponies @FlapJackered so I had a two blood tests one was no ( but borderline) the other was so high yet I continued to eat gluten as I didn't get symptoms like my mum! Whereas now I've got lots of other problems that could be caused by that :( lol. Just want to get on my diet!

rosesandponies · 15/06/2018 15:03

Also when I meant I won't be stopping drinking I meant during TTC I will of course stop when I'm pregnant!!!

OP posts:
rosesandponies · 15/06/2018 15:00

@Delilah7 I meant I don't have it at all

OP posts:
rosesandponies · 15/06/2018 15:00

Oh @Delilah7 I'm sorry that must be a bit of a shock for you and your mum, but don't worry, my mother is celiac and well, she's a mum! πŸ˜‚ I don't have it all
Just to jump in on the drinking convo - I still drink and won't be stopping... I don't go crazy like in my early 20s finishing a bottle of wine by myself followed by shots in the club every weekend (I'd need to go to hospital if I tried that now) but a glass or two with my Friday night take away, Sunday lunch and occasional cheeky midweek G&T. About 6-10 units a week on average

OP posts:
FlapJackered · 15/06/2018 14:26

@Delilah7 have you had a blood test? Don't panic before you know, also once you are gluten free it won't effect your chances.
I suspect I am too, but I have been on a gluten free diet for years now so it doesn't come up in blood tests.

@Slimders16 I haven't given up drinking as I find it helps relax me sometimes and I think being relaxed and having the odd glass is better than being stressed out! I have one or two single g&ts 2/3 times a week. I honestly don't think it will make much difference. Our parents generation used to get plastered regularly and drank moderately throughout pregnancy and we all were born.

Slimders16 · 15/06/2018 14:09

Out of the blue question here but, should I really stop drinking completely when TTC? I never drink Mon-Thur and occasionally have 1 on a Friday then a couple (+) on a Sat depending on the company! I’m getting paranoid now I’m at cycle 6... should I & hubs really go teetotal?

Delilah7 · 15/06/2018 13:20

Just been told some crap news. So my mums a coeliac ( means you can't eat wheat etc) and now they think I have it and it can effect your fertility and take a while to get pregnant if you're not on the diet so that's me probably out for this month x

FlapJackered · 15/06/2018 10:05

Yes ovulating later would increase your cycle length, the luteal phase which comes after ovulation is normally between 10-14 days. My cycle is super irregular but once I have ovulated (found through temping) I know it will be 12 days until I start AF.

Sometimes stress, travel or just a change can affect your cycle length a bit, it may even be the fact you have started ttc has caused stress even unconsciously? I know doctors often tell people to stop trying so hard to conceive as it can just be what they need, to relax and it happens as the cycle is less messed up by stress/cortisol.
I know some people get late bfps though so it is possible, especially if you ovulated later than expected?

Ask1984 · 15/06/2018 09:27

@FlapJackered
No iv never done anything like that before...wouldn't know where to begin.
You are probably right...I ovulated later then I think I did...
Why is AF not here yet then? She's always on time? Does late ovulation increase the length of your cycle?...we only did the bd once like 18 days ago so u doubt I'm preggers just want af to come if she's going to so I can do all my research and try properly next month!

FlapJackered · 15/06/2018 09:21

Welcome @Ask1984 @Slimders16!
@Ask1984 do you temp as maybe you ov'd a bit later than you thought?
I would have thought at 4 days late you would be getting bfps if you ovulated when you think you did?

Ask1984 · 15/06/2018 07:52

@rosesandponies
Thanks ☺️
Af still hasn't turned up...that's 4 days late
BFN again this morning.
Even if I'm not preggers it's very strange for my period to be this late...literally never happened before
Not sure what to think ☹️

Delilah7 · 15/06/2018 07:36

@rosesandponies I hope we are fingers crossed :)

Charrb91 · 14/06/2018 19:38

Charting gives you an idea. I used clear blue ovulation tests, tested every few days for them to all day low low low low for over a month. Then found I was pregnant a couple days ago. So use them, just don’t become obsessed ☺️ I found tracking my period was the best thing for me! Then regular sex every couple of days :)

rosesandponies · 14/06/2018 19:34

@hamandpease pissing away money ahahahahahahaha πŸ˜‚ that made me lol. Husband looking over at me wondering what I'm giggling about haha. And I know how you feel, it WILL happen. Even if it's a long road for some of us it will definitely happen somehow - what I keep telling myself anyway
@Ask1984 @Slimders16 Welcome!
@Delilah7 I just check when I go to the loo - would feel a bit weird about going in for some as well, but give me a few cycles and I'll probably change my tune on that one! Sounds like you and your other half are definitely covered for trying this round, nice work πŸ˜‰
